The mess hall was loud, as usual. Amid the jumble of voices, Lily couldn't single out any one voice. Everyone was there, the new Avengers team was much larger than the older one. Instead of simply picking and choosing, Lily had welcomed them all, this way all super-powered kids had somewhere safe to stay and learn to control their powers. Then she had chosen which ones to send on missions. There were about 25 kids living in the training facility. Only 10 of them were sent on missions. 

 Lily sat down at the corner table and looked around. The operatives that made up the New Avengers team always sat together at meals, they were older than the others, and were all related to members of the old team. Looking around Lily did I quick count. Dean and Samuel Barnes were wrestling over the last cheeseburger, but Mila Barnes sat silently, staring ahead, picking at her meal. Pulling her gaze away from Mila, Lily watched the Banner siblings pouring over science notes. They were trying to build a time machine, which, was impossible. They both knew that, but Lily knew they were determined to prove science wrong. Sarah Rogers and Lila Barton were discussing mission tactics. Tauren was tossing grapes up into the air and catching them in her mouth, Lily watched as Hela sent a bolt of magic into the grapes, causing it to explode in Tauren's face. Liam Stark was sitting against the wall, sound asleep. Probably hungover. 

  These were the ones Lily had hand-picked to be the New Avengers. Samuel Barnes and Dean Barnes AKA Shrapnel and Arsenal were the sons of Bucky Barnes and Vatoni Black. They were master Assassins, Shrapnel an expert in bombs and arson; Arsenal an expert in weaponry and knife fighting. Mila Barnes was Bucky and Vatoni's adopted daughter, they had rescued her from a Red Room program when she was eight and adopted her. Mila AKA Rogue, was a master Assassin as well, she was an expert in both hand to hand combat and in the use of a bo-staff. She could also conduct electricity, this had earned her the nickname Spark Plug from her brothers. Bella and Adam Banner were the twins of Natasha and Bruce Banner. Bella was as gifted in Combat as her mother, but She was a pacifist. She helped the team by designing the weapons and gadgets used by the other members of the team. Adam had anger management issues, but he didn't hulk out like his father. Sarah Rogers had taken up the mantle of Captain America after her father was killed, Lily wanted to make her team leader when she was older. Lila Barton AKA Eagle-Eye was an expert archer, just liker her father had been. The two Asguardians, Hela and Tauren were cousins. Hela was the daughter of Loki and an Asguardian named Namara, but she had done everything she could to prove that she wasn't like her father. She was fiercely loyal to her cousin Tauren, and they were extremely close. Tauren was only half Asguardian, so she wasn't nearly as strong as Hela. She was the daughter of Jane Foster and Thor, Tauren had a massive silver sword that she could use to summon lightning. Liam Stark had become the new IronMan when his father died, but he had re-painted the IronMan armour blue and black. 

  All in all, they were a smart group, and Lily trusted them with her life. She looked around at the mess, there were other super powered individuals, but none of them were ready to be Avengers. The two most likely to be made Avengers any time soon were Recluse and Glider. Recluse was the daughter of SpiderMan and Glider the daughter of Harry Osborne AKA Green Goblin. 

  "Steven Dean Barnes, give that back!," Mila's angry hiss caught Lily's attention. Mila only used her brothers first name when she was really mad. Bucky had names his oldest son after his best friend, Steven, but Dean mostly went by his middle name. 

  Standing up, Lily headed for her bunk, leaving the mess. She had a lot weighing on her mind.
