Chapter 23: The Underdog

"Thanks for the bandaid." I said with a small smile, now fully dressed as Marcel nodded, holding out the paper I had cut my finger on, a drop of blood still on it when I tried helping him pick his things up from the floor as he cringed and kept it away from the other stacks of all my medical records he gathered for Demon Harry.

"Do you think he'll be okay?" I asked in concern as we stood to our feet, my gaze falling on Demon Princess who had passed out on the bed in pain, a layer of sweat coating his skin and a pained grimace still on his face while his chest quickly rose and fell.

"I-I don't know. I've never seen the Boss t-this weak. It's okay though, gives me time to run away just in case he wakes up and tries killing me for accidently putting soy in his latte." Marcel stated, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose while he looked over Demon Harry as I turned to furrow my brows at him.

Even though Demon Harry's heart was starting to beat again, the more I was with him the more he hurt.

What if instead of his beating heart helping him live it only endagered his health since he was still a demon.

I don't fucking know, I haven't watched enough Supernatural episodes to assume this shit.

I couldn't even find what the value of x was in calculus what am I supposed to even do?

"My phone," I breathed in realization, looking between an unconcious Demon and a confused Marcel as I started to slowly back away from the bed, nearing the door.

I chose who I wanted to be, it should let me open my app and make my wish.

What I would wish for I have no idea yet, but I know it will have something to do with protecting Demon Harry and relieving him from the pain.

"I need to find the others and explain everything, and then I'll get my phone." I told myself under my breath, grabbing my keys and watch off the nightstand as Marcel's eyes widened in fear.

"No don't leave me here all by myself with him!" He immediatly fell to the floor in front of me, gripping onto my ankles as he looked up at me with a frightened pleading look.

"Please Marcel, I need someone to watch over him and make sure he's okay for now- I'll be back soon I promise." I reassured him with a supportive smile, trying to make it to the door with gritted teeth dragging Marcel across the floor since he was still holding onto my ankle.

"You're a big boy, you can handle it." I told him, wriggling my leg out of his grasp as he whined before I headed out, running through the hallways and to the elevator.

I looked down at the watch as I got into my car, gazing down at the tracker and following where the other three red dots were blinking at as I drove to the lake where I had trained with the four Harrys.

"Assassin?" I called out to him, the long grass brushing against the skin of my calves as I closed the door of my car, running over to the lake as the wind blew in my face, only to find no other person around the grassy area.

I looked around in confusion, checking my watch to find that his watch was here in this exact location yet he was no where to be seen.

I stepped forward, jumping back in surprise when my foot crunched against something on the ground, the sound of a device breaking as I retracted my foot and crouched down, picking up the Assassin's broken discarded watch from the grass.

Well this wasn't a good sign.

My heart began to race when I ran back to my car, quickly putting it in drive as I checked my watch and followed the second blinking dot at the nearest hotel, driving back into town before I rolled up in front of the large extravagent Hilton Inn.

The dot lead me to one of the rooms at the highest level, making me urgently knock on his hotel door as I tried to stop my hands from shaking.

"Vampire! It's me Liza!" I called out, hoping he would hear me and open the door as I waited patiently, a few moments passing by only for no one to answer.

I furrowed my brows, jiggling the handle of the door in frustration as my palms started to sweat.

Something was definitely not right.

I looked around the hallway, my eyes widening when I spotted one of the cleaning ladies of the hotel pushing her cart of supplies through the corridor.

"Um, excuse me! Ma'm excuse me." I beckoned for her, running to her as the stubby woman gave me a look.

"I was uh- I was wondering if I could have more toilet paper. I'm kind of running out in my room." I lied with an uneasy smile, fiddling with my fingers as she nodded, bending down to reach the bottom of the cart for the toiletry item as I focused on the roomkey card tucked in the back pocket of her uniform.

My eyes shifted quickly to her as she grumbled to herself, looking through the bottom of the cart in annoyance as I hesitantly reached over her butt, gingerly taking the card between my pointer finger and thumb, slowly sliding it out of her pocket.

I finally had it fully in the palm of my hand right as she turned around with the toilet paper roll as I sent her a smile and straightened my posture, hiding the card behind my back as I took the item and thanked her.

I then ran back to the Vampire's room, fumbling with the key in my hand as the lock unclicked and I opened the door, rushing inside.

The toilet paper fell to the carpeted floor as I gawked at the destroyed room in shock.

The furniture snapped, claw marks on the walls and bed frame, silk curtains torn into shreds and feathers from the pillows on the mattress scattered all over the floor.

