I'll be honest, I cried.. I cried a bit writing this.

Aria spent more time with Cole then the other ninja in passing time. Lloyd and her had gone on many dates but she seemed distant which was unusual for her. Even when Lloyd and Reika bickered she didn't intervene.

The Ninja divide for their own personal memorials on the Day of the Departed: Lloyd and Misako commemorate Garmadon at the Corridor of Elders; Kai, Reika, and Nya remember their mother and father at their blacksmith shop; Zane remembers his father in Birchwood Forest; Jay spends time with his mom and dad at their junkyard, and Wu goes to the old monastery to remember his father with Aria tagging along.

"Is there someone you wish to remember today Aria?" Wu asks her as they enter the monastery

"No," Aria shakes her head "Why, am I bothering you? I can go awa-"

"No," Wu smiles "I am happy you are here."

Aria smiles, the two sit together as they look out at the eclipse.

"An eclipse is always an omen," Wu tells her "but is this one a sign of good.. or bad?"

"Bad. Very bad."

"Ah!" Aria jumps back

They see the ghost of Morro before them.

"Well, my former student." Wu says calmly "How have you returned, Morro?"

"The question is not how, but why." Morro replies

Aria gets in a fighting stance as Wu grabs his staff.

"We have fought twice before. And although it pains me, I will do so again if I must." Wu says

"No, you misunderstand." Morro puts his hands up "I'm not here to fight you. I'm here to warn you. Master Yang has put your team in terrible danger."

"What kind of danger?" Aria asks, dropping her guard.

"He's made you forget one of your own, one who was already slipping away." Morro tells them

"Are you talking about Cole?" Aria asks "the ninja have been unusually distant towards him."

"Yes exactly," Morro nods

"Tell us more." Wu commands

"I will, but aboard the Bounty." Morro agrees "We have to warn the others."

Wu looks at Aria who nods in response.

"I trust him sensei," Aria says

Morro seemed surprised by her response but smiles. They board the bounty and head towards the museum where Aria sensed the other ninja approaching.

"Are you well Aria?" Wu asks her concerned

"Yes," Aria replies, glancing at Morro.

The trio soon enter the museum and see the ninja in a group, except for Cole.

"Guys, I have the ghost story to end all ghost stories." Jay says "You will never guess what just happened."

"You battled the possessed mannequin of a mortal enemy?" Kai asks

"Him and his goons tried to send you to the Departed Realm with magic blades?" Nya questions

"But you defeated them first." Zane says

"And saw their ghosts disappear into the night." Lloyd adds

"Oh, okay, fine. You guessed." Jay crossed his arms "Well, since you know so much, why were all those ghosts out here?"

Wu and Aria approach the ninja.

"Because distracting you was part of Master Yang's plan." Wu tells them

"And he had help." Morro adds

The ninja arm themselves.

"Morro." Lloyd glares at him

Aria puts her arm out in front of Morro "Leave him alone, he's on our side."

"What?" Lloyd looks confused

"Morro, tell them." Wu looks at him

"Yang tricked Cole into helping him open a rift to return to Ninjago." Morro explains

"Cole? How'd he trick you?" Jay asks

"Jay, Cole isn't here." Zane tells him

"Are you sure? He's been fading a lot lately." Jay replies "He's kind of easy to miss." 

The ninja all gasp "We forgot Cole!"

"That's right you idiots," Aria says "the rock of our team who keeps our heads on straight. You all forgot him."

"To the Bounty!" Wu instructs "They must be at the Temple of the Airjitzu Master." he turns to Morro "Thank you, Morro."

"Happy Day of the Departed, Master." Morro smiles

Morro goes to returns to his pedestal as the ninja rush out. Aria stops and turns to the ghost.

"Morro wait!" Aria calls out to him

Morro turns to her as she walks over to him.

"What?" Morro asks confused

"I meant to say this before," Aria says looking at the floor before looking him in the eyes "Thank you, for everything."

"Wha.." Morro's eyes tear up "You remember me.. I can tell.."

"I will miss you," Aria hugs him, even as a ghost, Morro could feel it "all the times you've made me laugh.. and the times you've made me cry. Thank you." her eyes tear up "My dear friend."

Morro wipes his eyes as he pulls away from Aria "You should go.."

"I'll visit you, from now on," Aria tells him "If you'll let me."

"I would be honored," Morro bows "my princess."

Aria smiles as Morro returns to his pedestal and he poses. His spirit leaves the statue and goes back to the Departed Realm.

"Sleep well," Aria mutters as a tear goes down her face "my dear knight."

"Aria!"

Aria rushes out of the room as Morro's statue shone green, turning to one of him smiling.

Cole persuades Yang to accompany him through the rift. Together, they ascend towards the Rift, but Yang tells Cole that someone has to remain in the temple as a ghost to be the "master of the house" due to the curse. Yang then decides to settle his own "debts" and launches the confused Cole through the Rift, just as it starts to close.

The shockwave of the Rift closing causes Destiny Bounty to have a hard landing at the Airjitzu temple. The Ninja get off the ship.

"Is everyone all right?" Misako asks

"Nothing that tightening a few screws can't fix" Zane answers

Lloyd stands up "I'm okay, but where's Cole?"

Jay looks worried "Oh, no"

"Did he make it?" Nya questions

"He had to have," Reika says

"He was too late... He's gone forever.." Jay tears up "I'd give anything to have him back"

"Anything?"

"Anything" Jay repeats

Cole jumps out from behind a boulder, a human again "Even the Sonic Raider Jet?"

"Cole!" The ninja embrace him.

"You're back!" Jay shouts happily

"You're ok!" Aria says happily

Lloyd smiles "You're not a ghost anymore"

"hey guys look" Kai points to the temple which was no longer run down.

Wu sighs "The Temple of the Airjitzu Master has been returned to its original condition"

"It's beautiful" Zane admires it

"That would be a pretty cool place for a Ninja to train..." Cole looks up at the eclipse

The team gathers around a campfire with their friends and families. Cole approaches Aria who sat away, alone.

"Not going to join us cuz?" Cole asks his cousin.

"Everyone seems to be having fun with their family," Aria replies with a sad smile "It's a shame, mine would never come here."

"What are you talking about?" Kai questions walking over

"We're already here," Zane says

Aria turns to see everyone at the campfire smiling over at her. Aria started to cry as Reika and Lloyd hugged her.

"We're all your family Aria," Wu tells her "and we'll always be here."

The ninja guide her over to the campfire as she sat between Lloyd and Misako, Reika had a grumpy look on her face but didn't want to ruin the moment. She smiled and opted to sit between Kai and Nya.

"Happy Day of the Departed," Wu smiles

"Happy Day of the Departed," Everyone repeated as they released the lantern's into the air.

Aria and Lloyd smiled to each other before kissing.

"You believe us when we say we'll always be here right?" Lloyd asks her "Nothing will happen to us."

Aria smiles and leans against him as a tear runs down her cheek "Yes."

I feel like I gotta explain this cause it was like hidden in the chapter. The words Morro and Aria say to each other as a final goodbye are so important. Morro was a knight of Aria's in her past life, like Hanabusa and Kaname. Morro became a knight for the Overlord, but he fell in love with his princess. That's why he said "I would be honored, my princess" and she said "Sleep well, my dear knight." A final goodbye.

Morro had left on a journey one day, hoping to return to his princess, with news of finding the first spinjitzu master's tomb, which had been his goal. In the end, he could never return to her and died in the fake tomb. Leaving Aria to mourn the loss of her lover, a knight sworn to protect her that she never truly got to say goodbye to.
