Underground, the ninja enter the abandoned subway N line through a manhole.

"Why are we here?" Kai asks "We already know the Vengestone isn't being taken through the subway."

"Not the active subway lines, but the N line was shut down years ago." Jay says "It's abandoned!"

"According to zoning plans filed with the city, the N line was never completed." Zane explains

"What if the city stopped building the subway tunnel, but someone else finished it?" Jay questions

The group comes to the end.

"This is where the tunnel ends." Cole says

"Or, does it?" Jay starts looking around

"Maybe this whole section of wall rotates around or something." Cole suggests

Zane looks around "Scans detect no hinges or mechanisms of any kind."

Just then, they notice movement behind them. Cole approaches to find a man sleeping inside.

"Ah!" Cole jumps, startled "Huh. I don't think he's breathing."

Suddenly, the man sits up, and the ninja scream.

"Where have you been?" the man starts ranting "I've been waiting here for hours. Got another shipment for ya."

"Lemme guess. Vengestone?" Cole questions

"Ha. What else?" the old man replies "That's high-grade Shintaro V-Stone right there, as promised. Just need a signature."

Suddenly, flames appear from behind them.

"Hey, hey! Looky at what I'm looking at!" Miss Demeanor walks up to the scene "The real deal ninja. I was expecting you knuckleheads at the truckyards, but all I got was some multicolored phonies."

"You wanted us, you got us." Cole says as he and the ninja get in position "Ready to turn yourself in?"

"Hmm, lemme think. Nope!" Miss Demeanor laughs "But I am ready to part-aay. Combat style!"

"Huh?" Kai notices the gas tank strapped to her back. "Gonna be a real short fight since you wore something flammable to a battle with the elemental master of FIYAAA!"

He tries to use his fire, but the flames go out.

Lloyd looks at him "Uh, Kai? The Vengestone..."

"Suppresses elemental powers." Kai finishes with a groan "Right."

"Oh, could happen to anybody. But you know what Vengestone doesn't suppress? This baby!" Miss Demeanor blasts the ninja with her flamethrowers.

"Look out!" Lloyd and the ninja dodges

"Attack!" Miss Demeanor orders

Cole does Spinjitzu, but he knocks Jay over.

"Watch it!" Jay complains

"Sorry! Sorry." Cole apologizes "My bad."

Lloyd knocks a thug flying, whom the old man approaches.

"Just a warning, those other wannabe ninjas are moving in on your turf!" Miss Demeanor cackles

"We're not worried!" Lloyd runs toward her, but Zane throws a thug his way "Watch where you're throwing!"

Miss Demeanor cackles "Hey, what's up? You ninja out of practice or somethin'? You used to be great! You need to step it up before those other guys start horning in on⁠ yo—"

Suddenly, an arrow is shot past Miss Demeanor, they all look up to see the new ninja have show up.

The Fuchsia Ninja begins "Wherever there are criminals!"

The Teal Ninja continues "Wherever there are⁠—"

"Blah, blah, blah. Fireball!" Miss Demeanor attacks them, but misses "Oh, no, no! Attack!"

Her henchmen turn to attack the New Ninja, but are taken out swiftly and easily. Kai prepares to attack, but the Fuchsia Ninja defeats them first.

"Hey!" Kai shouts

"Snooze you loose!" the Fuchsia Ninja mocks

"Excuse me, we're in the middle of a fight here!" Jay growls

"Yeah, this is our fight!" Cole says annoyed

The New Ninja ignore them and continue to take out thugs.

"Super Punch!" the Teal Ninja punches Miss Demeanor's gas tank, sending her flying. "By the power vested in us by Princess Aria!"

The Fuchsia Ninja finishes "We hereby, arrest! You! All!"

"How did they do that so quickly?" Cole questions looking at the other ninja

"Most impressive." Zane says

Aboveground, the police take the thugs away.

