Chapter 5
~Izuku POV~
If there was one thing I could say about today, I'd call it eventful. A tad bit annoying but it wasn't boring at the very least. Though after finally getting Shyarly's house fixed, got a clean bill of health from the doctor and was about to head out for unfinished business. Then a crew of dumbasses invaded, interrupting my lunch and making my mood turn sour. Dealt with them quickly so I could get back to the girls and eat lunch. And then, by the work of god, the guards decided to show up.
Which leads me to now, being bound in chains and dragged through the salty deep sea waters. On my way to god knows where with who knows what I'll end up needing to punch through. Yeah, this day just keeps getting better and better, doesn't it? I'd let out a deep undersea sigh if I could, but then decided I needed to be gagged as well. I seriously don't get how Setsuna enjoys this, but so long as Ibara doesn't get out the whips I won't question it.
Where was i? I was busy mentally preparing myself for whatever cell I'd be locked in. Potentially having to duke it out with the most dangerous criminals of the Ryugu Kingdom. My knuckles cracking in anticipation for how many faces I'd be punching soon. That is until I caught sight of a very familiar copy of a well known wish granting dragon with seven balls. I wasn't given much time to question it before I was dragged into the building.
Whatever was happening was either really good or really bad. Soon enough I was brought into a large hall and thrown across the floor. Rolling through the waters with the heavy chains dragging me down. Landing on my back, barely noticing the towering figure standing before me as my bounds came undone.
"Ow, my fin." I groaned as I slowly stood up from the floor. Where I was met by the familiar sight of the shark merman I had met some days ago. Alongside him were two others, though I was confused on why one of them was dancing.
"Apologies for the rough meeting. Jamon ." A voice came from behind me. Turning back I was met with a giant bearded merman sitting atop a throne. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this was King Neptune.
"Oh, no! It's fine, I love being bound, gagged and thrown across a room." I say sarcastically, making some of the others laugh.
"Great! That was my idea! So La Ti Do! " A lanky merman....sang? Am I getting punked right now?
"Yeah, If y'all wanted to talk to me a letter would have sufficed. Or a phone call, maybe." I take a deep sigh to calm down. "So what's this about?"
"We have simply brought you here to speak with you! Akkamanbo! "
"And to thank you for your actions the other day." The shark merman said, seemingly the only normal one here. "Firstly, introductions. I am Fukaboshi, first son of King Neptune."
"I am Ryuboshi! Second son of King Neptune! So La Ti Do! "
"And I'm Monboshi! Third son of King Neptune! Akkamanbo! "
"And let me guess, your name is Steve?" I asked in a sarcastic tone while aiming a glance at Neptune.
"No, I am King Neptune. I have never met anyone named 'Steve.'"
"Well I'm Izuku Midoriya. Son of Inko Midoriya and a late fishman captain I will not be naming until later. I come from a small unnamed island off the coast of Japan. I am a Cancer. I enjoy fishing, swimming, cooking, hunting pirates, eating katsudon, and playing with my child. I dislike discrimination, most marines, most pirates, and being in the desert."
"Are you so ashamed of your father that you refuse to say his name? Jamon. "
"Oh no! Far from it! I am very proud to call him my father. I just want to wait till I meet with Jinbe because I want to see all their faces when they find out!" I laughed with vigor.
"You wish to speak to the Sun Pirates?" Fukaboshi queried with a raised eyebrow. "Was your father a former member?"
"You could say that." I nervously chuckled. "Anything else? Cause I was in the middle of lunch before all of this."
"We actually have notified Jinbe. We had assumed that you were affiliated with them from the mark on your chest. He will be here shortly if you wish to wait longer. We can have a meal prepared as well. Just a small token of appreciation. Jamon. "
"I want to say no since I don't really expect thanks but I also don't want to be rude and turn down a free meal." I sighed, a small gurgle escaping from my stomach. Damn shark appetite! "So yeah, if it isn't any trouble."
"Of course not! And while we're at it we can get a doctor for you. Your fin is a bit bent. So La Ti Do! "
"Wait? Really?" I question, trying my best to take a look at my back. "Huh? I guess it is. Weird."
"How did you not feel that? Akkamanbo! "
"I took an exploding battleship at point blank and healed pretty much completely in about a week. For argument's sake, let's just say pain is just something I've grown used to. Hell! I've been shot and never noticed until the bullet fell out!"
I laughed, leaving them in quite a bit of shock. A guard was soon tasked to bring me to a doctor to reset my fin and check for anything else that may be wrong. Which really didn't take too long. It was literally over in a snap. Sure that snap was my fin, something that is absolutely crucial for a shark to live. I'd be in some deep shit if I ended up actually losing it! What's that chill going down my back?
