The lore my dear readers, be ready for the lore(I definitely don't have markiplier in my head screaming THE LORE right now XD) I honestly didn't have to make it this good. Or at least my beta reader approves of the lore so I mean, gimme your opinions too.

The citizens run away while the Sons of Garmadon takes over the city.

"It's chaos out there." Nya shuts the door "But we're safe for now."

"Yeah for now," Reika repeats

"All right" Lloyd turns to Mistaké "are you gonna tell us how you turned into a rat?"

Mistaké slurps tea "Ahh. The rat is easy! How about this?" She transforms into Wu and they gasp "Not too shabby for an old woman" she changes back into herself and giggles.

"You're an Oni, a real Oni," Lloyd says "like Aria and her parents."

"Hold on," Reika turns to Lloyd "Aria's not a pure blooded Oni."

"What do you mean?" Lloyd looks confused

"That aside, we were told that Oni are dangerous and all they want to do is destroy!" Dareth shouts

"We are." Mistaké confirms "You don't want me on your bad side."

Nya looks at her "How did you get here? When—"

"During the time of legend. When she crossed over in pursuit of the First Spinjitzu Master. " Lloyd says "When he fled the Realm of Oni and Dragon."

Mistaké nods "Mm. You listen well, Master Garmadon. Since your grandfather was born of both worlds, our mission was to follow him into this realm and turn him to our side! Or destroy him. But he wouldn't serve. And I fell in love with this world he created. 

My fellow Oni wanted to complete our mission, but I turned on them, and I have helped the First Spinjitzu Master ever since. Did you ever wonder how Master Wu and Garmadon have lived so long? It is our Oni blood." Mistaké chuckles

"How have you kept this secret for so long?" Skylor asks

"Transformation is a powerful ability" Mistaké replies

"But if I'm part Oni, why can't I do that?" Lloyd asks

"Transform? You've been doing it all your life! From a bratty child to the destined Green Ninja and now to our great leader of The Resistance" Mistaké says "But now to endure your father, you must transform again."

"Into what?" Lloyd asks

"There is but one final step for you, young Master. Have faith." Mistaké tells him "You will figure it out."

"Can I ask you something else then?" Lloyd questions

"You may," Mistake nods

"How can Aria transform into a dragon then if she's not a full Oni?" Lloyd asks

"Hm," Mistake looks over to him "are you sure you're ready for the truth?"

"Please," Lloyd replies "I want to know."

"Me too," Reika agrees

"It is a tale from the beginning," Mistake begun "when the fist Dragons and Oni walked the realm."

Aria sat in front of Firstborne as she told the tale.

"There were 3 dragons, one being myself, that roamed the land. Me and my comrades soon learned that we were not alone in this realm. In a desolate land where the sun didn't shine lived the Oni. Beings of evil that wanted to shroud the land in their darkness. We were constantly at odds with each other."

"One of my comrades wanted to make peace with them while the other wanted to raise our own kind to fight them. Unfortunately, the Oni thought of this as well. Savern was the name of the dragon that wanted peace while Onyx was the one who wanted war."

"I was between the two, while I wanted peace, I didn't believe we would get it without a fight. The time I spent with the two were special, and I admired the gentle yet brave Savern. When we had finally decided to create our kin, I wanted to choose him, but when I wanted to tell him.. he was with another.. the Oni who wanted peace as well."

"Our bickering had driven him away from his own kind.. I was heartbroken, and the war had begun. The number of Oni and Dragons grew greatly from then on. Your father was the first born of me and Onyx, he reminded me of Savern, he was gentle and not made for the war."

"After battling against the Oni for almost a decade, they had claimed a great victory over us, and Onyx was lost in the battle. We were down and feared the worst, that we too could scum to darkness. Your father however, his head hung high, rallied our dragons and that's when I knew, he was meant for something."

"Your father had finally entered the war, and he had claimed many victories for the dragons. We were finally pushing them back. That's when things started changing.. Savern and the Oni he fell for, had finally succeeded in having a child of their own. A powerful child born of both Oni and Dragon."