My heart continued to violently pound in my chest when I located the Vampire's watch, the small white device placed neatly on the broken desk in the back among the chaotic mess with a note underneath it.

I took the folded paper in my hand, opening it up as my breathing increased.

"Fucking bitch!" I cursed in rage, crumpling the paper in my hand in frustration after I read the note, throwing it at the ground in anger before I ran out of the room.

The message burning in my head as I grit my teeth.

'Did you like my little chest pain show I put on for you? Race you home princess, and whoever gets ahold of your phone. Wins. ;)'

••

I ran into my house, fuming as my blood boiled in anger I rushed into the kitchen, freezing in my steps when I spotted Psycho Harry staring at the wall, his back facing me.

"Oh my god, thank goodness you're alright." I sighed in relief, happy to finally find one of my friends as I walked over and hugged him.

His body was stiff, making me look up as I tried to see his face.

"Psycho, what's the matter-" My sentence was cut off when he grabbed my wrist, his grip tight as he twisted it in a painful manner causing me to let out a scream, wincing and screwing my eyes shut before he turned to me.

I looked up and opened my eyes, my jaw dropping when I saw that his eyes weren't actually a milky white like the others under Demon Harry's trance but there was something definitely different in his dark empty green irisis as he continued to murmur something repeatedly under his breath, almost crushing my wrist before I punched him in the face, making him stumble back emotionless as I gaped at him.

"What the fuck is up with you? Snap out of it!" I yelled at him, my body tensing as he came at me, throwing punch after punch as I dodged, backing away before I let myself fall to the floor and kick his legs from underneath him.

"Well, guess you aren't as spineless and weak as I thought you were." A deep mocking voice rasped from the side, making me shoot up to my feet to find Demon Harry across the room, his eyes all black with his hands placed behind his back as he smirked at me.

"You tricked me. I fucking trusted you." I growled in anger, putting my arms up in defense when the Psycho got back up, that blank expression still on his face as he wrapped his arms around my neck in a choke hold, my fingernails digging into his skin as I stumbled and slammed his large body against the fridge, the kitchen appliance rumbling before I stomped on the Psycho's foot, freeing myself and elbowing him in the nose.

I then grabbed a fistfull of his hair from behind, pushing and bringing his face down onto the counter before he fell to the floor.

"Ah, but still so very very dimwitted." Demon Harry tsked, shaking his head at me in a patronizing manner as I tried to catch my breath.

It was then I realized more Harrys around the room, watching me with white clouded hypnotized eyes as they waited for my next move.

Teacher Harry, Cupcake Harry, Daddy Harry, even Harrys that I had never even met or seen yet as they all watched me with zombie like expressions on their faces.

"I think this is the part where you run." Demon Harry chuckled, my brows furrowing in confusion when I noticed something different about his chillingly cold laughter, a small part of his shoulder glitching a bit as I stayed where I was.

"I'm tired of running, I'm not afraid of you-" Before I could even finish my sentence Psycho slowly stood back to his feet, his breathing ragged and his eyes void of any emotion before he grabbed me, surprising me as I screamed when he lifted me up and threw me across the room until my body slammed against the wall and I crashed to the ground.

"Holy shit! Okay I'm running! I'm running!" I yelled, my whole body sore as I quickly got up, just in time as the mob of Harrys charged at me like wild starved beasts while I darted out of the room, running up the stairs panting as I heard all their heavy footsteps follow close behind me, their hands out trying to claw and grab at me before I bolted into my room, closing the door behind me and locked it.

I watched as I heard the multiple similar deep British voices, urging me to let them all in before the locked door broke and splintered, large hands with the same crucifex tattoo on the skins of each one punching holes into the wood of the shut entrance, like some kind of horrific zombie movie as they tried to claw and grope for my body.

"I've got a knife! I'll uh, I'll slice all your long ass fingers off and shove them up your assholes! Don't think I won't!" I threatened, panting like a mad woman before the hands froze for a moment until they quickly retracted back into the holes making me let out a slow sigh of relief.

"No that's gay!" I heard one of them say and knew it was from Frat Harry.

"Don't knock it till you fucking try it you homophobe!" Another voice similar to his snapped at him and I knew it was Gay Harry from that one Larry fanfic I read.

It was only when I saw all the green pairs of eyes peeking through the large craters in the door from the other side looking to check if I had a weapon on me -which I of course didn't- before they went back to sticking their hands through the holes trying to reach for me once again as I backed away mumbling an "oh shit" under my breath.

I reached out behind me to grab the lava lamp on my nightstand, ready to go all hardcore whack-a-mole on their fingers before my wrist was captured in a chillingly cold and strong hand, my back hitting a broad chest from behind as the hairs on the back of my neck stood on end at his presence.

