The problem with Shigaraki || Kurogiri is a fan of cats

// I realized that I have a lot of things and chapters planned out for this story, so I'll stuff two scenarios into one chapter, is that alright?? It'll take me longer to update but this is better in the long run since I really want to do this story. I've run outta brain juice 4 now tho expect the next update maybe next week //

Aizawa yawns a little, waking up from his sleep, seriously annoyed. He was having a nice sleep, it helped that it was raining outside at the moment, really makes it a nice mood to sleep- then someone knocks on his apartment, rings the doorbell nonstop and- he's annoyed. He sighed as he got up, leaving his bedroom, he opens the door.

"What do you want-"

"EraserHead." A familiar voice and a tuff of white hair greets, Aizawa stares and eyes him from head to toe. He was drenching wet, "I got caught in the rain and I remembered that your apartment is nearby."

"Why do you know where I live?" Aizawa asks, his arms crossed, leaning on the door, a brow rose, Tomura shrugs.

"No offense, EraserHead, it's awfully cold, can't you let me in?" He asked, he sounded even a little smug, Aizawa squints his eye suspiciously before he sighed, letting the shivering teen inside.

"What made you caught up in the rain anyways?" He asked, leading Tomura to his bathroom, he gave him a towel, "I'll get you something to wear."

"Thanks EraserHead, you're really cool." Tomura says, before he disappears inside of the bathroom, Aizawa sighs, before he left, he comes back a few moments later, he leaves the towel and the shirt there before he knocks on the door and leaves to the kitchen.

It was awfully cold outside, something warm might help. Aizawa would offer him a cup of tea but Aizawa doesn't have tea, all he has are coffee beans and hot chocolate mixes, he also has some milk in the fridge but it's made specially for cats, he doesn't want Tomura to drink that. Ultimately, he makes two cups of hot chocolate, he didn't really want to drink coffee and be energized. Rain is a sleeping weather, he doesn't want to be up, wide and awake for it.

He got back to the living room, Tomura was still patting his hair dry with the towel, already dressed up, he grins wickedly when he sees Aizawa, "EraserHead. Thanks for the shower."

"You're welcome, have a sit. And tell me exactly why you know where I live." He sat down, placing the mugs down, Tomura does that loopdy loop with the towel and his hair and takes the mug, his pinkies out. Fancy. Aizawa takes his own mug and sips.

"You see. I wasn't actually expecting it to be you. If it was anyone else I would've bashed their head in and taken the apartment for myself."

"Yeah right. Like I'd believe that." Aizawa spats, Tomura laughs in response.

"You're funny." Tomura says, like he wasn't the one joking. Well, whatever.

"If anyone comes barging in that I don't know, I'm gonna assume you sold me out."

"Oh I would never, you're so cruel. Is this how you treat a guest?"

"You're hardly a guest Tomura, you're more of an unexpected visitor." Tomura smirks at that.

"Would you like me to leave then?"

Aizawa was about to answer, then he heard the crackle of lightning loudening outside, Aizawa hates how Tomura looked smugger, damnit. Aizawa can't send someone out in that weather, he sighs in defeat.

"You're sleeping on the couch."

"Good enough."

_______________

Aizawa wakes up early morning.

Aizawa's a fairly light sleeper despite how it looks. He stirred awake, hearing someone open his door and his eyes snap open immediately afterwards, black eyes meeting reds. Tomura looked surprised for a moment, before he had that creepy grin on his face again, "You sure wake up easy EraserHead."

"What are you doing?" He asked.

"I was planning to stare at you. I don't get to see you closeup often."

"Yeah right." Aizawa squints suspiciously before he turns the other direction and huddles in deeper in his blanket. A few moments later, he hears his door click open again and he sighs.

Weird kid.

_____________

Aizawa almost forgets about the encounter, he leaves a little late since he had a session with Shinso again and stills in his tracks on his way out of the gates. Tomura was standing there, even with the hoodie covering him, Aizawa knew those chapped skin and red eyes, along with the slight bit tuff of white poking out, Aizawa sighed and walked to him.

"Tomura."

"EraserHead, you sure like to make me wait." Tomura paused, before he turned, "Follow me."

"Tomura, I have someone I have to meet after this." He says, Tomura looked back at him, his face blank, before he grabs Aizawa's sleeve and starts to drag him away- "Tomura- I'm not joking I have someone to-"

"I don't care, meet them tomorrow." He grunts, sounding a little annoyed, Aizawa bit his lip, no doubt Dabi would be waiting for him. Even if Dabi was a little late or 5 minutes before the session end late, he's never skipped out on Aizawa before, because he knew Aizawa was waiting for him, and in return, if Aizawa was a little late, he also never skipped.

