It had taken me a while to fall asleep that night. The letter from Xavier had been running through my mind for hours. By the time I was able to fall asleep the morning sun was starting to peek through my curtains. The sound of my phone ringing had me wanting to throw the thing against the wall. I couldn’t have gotten more than a couple hours sleep.

“What?” I yawned not bother to check who was calling.

“Are you still sleeping?” Elena asked in disbelief.

“Not any more since you woke me up.” I grumbled

“Yes, well, if you would’ve met up with us an hour ago like you were supposed to, I wouldn’t be calling you.”

Glancing over at my clock I realized that it was already 2pm. “Crap, I’m sorry!” I exclaimed falling out of my bed as I hurried out of it. “Give me twenty!” I said and disconnected the call.

I ran around my room feeling like a chicken without it’s head. I could not believe that I had over slept. You know what, never mind, I can believe it and it was Xavier and his damned letter’s fault! If I hadn’t gotten that letter when I got home last night I wouldn’t have stayed up all night. I had my tooth brush sticking out of my mouth as I tried to put my shoes on and brush my hair at the same time. Not as easy as I thought it would be.

Twenty minutes later after I had finally managed to get ready I was speeding down the road to the park. I don’t know why the girls and I always chose that as the place to meet up but, that’s where we always ended up. I ripped into a parking stall and breathed a sigh of relief when I noticed that the girls and I were the only ones there.

“Sorry, sorry, sorry!” I shouted as I ran up to Elena and Corrie who were sitting at a picnic table. “I am so sorry!” I panted

“Don’t worry about it,” Elena giggled

“No prob, so how come you over slept?” Corrie asked

“Well, when I got home yesterday Sharon was there and asked if I would have dinner with her so we could talk about all the wedding plans.” I replied “So I was thinking...” I said slowly “Um, well I was wondering if the two of you would be my maids of honor?”

“YES!” they shouted in unison

“I would honored!” Corrie exclaimed

“As would I!” Elena screamed

They both wrapped me in a bone crushing group hug. A face splitting grin spread across my face. These two girls were my best friends through thick and thin. My life would seriously suck without these two. We hugged for a few more minutes and I'm sure we looked like quite a sight to anyone who passed by. Breaking apart we each had equally large grins on our faces. I knew right then and there that no matter what happens when it comes to this wedding I'd be able to get through it because of them.

"So, do you need any help with wedding stuff?" Elena asked

"No, Sharon and I just about got everything done last night." I replied "The only thing left is dress shopping. I still need my dress and the dresses for the two of you and Maria."

"Well, what the hell are we sitting here for?" Corrie questioned "Let's get to shopping!"

The girls were on a mission to find me the perfect dress. I was actually way more interested in finding their dresses and one for Maria. I could really careless what I wore or what it looked like. Not like I'd be enjoying my own wedding anyway. We went to shop after shop trying to find a dress, any dress, with no luck. I'd have to call Sharon and ask if she would like to help me out. I'd have to make  sure the girls came along as well, maybe even Maria if my parents ever let me take her out again.

"I cannot believe we didn't find you a freaking dress." Corrie complained

"I know right!" Elena groaned "We went to every damn wedding boutique in a 10 mile radius."

"Don't even worry about it, there's still a month and a half before the wedding." I said "I'll have dress by then, if not than I'll walk down the isle in jeans."

"There is no way in hell you are getting married in jeans." Elena gasped "I will slap the crap out of you if you do that."

"I was kidding sheesh." I mumbled "I'll just call Sharon and talk to her about it."

"You better be kidding." Elena warned wagging her finger at me.

"If you two are done, what are we going to do now?" Corrie asked looking at Elena and I

"Let's head back to my place and I can show you what Sharon and I came up with for the wedding and reception." I said making my way back to my car.

"Sounds good!" the both said and ran off to Elena's car.

We hadn't broached the subject of Xavier all day and I knew I would have to tell them about the letter I had found last night. Or I could just show it to them and get their opinion on what I should do. Since I was still on the fence on what I should do about Xavier I needed as much help as I could get. I wondered if I should consult with Liam and Cole as well since they were Xavier's best friends. I'll figure it out once I get home and talk with the girls about it first. I'd have to bring it up before we get into the whole wedding thing, if not than we would never get a chance to talk about it.

