3 years later.

Aquila's POV.

Wow time flies when your having fun. I thought as I was reading a book in library where it's peaceful.

I'm finally a senior nearly ending my school years. I still can't grip the fact I'm a valedictorian at the graduation.

" oh gawd i got so much to do ..and places to be oh gosh"

I pick up a book and give to the Liberian and smile at her.

"Thank you very much dear..oh congrats on being valedictorian."

she laughed at me when she saw my shocked face and a blush crept upon my cheeks.

"thank you ma'am and i better be going.." i say waving her a goodbye and picking the book that i borrow from the library.

i walk down the school halls and open my locker to put my textbooks in and bring some assignments back home but not before visiting someone.

While I was walking out thinking on many things suddenly i was lifted upwards which surprise me a lot at least i didn't peed in my pants.

"AAAAAAHHHHHHH put me down you neanderthal!" i yell at the culprit while he was laughing.

Adam spins me around and put me back down on the ground and i hit him on his muscled chest while he feigned hurt.

"ooowww aquila bae that hurt ya know..i was just wanna make that chummy glumm face into a beautiful smile" he said easily and i blush a bit and hit him again this time on the head.

idiot he shouldn't do that to a person who is thinking thoughtfully.

then I notice that he was staring down at me when I was pouting.

"what are you looking at?"

he turned around quickly and and scratch the back of his head before muttering a nothing.

"c'mon aquila, I'll take you to my mum's bakery..she bake your favorite chocochip cookies which I believe would ruin your gums but for some reason you still have white teeth" he teases and I huff as walk before him.

"obviously I'm your mother"s favourite child.." i mutter softly not before not earning a pinch on the cheek from him.

"pffftt you stole that title from me, woman!" he exclaimed and pouted like a child as i laugh hysterically.

aww he so cute when he does that.

Adam's Mom owns a bakery just near the sea harbour where you get a nice view of the seaside.She is famous for her wedding cakes for events since in the hamptons sorta everyone here is rich as billionaires really but we act as averagely normal people or is that half of the school populations here?

we walked down the lane then cross the road to get to an oaken staircase which get you through the boats near the harbour and wave at Freddy who take care of these luxury boats and fishing.

"Where you turtle doves headin?" Even though he is old but sure is concern about us.

His kids are successors of famous companies and the love for their parents never exceed. They even want them to stay but him and his wife refuse since they want to live with near sea.

"Goin, to my mum's bakery Freddy and don't worry I ask mum to whip you up some delicious cookies for you and Daphne!" Adam announce loudly to him and giggle as his childishness.

"Alright boy but you forget again me and Daphne are gonna tell are your mother!"
He replied making Adam blush red since he always forgets and pat his arm.

"Don't worry Fred I will remind him!" I said to him and he smiled at me and wave us goodbye when he begin fishing.

When walk to his bakery he pouted and argue and he said in how he won't forget and just laugh saying he will if I wasn't here.

We reach to his mum's bakery store and the aroma freshly baked pasteries invades my senses and I smile brightly when I smell my favourite chocochip cookie.

Adam laughed at me when I glared at him playfully but no before his mum comes out waves at both of us.

"Ah there my boy where have you been sneaking of with my daughter-in--"/before she could finish her mouth was covered my her son palm and I indeed was very confused.

His mum whacked him on head for letting her go but before seeing a bump on his back head I giggled when he just sighed.

"What was that for!Do you want me to suffocate or so because I don't want to die young!" She said making our heads turn as we roll our eyes.

"Your not even young, mum." he said earning the look from his mum saying 'what did you say' and he smiled innocently.

"Jocelyn I think you look magnificent for your age and ignore your son for the time being" I laugh when she put put her tongue at her son before enveloping me with a hug.

"Ahaha oh that's thank you darling and yes I want to say the kids said hi and do join for dinner again." she meant her two other kids which was three-six years of Zara's junior in school.

It happen one day when Zara and her friends save them from getting bullied by some rich kids and calling them horrible names Zara got something up sleeve at that time and she wasn't happy about it either suddenly they got into a fight while the kids run to me and Adam for help when on our way home. but I didn't want to help because Zara is good at mortal combat.

I remember Zara got bruise eye and fractured leg that she couldn't go to school for couple of days since she got told off with mum and dad Once they find out the reason they understand why.
Ever since then Jocelyn was grateful of she did and always gives free cookies and the kids sorta like me which sorta make Adam jealous since I spend more with them then him.

I hug her back not before she smiled and gave me what is was behind the desk which was chocolate chip cookies.

"Oh thank you!but I can't join you guys for dinner today because I need to go Miracles centre for senior citizens and Oh Fred wants his red velvets" I said quickly and out of breath.

"Oh yeah! His cookies!" Adam exclaimed and sighed and palm my face.

"Oh Adam,stop forgetting those little things! Oh! Really I understand oh you can give those ladies some buttercream cookies and Apple pies to them when you go there." Jocelyn said as she went at back.

"Hahahah sorry about that my mum is so hyped today and I don't really know why" he said with the look on his face.

"Hahaha I'm sure it's not" I giggled as he said he wants me to rub his boo-boo where his mom hit him.

So I stood on tippy toes and rub his bump and he hug me so I won't won't fall , his eyes was close and a smile was playing on his lips.

"Your a big baby do you know that?" I told him squarely and he narrow his eyes at me with a pout.

"Well im so sorry but my mum hit me hard 'kay ?" He said and I laugh.

"But your a jock..with excellent grades you suppose not to feel a thing." I finish.

"Sometime I need something/someone to comfort me because..." He trailed off.