The Police Commissioner approaches them "Oh, great job, ninja"

Lloyd looks at him "Thanks, Commissioner⁠—"

"Thank you, Commissioner." The Teal Ninja approaches him "Just making good on the trust the Princess has placed in us."

"Right." the Police Commissioner smiles "Well. I'll just thank you on behalf of the citizens. Let's get moving!"

The police move the criminals out as the Old Ninja face the New Ninja.

"So uh, thanks, for the help back there." Cole says

"I mean, not like we needed it, so." Kai adds

"We most definitely needed it." Zane nods

"We don't do this for the thanks. Protecting the weak is what makes all this worthwhile." The Teal Ninja replies

"Weak?" Kai questions looking annoyed

"You've grown some fat since the last time I saw you," The Fuchsia Ninja chuckles "You're just gettin a little too old for this stuff."

Kai looks shocked and angry "Too old-"

"What Fuchsia Ninja is trying to say is sometimes we all need help." The Teal Ninja intervenes "Sometimes we get a little rusty, or out of shape, or uncoordinated. Like you!"

"Out of shape?" Lloyd questions "We just found a shipment of Vengestone, plus the villains behind it."

" Actually, you found the middlemen. Or is it middlewomen?" The Fusion Ninja looks at the others and the Yellow Ninja shrugs in response. "We would have found the villain behind it all if you hadn't blundered into our operation."

"We had a tracking device planted in the crate. We were gonna trace it to its final destination, but, eh, let's not cry over spilled Vengestone." The Teal Ninja explains

"Well we gotta hop. Apparently the Princess wants to thank us personally." The Orange Ninja says

The Teal Ninja throws a teal smoke bomb and the team leaps away.

"Did you know about this Lloyd?" Kai asks turning to him

"Not at all, I didn't know Aria made a new team of ninja," Lloyd shook his head "She's the one who convinced me to rejoin you guys."

"Well whoever they are," Cole crossed his arms "I don't like them."

"Aria!" Lloyd calls out as he opened the door to her study.

Hanabusa turns to him as Aria looked up from the stack of papers on her desk.

"How'd it go honey?" Aria asks with a smile

"Great except you forgot to mention something to me," Lloyd replies as he placed one of his hands on the desk "You created the so called new ninja."

"Yes," Aria nods "They were the taskforce I put together to watch over the city. I told you about this, but it doesn't mean I'm replacing you guys."

"You guys?" Lloyd raises his eyebrow "What about us, not you guys? You're the purple ninja, you're still apart of this team."

"Lloyd," Aria placed the paper in her hand down "My husband is the legendary green ninja, you're needed more out there then in here."

"It doesn't mean you should be tied down," Lloyd sighed "this isn't fair."

"Life isn't fair darling," Aria put her hand on his cheek "but I know I'm safe as long as you're protecting the city. Consider the new ninja a helping hand, but know they can't replace you."

"Thanks dear," Lloyd takes her hand and kisses it

"I'm back!" Reika opens the door loudly "Oh, hi Lloyd."

Lloyd looks at her annoyed "Do you have to always come in at the worst time?"

"Of course, someone has to stop you from seducing my wife," Reika smiles innocently

"My wife!" Lloyd wraps his arms around Aria

Aria looks at Hanabusa with a 'help me' look and he just smiles in response.

"Come on Aria," Lloyd helps her stand up "we're having a team meeting."

"But I-"

"Your work will still be here when you come back Princess," Hanabusa tells her "just go."

"Thanks Hanabusa," Aria smiles

Lloyd and Aria arrive in the Hangar Bay where the ninja were arguing.

"You know Zane doesn't care." Cole says "He turned down his emotion chip."

"Yeah, we're all dealing with losing Nya differently." Jay agrees

"Right. Some of us are even talking to glasses of water!" Kai shouts as he accidentally knocks over a glass of water.

"Aaah! Nya!" Jay frantically sets the cup upright, but the water has already spilled "Look what you did you⁠— you clumsy—" Jay bangs the table angrily.

"Guys," Aria says trying to intervene

Jay kicks Kai across the room.