"The first spinjitzu master," Aria says

"Yes," Firstborne nods before continuing "He was strong, but like his parents, wanted peace. Unfortunately soon after Savern's life mysteriously came to an end, and his lover dissapeared. Still the battle raged, and the Master refused to take a side and sought to put an end to the war. The sides were at wits, we both tried to persuade him to come to a side."

"Eventually, I was also at my wits end, seeing what the war had done to my dragons and what it had done to my children.. my family. I could not take the fighting anymore, and the fighting only continued as each side fought to claim the young boy as their own.. and I helped him escape."

"What happened to my father?" Aria asks

"I am getting there," Firstborne smiles "The Oni were pushed back into their own lands, and are rarely seen to this day. Then when we thought we found peace another threat appeared, the dragon hunters. Neither Oni or Dragon, my family was once again in danger."

"Your father was never the same after the war, Sven had changed from a gentle soul to a strong leader. He protected us from the hunters, as did I. Unfortunately, he had met an Oni girl that captured his heart. As his mother I did everything I could to prevent him from meeting her, but I could not hold him in the nest."

"The rift between us grew, and Layla did not hold back her opinions. One night, I had overheard her tell him that I cared more for the other dragons then my own son. In that moment all I could do was rush in there and put an end to this. I tried to get my boy to come home, but in the end her words haunted him."

"They had run away, and I never saw my son again. Until a century passed, I didn't understand, but now I do. I could've been a better mother, I put the war and my jealousy before my children. I lost the dragon I loved to an Oni, and I had lost my son in just the same way."

Firstborne looks at Aria "You must think of me a villain."

"I don't," Aria shakes her head, she stood up and walked in front of Firstborne "believe it or not, Layla turned out to be just like you. My mother and I had been fighting for awhile until just recently. She put the Empire and the realm before me, she knew I could be a danger and chose to protect herself and the city."

"She did?" Firstborne looked surprised

"Motherhood doesn't exactly come with instructions," Aria smiles "I don't think what you did was right or wrong. You thought of your dragons and what could happen to them as a result of your past actions. Who knows, maybe you and mother would've gotten along after all."

"Perhaps.. if only I spoke to her," Firstborne looks down sadly "before judging an Oni.. only because she wasn't a dragon."

"I'm sure father is happy to hear that," Aria tells her

"The Overlord and his new wife Layla had now crossed into Ninjago," Mistake finishes up her story "For the Oni and Dragon to become the darkness in the new realm."

"So," Lloyd looked down in shock from the story "Aria's.. a dragon.. an actual dragon."

"Yes," Mistake sips her tea "the Overlord was once a dragon who fought for his own kind, but was consumed by an evil force."

"An evil that is now our empress," Reika adds "but she's changed. Don't get me wrong, Layla's come a long way since I first met her."

"That means, Master Wu's right once again," Lloyd chuckles a bit "history is doomed to repeat itself."

"Yes," Mistake nods "but it is those who don't know their history is doomed to repeat it. It happened to the Firstborne and the Overlord, it happed to Layla and Aria, now that you know.." she smiles "don't let it repeat when you have your own."

"I'll remember that," Lloyd smiles

"Uh guys, I hate to interrupt!" Dareth turns to them "They're here. And they brought Harumi!"

"We need to leave" Nya says

Lloyd stands up "No. No more running. It's time to change things up, as Aria would say, it's time to go in guns blazing"

The Sons of Garmadon surround two citizens "The Green Ninja. Have you seen him?" The man shakes his head.

"He's lying. Make him tell the truth" Harumi orders

'Lloyd' whistles

Son of Garmadon look up to see 'Lloyd' running.

"Don't let him get away!" Harumi shouts

Killow land on a boat, which starts to separate form the others. Two Sons of Garmadon follow 'Lloyd' into an alley but only see a rat.

The rat goes in a pile of garbage bags. It's revealed to be Mistaké "Were you expecting someone else?" 

Skylor attacks them as the resistance slowly come out of hiding and take out the sons of Garmadon.

Lloyd faces Harumi "Those who cannot change, cannot change anything"

"Lloyd. You speak of change, but look what you've become." Harumi mocks "Nothing but a beggar in rags."

"You took my friends from me, so I took yours" Lloyd says as the Resistance surrounds Harumi

"So," Nya chuckles

Reika smirks "Who's the beggar now?"