"Didn't I tell before, you're trapped here, tell me why you insist on running when you know and I know that the odds will never be in your favor." He drawled in my ear, his voice low and gravelly as I shoved him away, whipping around to meet the pitch black of his gaze, his dark pupils different from the rest of the others' green eyes.

"Fuck off and come back to me when you don't get your quotes from that Hunger Games movie." I sneered at him, only making him let out an arrogant scoff as I watched the patience on his face wear thin at my words.

Before I could yell and attack him the door behind me crashed to the floor, the hinges giving way as they all flooded into the room, my arms immediatly restrained by Psycho Harry and Fratboy Harry as they grabbed me on each side, forcing me down onto my knees in front of their leader as I struggled while the rest of the Harry's watched me.

"You wanted so badly to be the helpless main character of your own story..." Demon Harry chuckled, pacing in front of me as he let out a husky cynical laugh that made my skin crawl as I glared up at him with gritted teeth before he bent his face down to mine, a dimpled smirk on his face as he traced my jawline with cold pale fingertips.

"Looks like you got just what you wanted... princess." He grinned before straightening his posture, snapping his fingers as Bad Boy Harry pushed through the crowd towards me, cracking his tattooed neck from side to side as he peered down at me with darkened emerald eyes and a smirk on his pierced lip.

"Sorry about this kitten." He said, slowly cracking his knuckles as I narrowed my eyes up at him.

"Oh my god it's Liza. Ly-zah! Not kitten, not dollface, not princess, not cupcake seriously what is wrong with you fanfiction bitches! No one actually calls people that shit in real life! Why can't you guys just say the fucking name? I have one for a reason you know! Seriously fuck all of you long haired greasy ass motherfu-"

My rambling outburst was cut off short when my head snapped to the side at the sharp impact of Harry's fist colliding with my face and by the time my body hit the floor I was already unconscious.

"What the fuck do you mean he's not in bed anymore Glen? You let him fucking escape!" Was the first thing I heard when I came in to, my vision blurring in and out as I let out a small groan of pain and forced my eyes to blink open.

I was on the floor of my room, leaning against my closet door with one of my hands cuffed to the knob as I peered up at Demon Harry who was was angrily snapping into the reciever of his phone.

"Liza... psst... kid." I made a face, trying to shake out of my daze before I slowly turned my head to find the Vampire, the Assassin, and the Psycho all tied together, their hands restrained behind their backs with rope as the Vampire and Assassin looked at me in concern while the Psycho continued to stare at the wall, murmuring under his breath.

"You guys are okay," I whispered with a shaky breath, a smile of relief forming over my features as they both nodded and sent me sad smiles.

"We're here amore." The Assassin said, his voice soft trying to comfort me as I bit my lip to keep from crying in joy when I noticed how clear both of their eyes were.

They weren't in a trance but they were still trapped.

"Imbecile." Demon Harry growled, turning his phone off before he looked over at me with those black eyes, bringing his attention back to me as he smirked.

"You stupid, foolish girl.." He drawled out, running his tongue along the inside of his cheek as he grinned while I blinked up at him in uncertainty.

There was something oddly strange about him but I just couldn't tell exactly what it was.

"You thought you could keep us all in your control, you, an obnoxious teenage girl who wanted so desperately to have her littlr wish come true." He snarled at me, approaching me as I straightened my posture, not shrinking back when he forcefully grabbed my chin so his pitch black eyes would meet mine.

Usually when Demon Harry touched me, even when he revealed who he truly was I still got those slight shivers of excitement and bliss over my body, along with the mark on my neck that he had left to tingle at his touch.

But this time, I felt nothing.

"What am I thinking about?" I blurted out, giving him a challenging look as he blinked at me, obviously caught off guard.

"What?" He grit out, his jaw locking as I kept my gaze on him.

"You can read my mind, what am I thinking?" I repeated, making his nostrils flare in anger before he let go of my chin, straightening his body as he glared at me.

"I don't have time for your petty games-"

"You're not him." I cut him off, my voice stern and loud as the Vampire and Assassin looked between the other Harry and I in confusion.

I watched his shoulders tense, his hands slowly balling into tight fists at his sides as he tried to control his breathing.

"I noticed the glitch down there in the kitchen. It was a hologram wasn't it, you didn't just disappear and reappear in my room. You were in my room already, waiting for me." I elaborated, and by the way the Harry was looking at me, I knew I hit it right on the nail.