His eyes softens as he look deeply into my eyes as he stare at me and I stare back not blinking.

My breath hitched as he was leaning in close to my lips.

Our vision was half lidded until we close the gap between us and as I close my eyes..I felt fireworks bursting through me.

I never knew that this would ever happen between us, I mean we are good friends and we talk so many things to each other but I can never tell him my other life.

My magical life.

I love him so much I admitted I love my best friend.

When he tried to kiss me deeper we heard footsteps and we separated from each other quickly and not looking in each other's direction.

Adam just scratch at the back of his head looking anywhere my eyes and as for me I put my head down and my cheeks feel absolutely hot.

Adam's mum comes out with a paper bag full of cookies and sweets for the family and the senior citizens at The Miracles centre.

"T-thank ..you very much Jocelyn..and uhm..I will say hi to them for you..bye!" I stuttered and and turn to the door.

"Aquila..uhm will ya come to the game tomorrow night?" Adam asks innocently still not looking at me but I could see his ears were red.

I smile soflty and said a soft yes and wave at Jocelyn as I head out to but we did our eyes made contact and we both turn red and he bump into his mum bake loaf shelf as he turn around.

After I strided out the bakery and wave a goodbye at Freddy I walk on to a small Lane to where the miracle centre is which is 35 minutes away.

As I walk on my brain decided to hear music on our walk there as I was reaching for my MP4 audio I accidentally drop a few books on the ground.

"O-oh goodness..I'm not thinking straight after that... H-how can I .." I trailed off thinking of my kiss. my First kiss.

I gathered my books and put them in a bag until something caught my eye which was a small pink ribbon box.

I remember now. Once of the guys told me to open this box once I'm eighteen..I think it was Seth..still I haven't been in touch with them because I couldn't but then again I have to leave the past all behind.

Pulling the pink ribbon off as I open the top lid a box a bracelet was shining before me and it's was actually brass and metal made and I understand straightforwardly.

It was my gang as in Kenn is the goat shape to be honest I was laughing and Lucas was the falcon shape and Seth is a fox and lastly Drake is the lion the leader but right on the middle was a black star Jem which represents me.

Dark star.

I haven't thought of that name is three and a half years and still it gives me the bittersweet memories I tried to leave the past but it seems to come back and haunt me but I don't fear it that much as I grow stronger.

I put on the clasp as I walking nearly reaching to entrance of the old homes centre and as I walk in I was greeted with warm smiles and teases.

The nurse walk through the halls and we stop in front of the pool where the ladies were swimming and the men were relaxing on the bench chairs.

I put the tin cookies on the table with the nurse and pass it to them smiling brightly at them making them laugh.

Even though I don't have a very good past but I will have a brighter a future with that in sure. I snap back my thoughts when I forgot to give something to mama odita.

I walk pass the elderly people and wave them a goodbye as I make way to the kitchen because from what I know from my previous times coming here.

She makes great gambo. She's a Louisiana African American woman who was born raised near the colony wars but even now no one knows that she is a vodoo master.

I smell gambo cooking as I open the door I greeted with warm smile and big bone crushing hug from her.

"Hello there sugar! Wanna try on my gambo!" She said usually in her southern accent and I nodded smiling.

She pour in some gambo in a spare bowl and we sit by the window showing the veiw of the lake.

"So what brings you here to visit me child?" She asks in her tone.

"Yezza mama odita! Here you go mum asks me to give this on my way back to school." I put a an envelope which I didn't not open.

She hummed and took the letter and open the envelope and suddenly stuff used for vodoo appeared before me even some blood.

I nearly jump out of my chair and my eyes went wide and the old woman laugh at me and I pouted and he look at me with a smirk.

"Looks like someone got a smooch on those lips" she counter slyly.

I blush and cover my mouth with palms and narrow my eyes at her while she is laughing.

"H-how d-did you know?" I mumbled but I'm sure she can.

"Ahaha darling that's something that some wisers would know plus there is smudge on your lip balm." She said while smiling.

I panicked as I clean my face,lips and well I shiver as the thought of ..that.

"Hahah your sister surely won the bet.." Mama odita mutter.

"What bet?" I ask puzzled.

"Haha oh nothing ..now go home child! Your parents will be waiting." She laughed it off nervously.

I smile it off and give her Jocelyn cookies and she hugged me tightly before pushing me out out of the kitchen but not before she give a pendant which looks like something soothing and not terrifying dolls.

As the electric sliding open up I walk back home and spot a glimpse of my sister Zara laughing her out her heart contents as she sit at the rock near the bench with her friend.

I walk to her and she smile brightly at me and he friend wave at me, I swear I feel horrible not remembering his name.

"Sis! Going' home I 'pose?" She asked and I nodded.

"Hahaha okey .why so quiet?..did something happen? Like or is it possible it did happen?" Zara said smirking.

"N-nothing happened today a-and what makes you think it did?" I stuttered.

Her grin went wider and her friend beside her giggled and she muttered saying I won.

Now I am curious on what bet she did with mama odita and all.

My sister just smiled at me as if to assure that nothing to worry but something that smile hold something fishy in my opinion.

"Alright...c'mon let's go home I bet mum and dad will be waiting for us and all." I say fixing my hair because of the wind near the sea.

"Oh really? Okay, then later Mitchell we talk about our mentors later yeah around midnight I will meet ya. Later little bro!" Zara said ruffling the little boys hair as he lagu and open a portal which suck him in.

"Okey let's go sis. Since your now head over heels for someone...I wonder who?" She ponders as she skips ahead before me.

"ZARA!" I yell and blush furiously since everyone was looking at me.

"What?" The fourteen year old smirks at me.
