The rebellion's headquarters was, in a word, incredible.

Hidden in a mountain valley that was covered with concealment enchantments the headquarters lay dormant and hidden. The valley itself was gorgeous, blanketed in soft green grass and surrounded by mighty cliffs that jutted into the blue sky and dropped off steeply. Tents dotted the valley, all of different sizes and shapes. At the center of the camp was a large firepit where a variety of people were making dinner.

Sting and Rogue were led to a set of empty tents alongside the Sabertooth mages.

"We set em' up for you, figured it would be too long before we found you guys," Orga laughed.

At the speed of light, two figured flew out of the tents and made straight for the dragon slayers.

"STIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING!" Lector cried barreling into the blonde and gripping his lined shirt with his paws.

"BUDDY!" Sting grinned after he caught himself from stumbling backward.

"Rogue!" Frosch called running forward, arms outstretched.

"FROSCH!" Rogue practically threw himself onto the ground so he could wrap his arms around the frog-dressed cat.

"Rogue-guu, why'd you goooo?" Frosch demanded pitifully.

"I'm so sorry Frosch," Rogue cried comically as he hugged the small cat.

"It's okay," Frosch yipped. "I forgive you."

Rogue held the exceed closer.

"I don't deserve you, Frosch," Rogue cried, tears streaming from his face.

"I could'a helped you, Sting! You didn't have to leave me behind!" Lector cried, clearly upset as he freed himself from Sting's hug. He hovered with his angelic wings outstretched and his paws crossed.

"Sorry Buddy, I couldn't risk you getting hurt if Acnologia and his goons tracked us down," Sting explained.

"And what would I have done if you'd been caught, HUH?" Lector challenged, flailing his paws angrily.

"Well, I hope you would've tried to break me out," Sting laughed sheepishly.

Lector's eyes widened and he, once again, there himself into Sting's arms.

"WELL, OF COURSE, I WOULD'VE STING-KUN!!" Lector yelled.

The Sabertooth mages looked on and smirked.

"Alright, where the hell is he?!" someone yelled.

"Gray Fullbuster, if you take one more step I will drop kick you where you stand!" the voice of Charle rang out.

"Outta my way! Where the hell is he!?" that same someone yelled, undaunted by the white cat's threat.

Sting and Rogue turned as a tall man pushed the Sabertooth mages again. He wore nothing but a pair of black pants and a silver cross around his neck, there was a Fairy Tail emblem tattooed on his chest. His dark hair, which was streaked with light grey hairs, flared into the air and his eyes seemed cold and hard. Those eyes fixed on Sting and narrowed.

"You're supposed to be on watch, Fullbuster! You're leaving us exposed!" Charle scolded in her cat form as she flew up next to the man.

Gray scoffed and walked up to Sting. The two men varied in height only by an inch with the dark-haired man, apparently named Gray, being the taller of the two. Still, Sting felt somewhat intimidated by the man and something about his face made him want to punch him and break his jaw.

Gray peered at Sting, studying him.

"The hell's your problem?" Sting growled, his eyes sparking aggressively.

Gray arched an eyebrow and nodded. "So, you're Natsu's kid."

"Yeah," Sting nodded. "What's it to you?"

"I was your Dad's friend," Gray shrugged cooly, his eyes not leaving the teen.

Sting's eyes narrowed as he tried to gauge the truth in that statement.

"Well you didn't punch me upon seeing me and you look like you're thinking so it's safe to assume you got Lucy's brain. Good. You're not an idiot then," Gray approved.

Sting would've argued back but the man rubbed his hair and nodded.

"The stupid lizard did good," Gray nodded.

"Gray-sama!!" someone called. Gray looked back to where a blue-haired woman was waving. "Gray-sama! Juvia needs help unloading the new supplies shipment!!"

"Coming!" Gray yelled back. He looked back to Sting and smirked. "The Misses is calling. We'll talk later, deal?"

Sting said nothing but gave a nod.

