Alex POV will be in Italic 

"Ugh" I groan as I sit up. There's a ringing pain in my head when I raise it. I look around seeing all my siblings gathered around me. But the one person I expected to see the most, Elissa, is not here. She wanted to be a medic so she normally helps us all when we're either sick or  injured. 

I look around in confusion, Jonah my second youngest brother sees me and says, "she's not here. Levi took her a-a-a-and", he hiccups and tears start streaming down his face. 

He's really close to Elissa so whatever happened must have been horrible since he's normally pretty emotionless. 

My stomach starts to twist in fear and o have butterflies in my stomach. I'm scared for Elissa and now I really want to know if she's okay. 

"And," he finally continues, "she's gonna be killed in 10 days."

  "What!" I scream, 'Elissa dead, dying...no...she's can't... we were all supposed to escape together..'  

My anxiety is making me spiral again. I've had anxiety since I was a little kid. I grew up in a rough family. I was the middle child of 14 kids, (my mom was a prostitute so we almost never had the same dad) none of us knew who our dads were and we just accepted that fact. My oldest brother was almost 13 years older than me and my youngest sister was 7 years younger than me. 

Because we were such a big family, my mom worked all day everyday and so some of my family stayed at home to look after the youngest. If we were old enough we would work as well. While some of my siblings had normal jobs many of us worked dirty jobs that if we got caught we could get arrested. I ended up working for a loan shark with one of my brothers and two of my sisters. 

The stress of having to meet deadlines or I would be killed starting my anxiety. It got worse when my brother John got kidnapped because he didn't meet a deadline. I never saw him again, another one of my sisters got arrested for being associated with the loan shark. 

But, when my mom couldn't pay rent even with all of our salaries combined, she unknowingly got sucked in by a loan shark. The same loanshark we worked for. I had recently discovered they were actually part of a small Mafia group that had been slowly growing over the past ten years. 

One month, my mom couldn't meet the requirements so my boss told me to kill her. But I couldn't kill my mom so I told her to run and hide as I did the same. I was in hiding when the Ebs attacked, that's what let me survive for as long as I did without being caught. 

I eventually came out of hiding when I ran out of food and that's when they caught me. But not before I saw the damage done to the world, there were bodies strewn everywhere, blood all over and buildings falling down. The first few days I was with them I was a total mess. I cried and sobbed for them to either let me go or kill me. 

But, one day a girl came into my cell. I thought she was gonna hurt me so my anxiety spiked, she knew what to do though. Using the five-step method she calmed me down and it worked. However, she's not her right now, and my breathing is rough and ragged, I'm hyperventilating.

 Suddenly, I feel something wrap around me, I lean into them my twisted mind making me think they're Elissa's arms. As I start to calm down, breathing more normal again, until those arms tighten and I realize they're slimy and definitely not Elissa's arms. 

I feel the tentacles tighten around my chest squeezing my arms like I'm in straight jacket. They're squeezing too tight I can't breathe, my lungs can't get any air in my system. My mouth opens in a silent scream, as I try to gasp for help. 

My vision starts to go black and I start to accept that I'm gonna pass out and possibly die. I stop my pitiful struggling and focus on trying to get air into my lungs. Right, as I think I'm gonna pass out the tentacles loosen and release. I take a huge breath of air, trying to fill my lungs. The Eb leaves as if it had just come to torment me and now that it had it lost interest. 

I look around my room, it's just Sam, Aurora, and me. Sam looks at me, "I moved them to the other cell." Normally all the cells are connected so we can mingle about with each other. Elissa's cell is the only one that's not connected. She kept trying to escape so they put her in a more secure remote location. 

My question still hasn't been answered though. I turn towards same and ask, "Where's Elissa." 

Well it's not really a cliffhanger but ehhhh anyways some of the next chapters will be a little darker I think but it will eventually get better. I hope you liked the POV change as well. I thought I'd try something different.