"Woah!" Lloyd shouts "Jay!"

"Oh that does it!" Kai shouts, the two fire up their powers and begin circling each other.

"Ninja, please desist." Zane says "Such a violent display of emotions is unbefitting a team."

"Then maybe we shouldn't even be a team anymore!" Jay attacks Kai with lightning.

"Fine by me!" Kai retaliates with his powers "Consider this my resignation letter!"

Kai destroys Cole's Rock Cycle when Jay dodges his attack.

"Enough!" Aria shouts as her eyes glow purple

Suddenly, Kai and Jay glowed purple, they were lifted into the air and shouted in shock.

"Both of you knock it off!" Aria scolds as the two floated in front of her and Lloyd

Kai and Jay looked at Lloyd with a 'help us' look. Lloyd shook his head and put his hands in the air.

The fire triggers the sprinklers and Wu rushes to the Hangar Bay.

"What's going on?" Wu questions before gasping "Aria, put them down!"

"They were fighting!" Aria argues

"Down princess," Wu says sternly

Aria grumbles as the two ninja were dropped on their butts.

"Lloyd," Kai looks at him

"That's my wife," Lloyd takes a step behind Aria "I ain't saying shit."

"What the heck is with the new ninja Aria?!" Jay questions

"I put them together when you all were on a break," Aria replies putting a hand on her hip "Stop getting all butt hurt about it. They're just using weapons made by Borg industries, you all have elemental powers. Stop your bitching."

"Sensei!" Kai turns to him

"Leave me out of it," Wu says "She outranks me."

"Listen here big brothers," Aria grabs both Kai and Jay's ears "You two are brothers, you both lost Nya, snap out of it!"

"Hey wait!" Jay points over to the water "Look!"

Aria lets them go as they all turned, the spilled water glowing and shifting. Nya appears from within, taking on her humanoid form with the water.

"Jay?" Nya calls out to him

"It's Nya!" Aria looks shocked

"Nya!" Jay ran over to her

"Jay! I need ... your help." Nya says as her form was unstable "There's ... a way back. I need to -- Drain - away my powers - before I - lose my shape --"

Zane uses his Ice to freeze Nya in place as Aria and the other ninja rush over.

"What did you do?!" Jay turns to him

"Apologies, but freezing her was the only way to maintain her form." Zane explains "In her aqueous state, she should experience no damage."

"She said she needed to drain her powers away." Jay says

"But that's impossible." Cole shakes his head

"It's not," Aria says "My mother might have something from her days as an Oni that could help."

"But we don't have time to wait until your mother's awake," Lloyd argues

"It's the best we got," Aria kisses his cheek "watch over her, I'll be back soon."

Aria runs out of the room as the ninja all turn to look at Nya. Aria arrived at the palace and ran to her mother's room. When she opened her room, she saw Layla standing up, looking at herself in the mirror.

"Mother!" Aria panics "You shouldn't be up."

Aria rushes to Layla as she turns to look at her. Layla's hair had turned from blonde to silver, her young appearance faded, she looked older and more frail.

"I'm fine dearest," Layla tells her "I have more energy now then before."

"We don't know what your sick from mom," Aria says "It's better you rest now."

"Aria, dear," Layla takes her hand "I know you don't want to believe it, but we may need to consider I'm at the end of my rope."

"No no," Aria shakes her head "You're still the most beautiful woman in the empire, their's-"

"Aria I'm much older then Wu," Layla says as she put her hand atop Aria's head "An Oni's lifespan is only so great. I'm pushing it at 698."

"You're 698?" Aria questions surprised before shaking her head again "Nevermind that, your health-"

"I need to finish my job here before I go," Layla says "Aria, you're an adult now and have done a very good job ruling in my place. It's time for my legacy to live on."

"Mother," Aria wraps her arms around Layla and hugs her tightly

"You and Zero have grown up nicely despite me," Layla tells her as she strokes Aria's hair "my children, will live."