"The heck was that about?" Dobengal asked aloud once the man had walked away.

"I dunno, but I'm starting to question my Dad's friendship options," Sting shrugged.

"He didn't seem too bad," Rogue defended.

"I don't like him," Sting answered, narrowing his eyes.

"Well, neither did your father at first," someone else laughed. Mirajane walked up and smiled sweetly.

"Hello Mirajane, how's Yukino?" Minerva asked.

"She's wonderful," Mira beamed. "She and Sorano are catching up after all these years. It's quite amazing honestly."

They all nodded and Mira looked after Gray who was now helping Juvia carry crates of supplies to supplies tents.

"Gray used to be in the guild too. Then Juvia got pregnant and they fled to protect their son. Seems they've been here ever since," Mirajane explained to them simply.

"He knew Natsu?" Rogue asked.

"Oh, very well," Mira nodded with a laugh. "The two of them clashed a whole lot but it was often friendly competition. They'd always pick on each other but if anyone else messed with the other... well... it was always entertaining."

Mira giggled at the memories and looked to the two dragon slayers.

"Oh, Rogue, I should probably tell you that you're Mother's friends are here too," Mira laughed. "In fact... I'm surprised Jet and Droy haven't -"

As she spoke someone barreled into Rogue had high speeds and Rogue found himself with his face being grabbed and a tall lean man staring into his eyes.

Rogue's first reaction was to commit murder.

There was a beam of shadow that momentarily encased everyone in darkness. When it cleared, the tall man was on the ground, smoking, as Rogue stood, tensed like a frightened cat.

"Wow! You're strong!" Jet laughed as he sat up, coughing smoke. "Must be Gajeel's side."

"He really is an exact copy of his Father," a fat man announced running up next to his friend and helping him up.

"Who are you!?" Rogue demanded, still tensed.

"The name's Jet!" Jet introduced with a grin.

"And I'm Droy!" Dory explained.

"Back in the day when your Mom was in the guild, the three of us made up - "Jet introduced.

"TEAM SHADOW GEAR!" the two men announced getting into epic stances.

The group deadpanned.

"Team Shadow Gear?" Frosch questioned from Rogue's arms.

"And he's got a cat!" Jet laughed.

"Definitely Gajeel's side!" Droy agreed.

Sting and Rogue bumped into so many of their parent's friends, it was ridiculous. It seemed that everyone in the valley knew of Gajeel, Natsu, Lucy, or Levy.

"Your Dad was a big deal in the guild," Gray explained as he sat on a log before the fire pit. Dinner was served and Sting was gobbling the meal up as he listened to the man.

"Yeah?" Sting asked with his mouth full.

"Yeah, everyone knew Natsu," Gray nodded with a smirk. "And those who didn't... well, after they brawled with him they knew him well enough."

"Sounds like Dad fought with everyone," Sting chuckled.

"Kinda sounds like you Sting-Kun," Lector smiled as he chowed down on a fish.

"Hey - " Sting objected.

"Yeah, Natsu fought with everyone." Gray nodded. "It was all fun and games though. The guy had a big heart."

Sting looked up and recognized a look of sadness in Gray's eyes.

"You miss him?" Sting asked.

"That idiot?" Gray laughed. "Course I do."

"Dad," a cold voice greeted. Sting and Gray both turned to a young man with light blue hair and cold eyes. He wore a blue robe and had his long hair held back in a loose pony-tail.

"Invel," Gray smiled. "How was the scouting?"

"Boring," Invel dismissed coldly sitting beside his father with a plate in hand.

"Sting, this is my son, Invel," Gray explained gesturing to the man.

Sting looked to Invel and grinned.

"Hey there!" Sting grinned.

Invel scoffed and went back to eating.

Anyone else would've shrugged off that dismissal.

This is Sting we're talking about though. "Shrugging off" isn't his strong suit.

"The hell was that!?" Sting demanded angrily.

"Sorry?" Invel asked coldly looking to the blonde.