*GRUMBLE*
"Oh, right. Food." I broke out my thoughts by the sound of my stomach. Anyway it was time to follow.....the..........guard? Where did he go? Oh, crap! I lost the guard! I'm lost!
So with no other options, I just kept on walking. I was bound to get somewhere eventually if I just kept looking around. Hopefully the rest of the guards have been informed about me and can help me find my way. I mean, it's not like I'm just going to get even more lost. Right?
~20 Minutes Later~
Yeah, I definitely got even more lost. And I somehow made it outside of the palace, near the top of a tower. It's got a pretty cool view though, and I even got to see a megalodon! Seriously, didn't those go extinct? Just my luck that I didn't have my camera on me.
"Ha! Maybe if I find the highest room in the tallest tower I'll find a princess!" I laughed aloud, slightly hoping someone heard me and would help me.
*GRUMBLE*
"Will you shut? You think I'm trying to starve us?"
*GRUMBLE*
"Oh! Don't you dare start talking shit to me! I will destroy you!"
*GRUMBLE*
"Why am I even talking to you? It's not like I'm just gonna run into a big cart full of food near and open door while I'm out here." I growled at my stomach as I kept on walking. Then a smell started to hit my nose. A warm aroma calling out to me. In my hunger induced stupor I had no choice but to follow it.
And lo and behold, it was there. A huge cart filled with giant plates galore filled with foods. Fruit tarts. Pasta. Steak. Oh my! I don't know why it's here but by golly am I gonna eat some! I'll just leave behind some money or something. I don't even care if it's in a dark room blocked with giant metal doors!
"And in we go." I slipped inside as the doors were still slightly open. "What's this? The storeroom? No, they wouldn't put cooked food in here then." I say as I start to hop towards the food. Not even questioning why it was in here any further.
I took one large leap of faith and found myself on what I could only assume was some kind of table.
*BOING*
A really soft and warm table that was not at all table-like to begin with. Probably just coral or something. I didn't think too much about it so I continued on my mission to feed myself. At least, that was the plan before I hit a wall. A very soft and springy, yet firm, wall that sent me back a few feet.
"What the heck?" I stepped back to the wall and gave it a good squeeze. Weird how it somehow feels familiar, like I held something like it before. "Geeze, this is becoming troublesome." I groaned as I climbed up the mound.
*BOING*
"Mmmm." What was that? Was there someone else in here trying to swipe food? Better get back to work then before they catch me.
I tried to take a step but I lost my footing when the ground below me started moving. I fell on my back and started bouncing on the springy surface. Quickly being flung into another mound before I grabbed hold of something stiff to regain my balance.
"Huh?" I hear a young female gasp before the ground starts moving again. "Who's there?" The woman started panicking as the ground stood upright. Causing me to lose my grip and fall onto a new surface.
The lights flickered on, illuminating that giant bedroom we were in. And that I was currently in this person's bed. I heard the faint sound of sniffing, which got my attention quickly. My eyes widening as I felt myself staring up at the giant figure sitting before me. She has very long, flowing pink hair with a taiyaki-shaped hair grip. Dressed in a yellow halter top covered in pearls that hugged her, even relative to her size, large breasts. Her mermaid tail was long light red and pink stripes and slightly ruffled at the end of it.
I couldn't make out any words as I gazed upon her. Some men have heard rumors of the most beautiful woman in the world, but those fell short of what I was seeing today. This girl before me was just so....so......so......
'SO CUTE!!!!!!!'
"W-who are you?" She questioned, tears threatening to spill from her eyes. I just could find my voice to answer her. "I-I'm not scared! You're scared! I-I'm the daughter of Neptune! A-and....A-and...."
She didn't finish her sentence as she started sobbing. Her tears fell to the ground, which I had to dodge because of how big they were. I tried to reason with her but it all fell on deaf ears as she continued bawling.
"P-Papa! Big Brother! Please help me!" She screamed. At this rate the guards will probably show up soon. And boy this will not look good for me. "There's a stranger in my room! He tried to assault me! Please help me!"
"Hey! No! It was an accident I swear!" I yelled, still dodging her teardrops."I'm a guest here! I just got lost is all! I'm sorry!" I continued to try to reason with her but it was of no use. Suddenly, a wave of worry washed over me. I looked towards the still opened doors and caught a faint glint of metal flying through the air.
Through the opening through the doors a giant ax flew in. Spinning its way to her. I flashed back to the day of the incident. How those weapons had exploded upon impact. She was too busy crying to get out of the way. I jumped into the in front of her, kicking the giant blade. There was a heavy push behind it, forcing its way to try and hit her.
"I.....was in the middle......of a........CONVERSATION!!!!!!" I yelled angrily as I deflected the attacking object, sending it flying in pieces out of the room. "Son of a clam!" I fell back to the ground. Noticing that her cries had finally ceased.