It's their fault for not exchanging numbers, he'll make sure to do that. He sighed as he let Tomura drag him away to whatever problem he has.

"What's your problem?"

"Got involved with some people I didn't want to be involved with, you're a hero, right? I can't go to the police so take care of it." Aizawa's eyes widened before he held unto his scarves, he knew it. Tomura did have that kind of problem! "I've been trying to get rid of them for awhile but I figured you can take care of it if I can't."

Aizawa buries himself to his scarf, he's heard these kinda stories too many times and they always end up with tragedies, he agrees, sometimes going to the police just isn't the best option, he grits his teeth, he'll make sure that won't happen with Tomura. Aizawa will apologize to Dabi, this is much more important.

Tomura stops by just before an alleyway, Aizawa nods and shoots himself up with his scarf to watch the view from above, Tomura get in, three different people. Aizawa's eyes widened as he hissed, he knew it. As soon as he got a better look, there's no doubt, they were villains. He doesn't remember their names very well but he knew that those faces are on a wanted list, now there's really no way he can ignore this.

Tomura comes over and talks, presumably wanting to break away- it immediately gets heated and when one of them reaches out to attack Tomura, Aizawa saw red.

In a few minutes, they were tied up, Aizawa quickly gagging them with his scarves as well, Aizawa raises up his phone up but stills, "Tomura, you should get away from here first. You might get dragged into this." And tested, he doesn't want to get Tomura tested. If he had enough courage to ask Aizawa for help.... then he deserves a second chance. Tomura smiles at him.

"Thanks EraserHead, you're really cool. I'll pay you back sometime."

"There's no need, I'm a hero. It's my job." Tomura laughs a bit before he leaves. The three villains looked pale, struggling, seems like they wanted to say something, probably trying to call Tomura back. He's not letting that happen. He'll explain to the police the situation. For now....

Tomura grins as he left, smug. Now he knows an easy way to dispose of traitors. Who knew he could weaponize Aizawa's soft heart like this? Cool? Yes. But how incredibly Naive.... Eraserhead.....

__________

Dabi grits his teeth, his fists clenched. The only thing stopping him from burning this place down was the cute little cats cuddled up to him. Where the hell is his teacher? He's so annoyed. So annoyed, so annoyed so annoyed so annoyed- his eyes light up when Aizawa slams the door open to the cafe, panting a bit, it looked like he was in a hurry. Relief immediately fills him.

"S-Sorry I'm late. I had something to do."

"Usually, I'm the late one, what happened?" He asked, trying to hide his annoyance to the situation, something tells him he didn't hide it well as Aizawa flinched a bit.

"Had to help a kid. I got caught up in it, sorry." He murmured, Dabi sighs, course he's would, he's just that type of person, huh?

"It's fine. But I want online lessons. You can check my homework at your house."

"I can't believe you'll actually insist on that." Aizawa says, but he takes the paper and stuffs it in his bag, "Ah. I guess I should give you my number." He said, taking out his phone.

Alright, looks like this day wasn't so bad after all.

"You still owe me."

"I know." Aizawa says, ignoring the fact that Dabi has done this kind of thing not just once before.

Kurogiri was doing groceries. He firmly believes there is no need to crash out of grocery stores. That's why they rob banks after all, what's the use of all that money if they're not going to use it to buy supplies? They can't keep making ruckus by targeting groceries and raiding, some things can be done the peaceful way- well, aside from the whole bank robbing thing, still, being on the news because of that is good publicity, repeatedly raiding grocery stores however, was just not something the league of villains will stand by for its name.

Well that's what Kurogiri thinks, Tomura thinks otherwise but Kurogiri nagged him enough that he lets Kurogiri handles this section instead.

Honestly, he thought he was just a breathing, hunk of a shell of what he once was before this, he wasn't sure why his righteousness came out like this- he wasn't sure why he's even feeling this way. Ever since he picked up that stray cat from the rain..... he's been feeling off.

He knows he only serves one purpose, serve and care for Tomura. Yet he picked that crying kitten up and brought him inside. At first Tomura was annoyed before the cat rubbed on his legs and sat on his lap and he decided it wasn't that annoying anymore. Now he cares for that cat, and he still wasn't sure why. There's just something about it's little paws and little meows that draws him near, pulling him like a memory, beckoning-

"I don't suggest that brand. It has a lot of fillers and isn't very nutritious for cats." He stills, hearing a familiar voice from the side, the hand that stilled him from putting it in his cart, Aizawa.