"I said 'hi', you could at least say 'hi' back! Even passive-aggressively would be fine!" Sting cried.

"I didn't feel like it," Invel explained cooly. "I wasn't aware that you required a set amount of attention to feel valued."

Sting's eye twitched.

Gray looked at the two boys and then went back to eating... he probably should've seen this coming.

"I don't like your tone, Pony-tail," Sting growled standing up.

"And I don't like yours," Invel stated, glaring at the man.

"Ooh, dear," Lector sighed.

"You wanna go?" Sting growled.

"I'd crush you," Invel scoffed.

"Wanna bet?" Sting hissed.

The air around Invel got colder as the man glared at Sting.

"Yes... I would," he answered cooly.

"So, this was Mom's favorite book?" Rogue asked as he skimmed through the pages.

"Oh yeah, she also liked this one," Droy agreed as he sorted through a chest full of books. He held up a book and tossed it to Jet who caught it. "And this one... and this one... and this one..."

With every phrase, another book was tossed to Jet.

"She was quite the - "Jet began. He looked to Rogue and found the boy sitting in a chair and entranced with the book. Frosch lay in his lap and he was petting the cat, earning a purr from Frosch.

"And this one... and this one..." Droy murmured.

"Hey Droy, I think he has Levy's taste in - " Jet laughed.

A book struck the man on the side of the head.

"OWwwwww!" Jet cried, rubbing his head furiously.

"Sorry," Droy apologized.

The ground rumbled which made them all tense.

"What was tha-" Droy began.

Sting crashed through the ten, bringing the whole thing down.

Sting lay in the remnants of the tent and sat up angrily. He wiped the blood off his lip and smirked. Invel charged towards him, the side of his face bruised.

"Nice, but you punch like my cat," Sting jeered to the approaching ice mage.

"HEY! THAT'S NOT FAIR STING!!" Lector shouted from afar.

"You're laughable," Invel sneered as he tried to freeze Sting. Sting's body glowed in a Holy enchantment he had invoked on himself to prevent Invel's magic from freezing him.

"Come at me Snowflake," Sting taunted cruelly.

"With pleasure," Invel retorted lunging.

Before the two could continue, there was a blast of shadow magic that threw Invel into a near-bye tent and sent Sting skidding in the dirt.

"I wanted to read. I wanted to read ONE CHAPTER! WHAT ARE THE CHANCES THAT YOU LAND ON THE TENT I'M READING IN! WHAT ARE THE CHANCES!???" Rogue cried, glowing with a dangerous aura as he threw a piece of the collapsed tent off of him.

"O-oh, hey Rogue... buddy... didn't know you were in there," Sting smiled nervously.

"Don't 'Buddy' me," Rogue snarled.

"Who's that," Invel groaned, sitting up in the tent. Rogue shot him a glare that made his skin crawl.

"I can, and will, be your worst nightmare if you interrupt my reading one more time. Am I understood?" Rogue growled.

"Yep," both boys chimed.

"Good," Rogue nodded.

"Rogue! I found your book!" Frosch announced, running forward and holding up a book. Rogue's demeanor completely changed as he smiled and crouched down to thank the cat.

"Thanks so much, Frosch, you're the best," he smiled.

"W-what the heck?" Invel murmured.

"Just back away slowly and hope he doesn't notice," Sting murmured getting to his feet and backing away. Invel did the same.

"My, my, Juvia thinks Invel has found a friend," Juvia smiled, sitting down next to Gray.

Gray laughed as he watched the two flee from the furious Rogue.

"Reminds me of two other boys Juvia knew at their age," Juvia smiled.

Gray only smiled.

"Hey!! Zeref and Mavis are back!!" someone called making everyone's head turn.

The voice was heard on the other side of the camp where Chelia, Wendy, and Romeo were making their next plans.

"Perfect," Wendy smiled looking out of the tent.

"That means everyone's here," Romeo nodded.

"Great, that means we can get to work," Chelia grinned.