"Hey!" I caught her attention. "Are you al-"
"PRINCESS SHIRAHOSHI!!!!"
'Oh shit the guards are here! Where am I gonna hide? What am I gonna say? Crap! Crap! Crap! Crap!'
I was cut off from my thoughts when a giant hand wrapped around. I didn't have a chance to question her before she hastily hid me away from view. The sound of footsteps making their way into the room sending a shiver down my spine. But right now I had to be still and quiet so they wouldn't notice me. Which was hard since the girl, bless her heart, frantically stuffed me in her breasts to hide me!
"Princess! We heard you screaming! Are you alright?! Why is the door open?!"
"I-I'm s-sorry everyone." She stuttered out, rubbing her eyes that were a bit red and puffy from her crying. "I-I had a nightmare and saw the door was left open. I-I thought someone snuck in. I was so scared." She said, more tears starting to build up.
"It's alright princess. We're just glad you're safe."
"But why was the door left open?"
"Probably just an accident. Can't really hold someone accountable for that."
"Boss! There's some rust on the hinges!"
"We'll just have maintenance fix that up soon then."
"Sir, we need to go! Times up."
"Alright. We need to leave, princess. Let us know if anything happens."
"Okay. Thank you. Sorry again." She waved off the soldiers as they left the room. Sighing before she grabbed me out of her cleavage.
"Sweet air!" I yelled as I took a deep breath.
"I'm sorry." She spoke softly, setting me down at her desk beside her plates of food.
"It's fine. It's a normal reaction to have when you are in a situation like that." I chuckled with a small smile to cheer her up. "So your name is Shirahoshi, right?"
"Yes. I'm the Mermaid Princess Shirahoshi. The only daughter of the Ryugu Royal family and youngest of Neptune's children."
"Gosh. If I knew I'd be meeting so many royals today I'd have worn a tie." I laughed at my own joke, Shirahoshi joining in quietly. "Again. I'm sorry for scaring you. I was just lost and had no idea where I was going. Not to mention I was a bit......"
*GRUMBLE*
"Hungry?" She asked with a slight giggle as I rubbed my head in embarrassment. "You can have some of my food if you'd like. As a thank you for saving me."
"I don't need a thank you for helping someone. Especially from a cute girl like you." I say with a smile, though the continued rumbles from my stomach made it hard to take seriously. "But if it's really okay with you."
"Of course." She said, her face slightly red with a smile. "Have as much as you like, I have plenty of snacks too." She said, pulling out a huge box of animal crackers.
"Thanks for the food." I clapped my hands briefly before taking a giant claim from the plate. Ultimately deciding to forgo any form of table manners, and praying my mother never finds out about it, I scooped out the meat of it and began scarfing it down. "So good!"
"I know! The chefs work so hard to make lots of good food for me!" She smiled, taking her giant fork for a bite of pasta. "Seafood pasta is my favorite, and I just can't help but be surprised with how big they make for me."
"Yeah it must take a lot of time to do it." I comment, taking a bite of a giant shrimp followed by a long slurp of an, at least, four meter long noodle.
"You sure do eat a lot for someone so small." She giggled as she poked my cheek, almost making me spit out my food.
"Please don't do that again. That hurt." I said, coughing slightly.
"I-I'm sorry." She squeaked, more tears starting to form in her eyes.
"H-hey! Don't worry, I'm not mad or anything." I handed her a napkin to wipe her tears away. "You don't hang out with people much, do you?"
"N-no, no one's allowed in here for more than five minutes. It can get lonely at times."
"Sounds like it sucks. Why are you even locked in here anyway? Does it have anything to do with the ax from earlier?" I asked, noticing a shift in her mood. Her once curious and happy smile was now replaced by a low and depressed expression. "It's okay if you don't want to talk about it. It's none of my business really." I say, continuing to munch on some seafood.
"It's just, outside of my family, this is the longest I ever talked to anyone in nearly ten years. Since the day the axes and swords first started to rain down on me."
"The other day, I intercepted a large number of them. It's how I met your brother, Fukaboshi, he said that someone with a devil fruit was sending them and that's how they keep getting here."
"Yes, at first it was just love letters but after I rejected them, they just started throwing weapons. It got so bad they needed to lock me in here for my own safe keeping." Shirhoshi sniffled light as she wiped away some oncoming tears. "I didn't mean to hurt his feelings, it's just that he isn't my type. And I'm not ready to marry anyone!" She started crying again..
"Ah! Tears! Watch the tears please!" I panicked as some of them nearly fell on me.
"S-sorry!" She apologized, quickly wiping them away. "I just....I just wish I could go outside! Go for a walk! Make friends! Megalo keeps telling me stories about everything that's going on but I just want to see my home with my own eyes!"
"Megalo? Wait, you have a pet megalodon?!"