I was so stuck in my thoughts that I didn't even realize that I had pulled up to my house. How I managed not to get into an accident or pulled over is beyond me. No more over thinking for me while I'm driving, next time I might not get so lucky. Stepping out of my car I groaned, my mother was home. The girls walked up beside me and I could've sworn Corrie had said something about the wicked witch of the west being here. I wasn't sure if I heard it right but, I laughed none the less.

"Mallory Sofia Blake!" my mother shouted walking into the foyer where the girls and I were still standing. "What is the meaning of this?" she hissed thrusting a folder at me.

I turned to Elena and Corrie. "I'll meet you guys in my room." I said, they nodded and headed up stairs.

Opening the folder I noticed that it was everything that Sharon and I had talked about the night before concerning the wedding. She had apparently went ahead and put everything through, finalizing it all. I looked up at my mother and grinned internally at the look on her face. She was fuming.  I had never seen her so angry in my life aside from the incident with Maria.

"Well, mother, it look to me like everything for my wedding has been finalized." I said tucking the folder under my arm.

"I did not approve any of that!" she hissed

"Yes, well I did." I smiled "It is after all my wedding." Stepping around her I made my way to the stairs, looking over my shoulder I said: "If you don't like what I picked out or how the wedding and reception will be, feel free to stay home." with that said I walked up the stairs and didn't look back.

She could be pissed off all she wanted, I did not care. It was my wedding so she could take all her jacked up wedding plans and shove it up her ass. I walked into my room with a smile on my face and fell back onto my bed. Looking up I saw that both Corrie and Elena had their brows raised at me and their hands on their hips.

"So, when did you get this?" Elena asked dangling the letter from Xavier in my face.

"Last night." I replied

"And you didn't tell us, why?" Corrie asked

"Because we got into the whole wedding thing and it totally slipped my mind. But, now you know so you can help me because I have to idea what I'm going to do." I said sitting up and crossing my legs.

"Do you believe him? Do you really think that he will change and that he's truly sorry?" Corrie asked

"I have no idea." I shrugged "Who am I to expect him to change though, I know we're getting married but, I really have no claim or anything over him."

"Considering that you're marrying the guy I think that gives you the right to expect him to change. You have more claim over him then anyone else because of that." Elena said

"I get where you're coming from but, we aren't getting into this marriage out of love and all the stuff. It's an arrangement so...I just don't know!" I huffed falling back onto my pillows "This is so damn complicated."

"I think we should bring in the experts." Corrie said whipping out her cell phone. She tapped away on her phone for a few minutes then looked back up. "Let's go!"

"Where are we going?" I asked looking over at Elena who just shrugged.

"We're meeting up with Liam and Cole." Corrie replied with a shrug.

"Are you sure that's a good idea?" I asked hesitantly "I mean, I had thought about it on the drive home but, I don't know."

"They're his best friends, they know more about Xavier than Elena and I ever could." Corrie pointed out.

"I know, but, it just feels weird going through his friends." I admitted

"Well you've got questions and hopefully they've got answer's, which they probably do." Corrie said

She had a valid point. I did need some kind of answer to this whole thing. I needed them before I figured out what I was going to do with the whole Xavier situation. We all filed down the stairs and out of the house. I didn't know where we were going since Corrie hadn't told us anything other than we were meeting up with the guys. I climbed into the back seat of Elena's while she rode shot gun and Corrie in the drivers seat. Ten minutes later we pulled up to McDonald's. McDonald's? Really?

"You've got to be kidding me." I said staring out the window. "They wanted us to meet them here?"

"That's what they said." Corrie shrugged. "Maybe they were craving a Big Mac."

"Who cares," Elena said dismissively waving her hand. "I want a Oreo McFlurry and fries."

"So do I." I nodded and linked my arms with the girls as we walked in.

