"Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"

Sonic fell out of his bed as the screams of the little hedgehog entered his ears. While rubbing his head he remembered what happened the last night. He turned on the lamp on his nightstand and looked down at the crying hedgehoglet. "Thanks  for screaming right into my ear at two in the morning. I'm sure everyone in town is awake now." the blue blur said while trying to get the singing sound out of his ear. Sonic then pulled the dark hedghog baby up and started to rock him.

All of a sudden the door bursts open and Tails jumped in  with a baseball bat in hand, looking for danger. "What's going on Sonic? I heard you scream." the two-tailed fox asked as soon as he located the two hedgehogs. Said hedgehogs were starring at him in surprise.

"Wha- That wasn't me! Shadow was screaming." the blue hedgehog snarled and glared at his little 'brother', who looked dumbfounded at Sonic.

"... oh ... whoops" Tails lowered the bat, blushing in embarrassment. "Sorry." he whispered, then looked up again. "But why is Shadow crying?" the two tailed fox asked. The blue blure shrugged and looked back at the baby in his arms. "I don't know, maybe he's hungry. Did you and Knuckles buy baby supplies?" Sonic asked, looking back at his best buddy. "Yeah, everything's in the kitchen but you were asleep when we came back. Oh, and Knuckles went back to Angle Island. He thinks Rouge is after his Emerald again." Tails said grinning at the last part. "He should marry this stupid rock." Sonic added shacking his head with a grin. 

"Now lets see what we've got for you to eat." the blue blure suggested and nuzzled Shadow's nose with his own, causing the little one to giggle. "You going back to sleep or will you help me feed the kid." Sonic asked as he left his bedroom, the young fox following right behind him. "I'll come with you, but I'm just watching." Tails replied smiling. "And as soon as you're finished feeding the kid, I would like to get my 50 bucks back." the young fox boy added, causing Sonic to stop in his tracks. 

"I don't remember borrowing money from you." Sonic said with a confused look on his face. "You didn't, but I bought the baby stuff with my money, remember. And Shadow is your kid, not mine." Tails stated and continued walking in the kitchen. "You'll get it after I fed Shads." Sonic answered and placed Shadow in the highchair, which Tails put together before going to bed.

The blue hedgehog looked at the different food cans while Tails grabbed himself a water bottle. As soon as the blue blure decided which one would taste the best, he grabbed a spoon and sat down on the chair in front of the black baby hedgehog. Sonic started feeding the little hedgehog, who swallowed the food hungrily. 

"Wow, slow down a bit, there's more than enough for you to eat, Shads." Sonic chuckled, giving Shadow another spoon full. "When he continues eating this fast, he'll get sick." Tails stated before he took a big gulp from his water bottle. "And unkle Tails shouldn't drink that fast or he's going to choke" Sonic informed him sarcastically as he observed his 'brother'. "I know what I'm doing Tails." the blue hedgehog added and continued feeding the hedgehoglet as he started whimpering again. 

Five minutes later the can was empty and Sonic was patting the dark hedgehogs back to get him to burp. The blue hedgehog stopped patting, as he felt something running down over his shoulder and back. Instead of burping, Shadow puked all over Sonic's back and started crying again. 

"Eww, he puked on me. Tails, he puked on me. Why did nobody told me that he'll puke on me?" Sonic whined and shivered in discomfort. "Told ya." Tails said sniggering. "Shut up, that's not funny. I'll take a shower, try to get him calm while I'm gone." the blue blure said and pushed the baby hedgehog into Tails' hands. Not waiting for a reply, Sonic rushed to the bathroom, leaving the fox with the crying hedgehoglet in the kitchen. "But why do I ha- ... and he's gone!" Tails stated and looked down at the crying hedgehog baby.

Tails put the little hedgehog back in the highchair, still sniggering about Sonic's reaction. He then grabbed a tissue from the kitchen counter and wiped the black hedgehog's mouth with it, being careful at the band-aids. Shadow was still sniffling a bit and Tails patted him on the head to calm him down. "I wish I had my camera with me, Sonic's face was hilarious" the two tailed fox chuckled and continued cleaning Shadow up. 

Ten minutes later the blue blure was back in the kitchen, the fur on his back thoroughly cleaned now. "Remind me to put a towel on my shoulder the next time I try to burp Shads." Sonic stated, entering the room. "Sure will do. But now I'm off to bed." Tails replied and handed Shadow back to his older 'brother'. The young hedgehog nuzzled into Sonic's chest and listened to his heartbeat again. "Great thanks, goodnight buddy" the blue hedgehog cheered and walked into his own bedroom as well. 

"Now lets get back to sleep little buddy." Sonic whispered as he looked down onto the small hedgehog in his arms, who already fall asleep. "Hm, looks like you're one step ahead of me." Sonic chuckled and placed the hedgehoglet on the bed again. 

After making sure the pillows were still in place, the blue blure placed Shadow's red baby blanket over him. The older hedgehog continued watching the sleeping baby for a little while longer before he turned around and turned out the light. 
As soon as Sonic settled down as well, he brought the headgelet near his chest and put his arm around him again. Shadow, who appreciated the warmth, cuddled into the blue blure's chest fur and sucked his thumb happily.
