Chapter 7 - The day Mithryan fell to the Earth
She stayed still tucked up in that very same ball. She couldn't think... see or move to respond to what was happening around her. The only thing she could do is repeatedly relive memories... bad memories. Her prison was doing a good job. The Almighty was taunting her. There was one thing he did not realise - she was innocent.
It all happened on that one dreadful forbidden day...
Up above in the skies, clouds clashed in rage. Thunder boomed. If just one single hit the ground it could wipe out the entire human race. The Almighty was that angry. But he did not allow that to happen. He loved mankind.
It was going to be the day when the two children became part of the council... now they had come together for a different cause. The Gods sat in this order: Peace, War, Creativity, Music, The Almighty, Despair, Luck, Wisdom, and Security. They had found who was responsible for the crimes. They had been so shocked. Of course the daughter of Wisdom had done them. She had too much knowledge.
Despair was smiling in happiness... but everyone was too angry to notice. If someone had they would have thought it odd. Despair should have been despairing. Instead she had laid the blame on someone else. One of the twins.
They approached fearfully, one boy, one girl. Jewel knew she was the cause of this (that's what they thought). She glanced at her brother. Linus' face was grim and he held his blanket as close to him as possible. He was aware of her innocence.
"Please, your wonderfulness," Linus announced,"My sister has not committed these crimes!" This was a big mistake.
"THEN YOU MUST HAVE ASSISTED HER!!!"
The Almighty boomed,"I am disappointed in you, Linus. I thought you would have made a great God. But obviously now you have to be punished. "Of course, Linus' punishment was not that bad as he had only helped.
"Both of you will not receive titles or powers. Jewel, your crimes are punishable of death. Security, Wisdom - I am ashamed that you had two trouble making twins," he stated. Security and Wisdom hung their heads, not meeting the eyes of their children. They were full of tears.
The Almighty steered Linus and Jewel out of the room. With only the slightest touch, he shoved Jewel through the clouds. Her arms pressed around her knees, tucking her into a ball. The Almighty lashed out his fingers. The thunder and lightning stopped. The clouds spelt 'Mithryan'. Finally, The Almighty cast the prison.
To Linus' horror, his sister started shrinking as a shell of a gem hardened around her. She had become nothing but a multicoloured gem. A jewel.
"Now you will always cause trouble since you love it so much," laughed The Almighty. "My boy. Yours will be gentler. Walk down the stairs to Earth. Stay there. Only a heroic deed will bring you back here."
Linus gulped, "You promise?"
"I promise, Linus. Now run along," and at that a cloud staircase arrived. Linus ran down it. He didn't glance back. Not once...
He had left home, lost family. He had to act normal. No one ever needed to know the truth. His twin was (supposedly) the crime commiter of the Gods. He probably would never see his family again. Her shouts... Her screams... he could not stop them echoing through his mind.
"What a pity," The Almighty sighs, "What a pity..." As the gem falls down...
down...
down...