We headed straight toward the counter and ordered three Oreo McFlurry's and three large fries. Once we got our order we searched for Liam and Cole. They were sitting in the back of the restaurant in a corner booth eating freaking Big Mac's. That was just weird. The girls and I looked at each other and started laughing.

"What's so funny?" Liam asked with a mouth full of fries.

"Nothing." we all said and took a seat with them.

"So, what's going on?" Cole asked before taking a bite out of his burger.

"Yeah, you said you all needed to talk to the two of us." Liam added

"Have either of you read gossip weekly recently?" Elena asked

"Yeah but, what does...oh..."Colt said slowly.

"Yeah, oh." Elena said with a roll of her eyes.

"Here," Corrie said handing over the letter. "read that first."

I just sat there staring at Liam and Cole as they read the letter. I tried to read them to maybe get a hint of what they were thinking and couldn't. They were just like Xavier, masking their emotions and all that crap so no one could read them. I was never good at that anyway so it wasn't really a surprise.

"Wow," Liam said shaking his head. "This is a first."

"What'd you mean?" I asked, my fries and McFlurry forgotten.

"Well, for one, Xavier never apologises for what he does. He never feels like he has to since it's his life." Lam replied

"Xavier's never even written a letter before, on a piece of paper no less." Cole added

"Hm, no wonder he's been so out of it." Liam said thoughtfully.

"What's you mean 'out of it'?" Corrie asked

"It wasn't too bad before Christmas but, after that he's just been....out of it." Liam shrugged

"What happened during Christmas?" Cole asked directing the question to me.

I went on to tell them everything that went down that morning. They sat through it not once interruting me. I got a little distracted once in a while because they were actually sitting there and listening. You know how hard it is for guys to manage that without butting in. By the end of it they were sitting with their mouths open.

"You have to be the first girl, ever, to put him in his place like that." Liam said in awe.

"Most girls wouldn't give shit what he did if they were going to marry him." Cole nodded

"Yeah, well, I'm not most girls and I didn't even know who he was until after Thanksgiving." I shrugged "So, can you guys help me?"

"What do you need help with?" Cole asked

"That letter," I said pointing to it "I don't know whether to believe it or not. All I know is that because of it, everything is going to change."

"We can't tell you to believe it, that's all up to you." Cole said "But, you should go and talk to Xavier, he's the only one that can give you the answers you want."

"This isn't exactly the kind of conversation you have over the phone." I said

"Then go to his place." Liam shrugged

"I don't know where that is." I pointed out

Liam pulled out his phone and tapped away on it. A few seconds later a text came through to my phone, it was an address, Xavier's address. The girls and I said our goodbye's to Liam and Cole. They dropped me off at home and went straight to my car. Xavier didn't live far from my house maybe a twenty minute drive. I parked my car on the side of the road in front of his house. Night had already fallen so I couldn't really get a good look at it, though it was huge.

I sat there for a solid half hour feeling like a freaking stalker. Finally growing some balls I got out of my car and made my way up the drive. I had noticed his car when I pulled up so at least I knew he was home. At first I knocked on the door but, got no answer so I rang the door bell. I waited a few minutes and was about to ring it again when the door flew open. Standing in front of me was a very disheveled looking Xavier in a pair of jeans with the button and zipper undone. He looked like he had just gotten of bed.

"Mallory!" he breathed with wide eyes.

"We need--" I began only to be cut off.

"Xavier...baby? Who's at the door?" a nasally voice asked

A leggy blond came into view wrapped in a sheet. She attatched herself to him and glared at me. Guess, I ruined their night. I scoffed and shook my head, I should've known. Look's like he's doing what I told him to do and being private about what he's doing.

"You know what, nevermind." I said reaching into my bag and pulling out the letter. "As of now this means nothing to me." then I ripped it half before letting it fall to the ground. "I have all the answers I need now."

I walked away from him holding back tears. I don't know why I wanted to cry. We were nothing to each other so I shouldn't want to cry over this. His voice rang out in the night as he called to me. I picked up my pace and got into my car. A single tear slid down my cheek as I drove away.

Why the hell was I crying over this, over him?!
