Clark kept monitoring comments. They got worse and worse each day he checked.
Kelli Winston commented: The other day i caught her making out with some random girl
Johanna Weathers replied to Kelli Winston's comment: That never happened, you liar.
Livie Meyers commented: ew, she's alive
Even during the middle of the class some idiot would make up a rumor about her or something stupid. It didn't matter where or when, comments would come up out of nowhere onto her page.
About after a week of new comments coming in, Clark tried to talk to Johanna. Even though he saw her in his class earlier, he couldn't find her. And knowing that Johanna never skipped school or anything, Clark knew it wasn't good.
A few days after Johanna not being at school, she came back. Clark tried to talk to her; he didn't know what he should've said, but he knew he should probably talk to her.
She tugged on her sleeve of her sweater when he started walking to her. Someone purposely bumped into her, making her stumble forward, and she looked at Clark with tired eyes. "Hey, Johanna," he started. "I, uh-" Clark noticed how Johanna looked; she looked tired and not like her usual self. He didn't see the usual sunshine and happiness she always had, even when she was in her worst moods. "Are you okay? You look so..."
"Clark, I don't really want to talk," she told. "I gotta get to class."
As Johanna walked away Clark yelled out, "Johanna!", but she didn't even look back.
They didn't talk at all for the rest of the day. Clark tried to catch up to her but then she'd just blend into the crowd of people or disappear. So he had no hope in talking to her, no hope in apologizing, or telling her the truth.
When he got home he checked the comments once again. They were still saying terrible things about her, calling her names, starting rumors about her, and everything on her page was now just a bunch of awful comments. Clark started to type (even though he had no idea how to stop anything).
Anonymous User commented: U guys should stop, its really rude. None of this is true about her.
A minute later, people started replying to him.
Mandy Howarrd replied to Anonymous User's comment: What are you going to do huh? R u gay? If so you should become this person's dumb friend. She can get even dumber by being with u!
Elliot Quintens replied to Anonymous User's comment: how do you know it's not true? idiots everywhere
Clark now felt desperate to do anything to stop the comments; he wanted to make it up to Johanna. He would do anything to stop them. He felt terrible; and every new comment made Clark feel even worse.