"Yes! He's my very bestest friend! And my only friend." Her mood was low again. Poor girl's not even able to leave her room anymore.
'Hmm....I think I'll just need to.....talk with this guy.' I sneer, quickly hiding it since I didn't want to worry her. "Well then, how about I become your second friend then?"
"R-really?! Y-You'll be my friend?!" I nodded at her question with a smile. Happy that her mood was lifted. "THANK YOU!!!!" She cried again, but at the very least they were joyful tears. Of course, she then proceeded to grab hold of me and press me against her face. "Thank you! You have no idea how much this means to me!"
'I think I do.' I think as she continued to nuzzle me. 'But I'm glad I can make you happy.' I let out a snicker while she let out her tears. Luckily it didn't take too long for her to stop and let me go.
"So little friend, what do you want to do now?"
"I'd really like to go for a walk in the forest, but I don't think it'll be a good idea." She said quietly, a faint glint of sadness in her eyes.
"Well then I promise to take you someday." I tell her, getting a shocked look from her.
"R-really?! You mean it?!"
"Yup! Heck! I even made it a picnic! Does that sound nice?"
"Yes!" She smiled happily, I could swear I saw her tail was wagging. "Do you promise?"
"I'll do you one better, I'll pinky promise!" I smirked, putting up my pinky jokingly. Though she then proceeded to bring her pinky over to me. Things are really starting to get serious right now. "Okay, this is something me and my mother would do back when I was a little pup. Are you ready?"
"Ready!" She smiled with excitement.
"Okay." I pressed my pinky against her, and with a deep breath, I began. "Pinky swear so if I lie stick a thousand needles in my eye!" Her eyes sparkled with childlike glee as I spoke. "And sealed with a kiss!" I finish, pressing my thumb against the tip of her finger.
"You're really silly, you know that?" She smiled, her cheeks slightly turning red. "But I really like it."
"That's great. So long as it makes you happy it doesn't have to make sense." I chuckled, Shirahoshi joining in on the laughter soon after. "So, anything else you'd like?" She pondered for a few seconds, turning a bit sheepish for a moment.
"Could, maybe, tell me a story? Please?" She requested, using some of her hair to hide her embarrassed expression.
"How is she so darn cute?' I smiled at her. "Sure. How about the story of how I fought a giant island eating goldfish and lived to tell the tale?" I asked and she already seemed entranced by the idea.
~Outside the Room~ ~No POV~
Just outside the metal doors of Shirahoshi's room stood five individuals. Neptune, Monboshi, and Ryuboshi were pressed up against the door, glass cups to their ears as they tried to listen in on the conversation between the two new friends. Off to the side stood Fukaboshi, who deadpanned at his family's anitics. Beside him was First Son of the Sea Jinbe, current captain of the Sun Pirates.
"I'm so happy I could cry! Jamon! "
"Our baby sister has a new friend! So La Ti Do! " he wiped his cheerful tears away. "I couldn't be any happier right now!"
"I'm so elated I could just dance till I drop dead! Akkamanbo! "
"Just what is going on here?" Jinbe questions, sharing a similar expression as the crowned prince.
"That newcomer we had told you about somehow got into Shirahoshi's room and now it seems they've gotten close."
"A nice sentiment indeed, but I do wish to speak to him soon."
"Wait for him to finish the story first! Akkamanbo! "
"He just said he ate a T-Rex with two giants! How glorious an experience! So La Ti Do! "
"My dear sweet Otohime! Our daughter has met someone wonderful! JAMON!!!!" Neptune's eyes flowed like waterfalls as he failed to wipe his tears away. "If you were here today you would surely speak of wedding bells and grandchildren!"
"Should I perhaps reschedule this for another time?"
"Jinbe, this is likely going to be the best time to settle things." Fukaboshi placed a hand on the whaleshark fish-man's shoulder. "And if I must sit through this, then so do you."
Jinbe could only sigh in defeat as the two took a seat, watching as the three continued to listen in on the tale. Losing interest after the mention of clowns being from space. The two sighed as their demeanor grew serious on any oncoming information.
"The boy has confirmed that his father was affiliated with your group, and given his age it would have likely happened not long after or even before Tiger's passing."
"Yes, but I know not one fish-man on the crew who would lay a hand on a human woman without it being out of anger or spite." Jinbe scowled at the mere idea that one of his crewmates, his brother's, could potentially do something so horrible. All except for one.
"Worry not old friend." Fukaboshi placed a calming hand on hsi shoulder at the notice of distress. "We will see what he has to say, and it will hopefully set your mind at ease."
"Your highness!" A guard yelled, rushing towards them in great distress. "Urgent news!"
"What?" Neptune pried himself away from the door as his gaze met the soldier. "What has happened?!"
"Its...its....its....!"
"Calm yourself! What has happened?!"
"IT'S BIG MOM!!!!!!"
