"They haven't even been there a week and they broke out?!" Aria asks

Aria stood in front of her mother who was reading a letter sent from prison.

"I'm afraid so," Layla replies with a cough

"Mother-"

"Don't," Layla cuts her off "I had sent McBrag after them, but he lost them."

"That was a terrible decision," Aria states

"I sent him to bring them here," Layla tells her "I fear our time has run out."

"What do you mean?" Aria asks

Layla holds up her crystal ball, a video is shown of Lloyd dressed as the mechanic talking to a Crystal Spider with the hologram of a masked figure.

"Those crystals again," Aria points out "What is Lloyd doing?"

"Getting himself in danger," Layla responds "I'm sorry Aria, but I must ask you once again to protect this empire."

"Empress," Reika interrupts "Now isn't a good time, Aria's-"

"You can count on me mother," Aria responds turning to Reika "let's go find the ninja."

Reika and Aria travel through the abandoned N line, following the tracker she had. All the ninja had a tracker in their hoods in case of emergencies.

"So.. why didn't you give this to your mother when that bounty hunter when he was looking for them?" Reika questions

"Oh I didn't want him finding them," Aria responds with a smile

"The things you get away with being the crown princess," Reika mutters before looking at her worriedly "Are you sure about this in your condition?"

"I am, besides I'm sure it'll be fine." Aria replies "We've faced the worst before, what could be worse then my father?"

"No.. way!

"That's Jay," Reika says "I'd know the voice of our son anywhere."

"When did Jay become our son?" Aria questions with a giggle

"Don't ask questions dear," Reika replies "just go with it."

The girls rush ahead to find the ninja investigating an empty subway car.

"The BRTM-12 was the workforce of the old Ninjago City subway system. Back when it was all run by steam! These cars were discontinued over fifty years ago! This is a classic!" Jay tells the ninja exitedly

"Let me guess, you collected trains as a kid?" Aria questions placing a hand on her hip

"Aria!" the ninja shout looking surprised

"Don't look so surprised," Aria puts her hand up "I'm in my ninja gi, I'm here on business."

The boys run over and hug her.

"You couldn't have come at a better time," Kai tells her "Lloyd's signal ended here. We're tracking this mysterious figure that keeps recruiting past villains."

"They're recruiting our past villains?" Aria questions "That's a new tactic."

"Yeah, Lloyd's signal ended somewhere up ahead." Cole replies

"Alright, let's go save my husband," Aria says leading the group

"I have a bad feeling about this," Reika mutters as she looks around

In the Crystal Temple, Lloyd wakes up in a cage over a pool of lava. He attempts to escape by using his powers.

"Don't bother. They're made of Vengestone." Harumi tells him

"Whatever it is you're planning, Harumi, you don't have to go through with it." Lloyd says "You can change your mind."

"Can I? Really?" Harumi questions, mockingly.

"Yes. It doesn't have to be like this!" Lloyd shouts

"Are you sure?" She smirks "Oh, Lloyd. So trusting, so gullible."

"You tricked me once—"

"And you think you learned from it?" Harumi cuts him off "But you haven't, clearly. Because you are trusting and gullible and weak. Which is why you are bound to lose."

"Rumi. I know you think I failed you, and you're angry with me-"

"If, by failed, you mean didn't save my life and let my sister kill me," Harumi says

"Aria killed you?" Lloyd questions looking shocked "I thought a building fell on you."

"Oh it did, and i was dearly injured by it." Harumi replies "But she did the honors and finished me off with that pet of hers."

"Reika," Lloyd mutters

"Oh I heard you and her got married, but I'll give you an early congrats," Harumi smirks "on your early separation."

"What do you-"

Lloyd is cut off by the computer beeping. On screen, Aria, Reika, Kai, Jay, Cole, and Zane are navigating through the subway tunnels.

"Ha, it's over, Harumi." Lloyd says "They're gonna find your little subway station, and it's only a matter of time before they find this place."

 "Oh, no! What am I going to do?" Harumi says mockingly before smirking again "Oh, wait. I planned for this. In fact, I was counting on it. Which is why I left behind a little payback for my dear little sister and your friends."

Harumi presses a button. Purple dots appear on the radar, surrounding the yellow dots representing the ninja.

"What?" Lloyd's eyes widen "You're not."

"It's like they say Lloyd, and eye for an eye." Harumi says with a laugh "And a life for a life."

After walking ahead for a while, Zane stops.

"Huh?" Zane looks around

"What's wrong?" Reika asks

"My acoustic sensors are picking up a faint sound." Zane replies

"What kind of sound?" Jay asks

"A soft clicking sound. Like.. tapping, almost." Zane says

"Everyone spread out and search," Cole directs.

"What are we looking for?" Jay questions

"I don't know." Kai shrugs "A machine, something weird. Anything out of place."

"Now I really don't like this," Reika tells Aria as they head in a direction to search "I think we should all get out of here."

"You're being paranoid Reika," Aria says "these kinds of things are normal. I've been out of action for awhile so I don't mind so much."

In the Crystal Temple, Harumi taunts Lloyd.

"Any last words? Say them now." Harumi laughs

"You can't do this! Turn it off. Harumi! Please!" Lloyd panics

"I can't, Lloyd." Harumi says "I mean, I could, technically. But I want to."

"I'll do whatever you want. I — I promise! Just don't hurt them!" Lloyd shouts

"Oh, Lloyd. You're not exactly in a position to bargain." Harumi says

"Harumi! Don't do this!" Lloyd begs "Aria! Guys! Get out of there!"

Computer: Spiders armed.

In the tunnels, Aria and Reika stop at the tracks as Aria felt a familiar prescience.

"I can feel.." Aria looks up "my father.."

Reika and Aria's eyes widen to see the crystal spiders.

"Spider bombs." Aria turns to the ninja "It's a trap! Run!"

Reika pushes Aria ahead of her as they all run away. The ninja and Reika retreat into the BRTM-12 just before the bombs explode.

At the Crystal Temple, Harumi turns from the computer.

"They're gone, Lloyd. I'm sorry." Harumi tells him

"How could you...?" Lloyd glares at her "My family.. my friends.. my wife."

"But there's no reason for you to be destroyed too." Harumi says "You can still join us. There will be a place for you in the dark."

In the subway car, Kai lights a fire.

"Told ya." Jay says "Engineered for strength and durability. Haha!"

"How about a way out?" Cole asks

"No idea." Jay replies

Aria looks around to see they were buried under rubble. Reika looks at her worriedly as Aria placed her hand over her stomach.