"So which Harry are you, because I know for sure my Demon Princess doesn't even talk like that. Plus his chuckle sucks-"

"I fucking beg to differ!" Demon Harry appeared at the doorway, still clutching at his chest as he leaned against the door frame and panted, bringing his pointer finger up as a signal for us to give him a minute before he brought his head down and rested the palms of his hands on his knees as he tried to catch his breath.

"I pass out with my heart hurting and shit- only to wake up alone to find that everyone just ditched the poor hot demon boy in his time of need. Then I come here and decide to save your sweet ass and I hear you talking smack about my chuckle!? My chuckle makes panties drop honey the fuck you talkin' bout." Demon Harry defended, looking up to angrily point at me before he winced and looked over his shoulder behind him.

"And you know, ever since my heart started beating again, running and any physical activity whatsoever is just really fucking hard. Like who even puts that many steps on a staircase." He wheezed out, fanning himself before his black eyes focused on the imposter in front of me.

"Oh great, not only am I all sweaty but it looks like someone's wearing the same outfit as me, I don't think so." He scoffed as the fraud glared at him.

"So, which Harry are you." I said, directing my question to the fake Demon Harry in front of me as the corner of his lips tilted up in a sinister grin.

"My apologies," He said in a cocky tone, smiling as he brought his hands up to his face and took off the all black contacts from his eyes, revealing his fully white irisis.

"Guess you aren't as dense as I first assumed you were." He chuckled, slicking his hair back before he brought out a pair of oversized glasses from his back pocket.

He placed the glasses on, a sickly sweet smile on his face as we all gaped at him in shock.

"You were right Liza, I am a big boy. And I am handling things." Marcel jeered at me, that malevolent smirk on his face never leaving as the Vampire let out a "whaaatttt...."

"Okay but how many bad guys are there right now because my limit is one." Vampire Harry stated, looking between Marcel and Demon Harry in confusion as the Assassin nodded in agreement.

"I know I should be really alarmed at the moment.... but I'm kind of proud like damn, look at this little monster I made. I feel like a proud mother." Demon Harry said in amazement, shaking his head with a smile before I turned my head to narrow my eyes at him.

"Shut up! It's people like you, always patronizing me, walking over me and taking advantage of me like I'm nothing. Like I can't stand up for myself!" Marcel snapped at him, making everyone lean back in surprise at how loud his voice was.

"The underdog that no one cares about, and when they do, it's all just aww Marcel, aww my poor baby leave him alone. I'm fucking done! I've had it! It's time people feared me! In every story I am always treated like shit! Getting my head dunked in toilets, my books pushed to the floor- oh Marcel get me my latte, no! You get your own fucking latte!" He ranted out, glaring and pointing at the Demon who looked around, checking who he was pointing at before his eyes widened in realization and he said "me?"

"Wait a minute... you.... you know about your story?" I blinked at him in surprise, my words coming out slow as I looked at him in confusion.

"Of course I do stupid girl. Everyone knows." He scoffed in annoyance, making me turn to stare at the Vampire, Assassin and the Demon who all sent me sympathetic looks before they all looked away, avoiding my gaze.

What... what was going on?

"Oh no, don't tell me," Marcel laughed out, following my eyes as he shook his head with a smile.

"None of you told her? None of you?" He continued to laugh in a mocking voice, my temper only rising as I glared up at him.

"Oh this is just too good, so you mean, after everything you still don't know." He snickered, wiping at a lone tear as he let out a small sigh of content.

"What the fuck are you talking about." I growled at him in irritation.

"Well I guess I'm not surprised you didn't figure it out. You always were a stupid girl. Think about it, your parents, the time lapses, the way people are acting so weirdly, not even acknowledging the fact that there are multiple clones of Harrys." He explained, placing his hands behind his back as he took slow leisurely strides in front of me.

I looked down at my lap, trying to connect everything together as he chuckled.

"Guess I'll have to spell it up for you don't I? You are one of us." Marcel grinned, clasping his hands together as my eyes widened at his implication.

"No- no I can't be, I'm not. I'm real, this is the real world." I protested, my breathing ragged as he tilted his head, sending me a passive mocking frown.

"Oh Liza Liza. Why don't you just face the facts." He tsked, shaking his head at me.

"You are, and always have been a character, a personality made up by the figment of someone else's imagination. In fact, we're all more real than you will ever be. At least we were created after a real person while you unfortunately, are not." Marcel sighed, giving me a pout as I grit my teeth and tugged at my restraint, trying to reach out and grab him.

"I'm real! I know I am!" I yelled in denial, my face flushing in anger as he simply smiled.

"Oh Liza, all this time you had no idea that you are in your own fanfiction."
