Born in Detroit, Michigan, and raised in Tokyo, Japan among other capitals of the world. My mother who is a Professor of Romantic Poetry is also a published author of a collection of poetry and short stories based on Japanese legends and folklore. My father was a Professor of World Languages most specifically Spanish, Italian, and Japanese. When we arrived in Tokyo, it was a hard first few years especially since my dad would spend 'late' nights at the university where he worked. But the school found out what was going on and promptly fired him. My mom however didn't get any backlash especially since my dad disappeared after that.
When I was barely eight. Mom enrolled me in martial arts. I was lucky enough to be taught by a master of many disciplines (Sensei Takashi Matsuzuki. Pictured above). Aside from history, and literature, a beginner in swordplay and martial arts. I followed pro wrestling and was a real big fan of Highlander movies and series. Because it mixed history with swordplay. And if it wasn't for that series I never would have enrolled in fencing in junior high and high school. By the time I graduated from high school in 2012. I was the top student in every type of swordplay. In my martial arts studies, well one of two top students. The other was Haruki Matsuzuki. My Sensei's daughter and my best friend. I went to Komazawa University and got a doctorate in literature in 2019.
I became a professional wrestler out of necessity in late 2019, I was adamant that get a place of my own. And I incorporated what I learned over the years of swordplay and martial arts into my wrestling style. And it has been a real blessing. I soon got the nickname 'The Sword' as I was according to 'Switchblade' Jay White. The toughest and most tenacious opponent he ever faced.
He should know I took the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship from him in 2020 and held it for almost three years. During that time, In 2022 I met the very beautiful Britt Baker. She was with Tanea Brooks(She would later state that the moment Britt's and I's eyes met there was an instant connection) they were on a scouting run. Approached me about coming to AEW, but I declined as I was home in Japan. But we kept in touch throughout the rest of 2022 through 2023. When my contract expired in late 2023. At the behest or should I say nagging of my mother. I signed with WWE.
My debut was slated for Fastlane 2023. It was a few days prior when I got a hysterical phone call from Britt.
"Britt, what's wrong? " I asked.
"I need you. Please come to me." I told Hunter that I had a personal emergency and I didn't need to say more, I hopped the next flight to Orlando and immediately went to the nearest hotel, and found Britt sitting on the bed in a room she reserved for us.
"Britt. I'm here. What's wrong?" I asked as she looked at me and I could tell she had been crying for the last few hours. I slid next to her and wrapped my arms around her, "Take as much time as you need. Start from the beginning." I said rubbing her shoulders. She told me that Tony Kahn didn't think she was an integral part of AEW anymore. Britt naturally vehemently disagreed, when she looked to Adam for support or backing up. He didn't do either. And for stabbing Britt in the back. He got another deal. While Britt was released from AEW. And to make matters worse. She caught Adam with Julia Hart in their locker. Britt was crying into my shoulder as I was rubbing her back now trying to calm her down. "You know what? His loss. I would never break your heart or betray you in any way." She grinned as she gripped my right hand in both of hers. "I don't care if it's breaking the rules or if it's not the norm. Would you be my girlfriend, Britt?" She nodded as she kissed me. Over the week, I helped Britt move out of her and Adam's home and we bought a nice home together. And after we moved into it. Britt filed for divorce. But I had to make my debut at Fastlane in Indianapolis, Indiana. So we gave her divorce attorney our contact information if she needed to contact either of us.

At Fastlane, Britt and I arrived at the arena and Hunter was surprised, to say the least. I introduced them and Britt told him that Tony released her and didn't bother including a non-compete clause when he did. Which made Hunter salivate at the thought of Britt joining the WWE's women's division. I must admit I kinda drooled at the thought of Britt wearing WWE Women's Gold and nothing else. Britt saw the look in my eyes. "You're imagining me with nothing but titles covering me aren't you?" She asked with a smirk.
"Sorry, B. But you'd look good covered in gold. Whether it be your attire colors, or in gold titles and nothing else." I told her which made her blush.
"Why didn't I meet you sooner?" She asked.
"Probably because I grew up in Japan while you grew up here in America?" I replied making her giggle a little.
Then down the hallway, we heard, "Britt. Are you really in WWE?" Jade asked.
"It's not official yet, but I'm here with my Danny" Britt replied.
"What happened to Adam?" Jade asked.
"He'll be dealt with soon enough," I replied. "But tonight, I got a debut to put in the books." I grinned as I kissed Britt's cheek. "I better get ready. See you after, B. Jade I'm leaving her in your capable hands." I grinned as Jade and Britt walked away and started talking and catching up while I headed to an empty locker room and got changed into my attire. When I was ready I chose to interfere in the tag match between LA Knight and Cena vs Solo and Jimmy. I waited until Solo was going to go for the Samoan Spike when the lights went out and after a minute or two came back on with Jimmy on the ground outside the ring and me standing in the ring with Solo's right wrist in my hand and his left arm was limp as he was down on one knee. I delivered a chop to the underside of his right arm making it go limp. The lights went out again and when they came back on. I was gone. And LA Knight pulled Solo up and performed BFT on Solo and covered him for the three-count victory. When I got to the back I saw Dom and Logan trying to make a move on Britt. Britt was getting irritated by their bad pickup lines. Jade grinned as I approached Dom from behind and pulled my katana from its sheath.
Britt started smiling, "You like that idea baby?" Dom asked.
"No, she likes the fact two idiots are about to lose their heads in a second if they don't back away from my Lady," I replied scaring them. "Or the first to lose his head?" I asked as I swung my katana over their heads making them run like scared puppies.
Britt, Jade, and I laughed at the cowards running away. I stowed my katana in its sheath in my jacket. "Nobody messes with my girl." I chuckled.
Britt smiled as she kissed me. "Technically not yet. But after my divorce is finalized, I'm all yours."
"I know, B." I grinned. I headed to the empty locker room and changed into the clothes I wore to the arena. Britt and I hung out a little more when Hunter walked up to us and talked to Britt dominantly and worked out a sweet deal for herself. Her debut would be at the Royal Rumble 2024. When we mentioned that Britt was going to start divorce proceedings in a few days. So even though tonight was my debut. Hunter thought it would be a good idea that my first match would be on Day 1. The first event of the year after New Year's. Where I would be going against Logan Paul. I was looking forward to that. Hunter gave us the remainder of the year off. But asked we keep him updated on the proceedings. If it finished early, he had a few ideas for spots to get people invested in Britt and I's first matches. We went to the hotel and got showered separately (even though it was tough for me not to join her), we changed into our sleepwear which for me was a vintage Wrestlemania shirt, and my boxers. For Britt, she wore a Pittsburgh Steelers shirt and a pair of comfortable shorts. We cuddled close together, closed our eyes, and fell asleep.
