They were sitting on the park swings when he tried to tell her. It was a long day of being a junior in high school, and they wanted to go to the place where they went as kids. It brought back so many memories for Clark: playing in the sandbox with his dad, going down the slide while laughing his head off, picnics with his family, and also hanging out with Johanna.

Clark looked over at Johanna. She tugged at one of the sleeves of her sweater, her eyes watching the ground. Sweater Girl, Clark thought to himself with a small smirk. He'd always called her that. It started when he first met her and he noticed she almost always wore sweaters. She had always worn sweaters. Even in her family photos she had to have one on, and Clark thought that was pretty funny.

Clark was about to say something to her, but then he swallowed his words down. Sometimes he wished he could just tell her how he really felt about her. Or, he wished they could just talk about something forever; it could be about anything, Clark didn't care. But he knew that would probably never happen; only in his dreams.

"Clark," Johanna swallowed, "I... I need to tell you something. T-that I haven't told anyone."

"Go ahead." Clark replied. His heart thumped fast and he had butterflies in his stomach. What if she was telling him that-? No, Clark thought, stop it.

"W-well..." Johanna squeaked. "I've been meaning to tell you this for a long time... I.." She stopped talking again, shutting her eyes tight shut, and took a deep breath. He could tell that she was struggling to find the right words.

"What, Johanna?" Clark asked, putting his hand on her shoulder.. "You can tell me, I'm here for you."

Johanna took a deep breath and then looked at him in the eyes. "I... I think I might like girls. I think I might be a lesbian."
