Everything @ Krystal 😂

Krystal's POV

The first day of school is the most important day of the year. The. Most. Important. It determines how the entire rest of the year will play out. So if you fail on the first day just drop out and try again next year.

I released the curling iron from my hair and admired myself. My makeup was flawless. My hair luscious, and full of bouncy, beautiful curls. My outfit was pressed to perfection. It consisted of my black Dolce and Gabbana sweater dress with black fishnets, my black Miu Miu wedges, and my black coach purse. I top the look with my new Gucci shades.

Jesus I am hot.

I shook out my hair one last time before making my way downstairs. Josh and I had postponed our reunion and decided we'd just see each other at school. He was busy settling back in and getting ready and I was busy preparing to slay and destroy everyone on the first day. Rosie and Alexis had dropped by to talk about their fabulous summers and pity me about my lame one. Then we discussed back to school outfits and hair. We'd decided to wear all black, but only my hair would be curly.

"Bye Mom, by dad!" I called out even though I knew they didn't care if I was leaving. Slamming the front door I pressed my car keys and heard my princess click. I was picking up Rosie and Alexis.

Pulling up in front of Alexis's house I honked my horn. The front door opened and she stepped out. I analyzed her outfit. Black romper, black Greek sandals, and black fringe purse. Mhmmm. Acceptable.

"Get in bïtch!" I called out laughing. She greeted me with a grin.

"Krystal omg that outfit and your look, ugh," she gushed getting in. "It's everything!"

"I know," I smiled smugly.

We picked up Rosie next who was wearing a black high low skirt with a tube top and silk cover. On her feet were black jeweled flip flops.

"Omg hi guys!" She squealed hopping in. "You all look so cute!"

"Could you maybe cut back a little on the cheeriness?" Alexis asked. "It's far too early."

"Shut up girls," I trilled. "Alexis do you have the book?"

"Of course. Ready to document the newbies."

"Good."

The best parking spot at school was reserved for me. Everyone knew not to park there. But as I pulled in I saw an unfamiliar car in my spot.

"Probably a newbie," Alexis scowled at the car. "We should teepee it. Welcome them."

"Patience Alexis. We'll find out who did it. Then they'll pay." I parked and turned off the engine. "Everybody out."

They stared. Of course they stared. Who wouldn't stare at us.

"Hi Krystal!" Numerous people yelled.

"You look gorgeous Krystal!"

"You're so pretty Krystal!"

"I love your hair Krystal!"

Ignoring them I strutted into the school with Rosie and Alexis flanking me. The doors were already wide open and people parted like the Red Sea to let us pass.

This was my favorite part of coming back to school. Making an entrance.

My shoes clicked against the floor as we walked down the hall like it was a runway. Alexis glared, Rosie smiled, and I just kept a straight face. I still kept my shades on so people knew I meant business.

"Any newbies?" I snapped.

"Two freshman girls, straight ahead," Alexis informed me.

I smiled. I just love freshman.

We stopped right in front of them and they turned to us wide eyed. The entire hallway was watching.

I peered at them over my shades and one visibly gulped. Then I spoke.

"You two."

"Yes?" The blonde one squeaked. "I mean hi."

"Names please?" I ignored her greeting.

"Y-you want our names?" They looked utterly confused.

"Did I s-s-stutter?" I crossed my arms and the nearby watchers snickered.

They both looked at each other and turned back to us. Before either could speak we were interrupted.

"I see some things haven't changed."

I looked up. Cheyenne, this really annoying girl I've gone to school with since elementary school was standing in front of me with a frown on her face. Her equally annoying friend Kimora was next to her and beside her was...

Reese.

I faltered. But only for a second.

Alexis spoke up. "This doesn't concern you."

"Bullying freshman?" Cheyenne raised a brow. "That's pretty pathetic."

"What's pathetic are those knockoff converse you're wearing," I shot back. "Are you so poor you can't afford to get the actual brand?"

Cheyenne opened her mouth but Kimora beat her to it. "I thought maybe this year you'd change, maybe become nicer and less bitchy but I guess not."

"And I thought maybe this year your face would get less ugly to look at but that hasn't happened so I guess we both didn't get what we want."

This time I heard some laughter from the crowd.

"Who even wears sunglasses inside?" Cheyenne muttered under her breath.

"What was that?" Alexis snapped. "Nothing? That's what I thought." Then she coughed. "Losers."

Ugh. I was so over this. I'd just find out the stupid freshman's info later. I snapped my fingers.

"I'm so over this," I yawned. "Let's go."

The entire time I could literally feel Reese's gaze burning a hole into the side of my face but I refused to look at him, to even acknowledge him. And as I walked away I made sure to shoulder check him, hard.

Reese's POV

"I hate her," Kimora said with finality. "I actually think I hate her."

The crowd had dispersed leaving us standing there. I rubbed my shoulder where Krystal had shoulder checked me.

I deserved that. And more.

"She is such a bitch," Cheyenne said. "Why do people even like her?"

"They don't like her," Kimora corrected. "They fear her. There's a difference."

I was quiet while they ranted about Krystal. Even I knew that she'd been extra mean today. I couldn't help but feel like it was my fault, that I somehow broke her.

The bell rang for class and Kimora said goodbye to Cheyenne. We both had homeroom together.

"What do you think?" Kimora asked on the way to class.

"About what?"

"About Krystal."

I think that I don't really want to talk about her.

"I think I need a joint," I replied pinching the bridge of my nose.

"Weed doesn't solve everything Reese."

"It solves enough."

My first three classes were excruciating to get through, mostly because they were so damn boring. Every year the teachers make it a point to go over all the school rules, even though we're juniors and everyone should know them by now, and if you don't your a moron.

There was an opening day rally scheduled right after lunch and honestly I looked forward to it. Any excuse to miss class was a good one.

I stopped by my locker at lunch to grab my weed baggie so I could go to the back of the school and sneak in a quick smoke. It was the only way I would survive the rest of this day. As I was shutting it I heard "Awwwws" and "they're so cute!"

Now what?

Turning I saw Krystal and Josh hugging, not having seen each other for almost two months. He went in to kiss her and I noticed the look of panic that crossed her face before she quickly turned her head to the side and his lips landed on her cheek. He looked confused but she smiled and all was forgotten.

The power of a smile from Krystal.

I really needed that smoke now.

Shoving the bag in my pocket I turned only to jump at the sight of Kimora grinning creepily in my face.

"Fùck!" I put a hand to my chest. "I told you don't do that!"

"Sorry," she laughed. "You were taking forever so I decided to come find you."

I rolled my eyes. "I said I'd be a little late."

"Why?" She tilted her head then narrowed her eyes. "You aren't going to smoke are you?"

She knew me too well.

"It's the first day Reese," Kimora chided me. "Do you really want to risk it and get suspended?"

"If I got suspended it would be a blessing, not a punishment."

She sighed. "Your hopeless. Sometimes I wonder why I even hang out with you."

I smirked. "Because of my irresistible looks and charm."

She lightly punched me. "You're not all that irresistible. Now hurry up and go smoke or whatever. And don't get caught."

I saluted her. "Yes mam."

Shaking her head and laughing she walked off. When I looked up my eyes made contact with Krystal.

Josh had his arm wrapped around her and was leading her away but she'd turned to look back at me.

I felt everything that had transpired between us this summer in that one look, what we'd had and what we'd lost. And then I felt it disappear as if it hadn't existed.

She looked away and I did the same, never once glancing back.

Eh not the most dramatic ending but I think I got my point across.