He's met the man before, Tomura brought him in the bar once and the man immediately went for the cat he picked up, petting her, he seems like someone who knows a lot about cats, Kurogiri nods and puts it away. Aizawa gives him another brand, it's a little pricier but only by a hundred yen, "this one is better, it's a little more expensive but it'll be worth it. Vet bills are more expensive than cat food." Kurogiri nods.

"Do you mind me asking a few more questions then?" Kurogiri asks, Aizawa seems a bit surprised at his voice, but nods. It doesn't seem like he knows him, that's good. He makes idle chatter with Aizawa, the man giving him tips and pushing products for the kitten in his cart, he seems to know his stuff well.

"You might not know me, but I work in that bar Tomura has dragged you in before, would you like to visit?" He says, "I've never heard that kitten meow and purr that much. It would be nice to hear it again."

Kurogiri isn't sure why those words came out of him. He was only asking for tips yet now he's asking this man to come visit. Was the... was their conversation pleasant? He can't help but feel a bit warm when Aizawa's features soften from the news, and he doesn't know why but he wants it to happen again, "of course, lead the way."

They pay for their groceries, Kurogiri walks, as he doesn't want Aizawa to know about his quirk just yet although it would seem that the man is forming some ideas. It has been a long while since he walked this long, usually he'd just walk in an alley and make a portal there from there and back to the bar.

It can't be help since the man works in UA. What a shame.

He gets inside and the tabby immediately meows, it looks at Kurogiri for a second, before it ignores him in favor of climbing on top of Aizawa.

Figures, Kurogiri is mostly formless and cold, the kitten would want something warm. He pauses as he sees Aizawa smile, picking up the cat. He stares for a few seconds before he walks in, "I'll arrange the groceries for a bit, excuse me." Kurogiri bows before he disappears at the back to fill the pantry.

He comes back to Aizawa sitting on one of the bar stools, the kitten was purring loudly, nestled in his scarves, Kurogiri fills the plastic bowl in he counter with the new cat food and the kitten stirs awake, it meows, smelling the scent of food, looking up to Aizawa as it struggles to get out of the scarves, the man's features softened as he pulled the kitten out and let it eat. It meowed hungrily as it ate.

"Usually that happens when they're really hungry, it's to try and ward of predators. You just picked her up recently, right?" Kurogiri nods, "she might be a little insecure of her food, does anyone mess with her?"

"Toga sometimes pulls her bowl away from her when she's here." Aizawa's brows furrowed.

"I see. Does she do this often?"

"No. Just when Toga is around and.... just now."

"Aside from food insecurity, they also do this when they enjoy their food a lot."

"Oh."

Kurogiri's metal body, for just a moment, felt warm. He isn't sure how to feel ( if he can even feel ). They watch in silence as the small kitten ate, and it was enough- more than enough for the both of them.

"You should consider getting a stainless steel bowl for her- have you given her a name yet?"

"I'll consider it, and no." Kurogiri says, "we just call her cat."

"How mean." Aizawa snorts a bit, "what would you like to name her then?"

Kurogiri paused, before he replied, "I'll ask Tomura-"

"No." Aizawa snickers, "Tomura would name it weirdly, you should name it, and I'm asking you. Not him, you're the one who brought him in, didn't you?"

.....

"Sushi." He says, "I would name her sushi." Aizawa pauses for a second, then he looked up at him.

"Why sushi? She's a tabby."

"....I don't know, but if I were to have her a name. It would be that." Aizawa stares at him for a moment, then back at 'sushi' who meows.

"Well, seems like she agrees with it. Her name is Sushi then." There's a slight strain in Aizawa's voice, even in his features, the tabby just meows and jumps back down his lap, his features softened immediately. Kurogiri isn't sure why he's being so attentive.

"Sushi," Kurogiri repeats, the little kitten meows back at the sound of her name, Aizawa chuckles as he pets the small kitten who purrs, and Kurogiri can't take his eyes off the scene.

"....I have to go, I have work tomorrow." Aizawa sighs, placing the kitten back the counter, Kurogiri stares, Sushi immediately tries to get back on him but Aizawa smiles as he pets her, "you'll be fine." Aizawa glances up at Kurogiri for a moment before he looked back down the kitten, "He'll take care of you."

"My name is Kurogiri."

"....Kurogiri will take care of you." For some reason, Kurogiri's name sounded foreign on his tongue, how odd. Aizawa smiles, "I'll come back when I'm free, I'll see you su-...."

.....

A single tear escapes Aizawa's eye. Kurogiri doesn't comment on it as he left, he didn't ask why Aizawa couldn't say her name, he didn't ask why he was crying. One thing for sure, the bar felt cold, and he realizes exactly why Sushi doesn't like the cold.

It's unbearable.
