You're Insufferable
"Oh, hell no!" I stood from the chair, "There is no possible way-"
"Sit down!" My father shouted. My eyes widened, and I sat back down, folding my arms in front of me. "Half of our clan and half of our allies are threatening to split from us entirely without the security of old-fashioned ways. I understand that you don't like-"
"Don't like is an understatement." I gritted my teeth, and he glared. A thought occurred to me, "Was this his idea!?"
"No. Tobirama doesn't know, actually. This was Hashirama's idea, and he went to extra lengths to make sure Tobirama wouldn't find out before speaking to me in person."
My mother spoke up, "It may not be ideal to you, but it may be the only way to keep this clan from falling apart. Let him court you for a month or so, and see what happens. For now, that's all we're asking." [1]
I blushed, averting my eyes, 'Court... gross. And worse, Tobirama.'
I stood from the chair, "Fine. But I will not like it. Just so you know, I would've rather married the grumpy Uchiha." [2]
They sighed, and I walked away, to my room.
I sat in bed, now drastically more tired than I should be. 'Why him of all people? ...Tobirama courting me...'
I rolled unto my side, muttering, "Now I wish I hadn't caught that Kunai the other day."
I soon fell asleep. I hadn't even done much, but I guess the idea of spending time with Tobirama, of all people, could have that effect.

The day came that Tobirama and Hashirama were back, and the room was so silent, it was painful.
Hashirama laughed uncomfortably, "You guys can go outside and talk, I'll just keep Kota-sama and Norita-san company." He shoved us toward the door.
"Okay, okay..." I rolled my eyes, opening the door, and, knowing Tobirama was right behind me, shutting it in his face.
I had talked to Kokoro about this the day before, and she was no help at all, she just wanted to give me encouragement and advice, she wouldn't complain along with me.
"Thanks for slamming the door in my face."
"I didn't slam it, it was perfectly light." I saw his eye twitch as he stepped up beside me on the porch.
He sighed, "Look, I understand that you don't like me, and you should know I'm not particularly fond of this... idea... but..." He turned toward me fully, "We should at least try to be civil with one another. There's no point in fighting."
I turned away from him, "You can't honestly think we'll be able to get along. We're like fire and water. We don't mix. And it's a good thing," I grimaced, "You're insufferable."
"I'm insufferable?" I turned my head toward him,
"Yes. You are."
He grumbled something, before sighing, "Let's go on a walk." He walked past me.
I glared at the back of his head as I followed him.
'Is that really the outcome of my life...? To marry this jerk, probably hate each other all of our lives, he'll do his work and I'll do mine, and... I may never be happy...' I sighed, 'Not that I'd be happy with romance at all, I'd rather be alone.' I blushed.
We stopped at a creek, and I stood beside him, waiting for him to speak. I wasn't going to speak first.
"I have a proposal." I turned my head toward him as he turned toward me fully.
"What's that?" I rose a brow.
"A suggestion for consideration."
"I didn't mean define the word!"
"...What if we forget everything that's happened between us up until now? Start over."
I blinked, "Why? You'll just screw it up again anyway." I smirked as his brows furrowed and his face reddened. "Was that a blush?"
"You-..." He pinched the bridge of his nose. "Let's just try it. If it doesn't work, we'll find another way to merge the clans with the village."
I turned my head away, "Fine."
"Fine." He sighed.

Third Person's P.O.V.
Kokoro and (Y/n) stood in the center of the forest. Kokoro had been helping (Y/n) develop her Ninjutsu for three years now. After finding out that she had a Kekkei Genkai, and (Y/n) explaining how it works, Kokoro wanted to find out what else she could do.
"Rapid fire." Kokoro said, jumping back into the line of the woods. She made multiple water clones for (Y/n) to fight, which ran into the clearing. "I'll stand back. Try not to demolish too much." She laughed.
(Y/n) rolled her eyes, "Shut up..."
She placed her hands together in a single sign, focusing her wind-natured Chakra around her body. Kokoro smirked as she felt the wind pick up.
(Y/n) weaved six hand signs, followed by six more.
As Tobirama and Hashirama walked up to the clearing, opposite Kokoro, she raised a finger to her lips signaling for them to stay quiet. Both men watched the younger woman as her lower arm was encased in rock, and she reeled back, taking a large breath.
"Is she...?" Hashirama muttered.
She expelled a large fireball from her mouth, and three of the four clones were able to evade it, but as they focused their attention back on where she was, they found no one. (Y/n) shot up from the ground, hitting one clone in the center, turning it back into water.
"You stole my technique!" Kokoro shouted.
"Hahahaha..."
She ran at one of the other clones, who attempted a counter-attack. (Y/n)'s stone-covered fist barreled into one, and into the ground, creating a massive crater due to the amount of Chakra she'd put into it. The other clone fell into a puddle as Kokoro released the Jutsu.
"Why'd we stop?" (Y/n) asked, her brows furrowing.
"Ah, you had me beat." Kokoro waved it off, smirking.
(Y/n) smiled arrogantly, "Yeah, I guess I did, huh?" Kokoro chuckled.
"WOW!" Her eyes widened as she turned to her right, seeing the Hokage and Tobirama once again. "That was magnificent!" Hashirama grinned enthusiastically.
The esteemed Hokage grabbed his brother's arm, pulling him across the grass and toward (Y/n). "Brother!" Tobirama attempted to stop, but Hashirama continued walking and pulling him along too.
"You've mastered three Chakra natures, and learned to use them simultaneously! You're so young to have done that!" Hashirama grinned.
Kokoro now stood beside (Y/n), smiling kindly.
"Hashirama! Stop pulling me around!" Tobirama shouted. Hashirama hunched over, sulking. "Please excuse my brother, (Y/n), Kokoro-san."
Kokoro chuckled, "It's fine, really." She placed her arm around (Y/n)'s neck, pulling her against her roughly, "I pull her around all the time."
"Ow! For the record, I would've won that fight if you were actually fighting."
Kokoro snapped her head toward the younger woman, "Would you like to find out?" They glared at each other, and both men watched uneasily until the two women laughed unconvincingly.
"Were kidding, Hokage-sama, Tobirama... Boy, look at what time it is, I should really be going..." She tried to pull out of Kokoro's grip.
Hashirama elbowed his brother in the side, "Offer to walk her home..." He whispered as (Y/n) and Kokoro silently fought.
"What? No." Tobirama whispered back. "Shut up."
Kokoro and Hashirama made eye-contact. Hashirama shoved his brother forward, and (Y/n) got out of Kokoro's grip, just in time for Kokoro to shove her forward. "Ow!" (Y/n) said as she hit Tobirama's armor, "Your thing is hard." Her eyes widened, and her body stiffened, realizing how that sounded. "Yo-Your armor..."
Kokoro laughed at the statement and Tobirama's red face. Tobirama glared at her. (Y/n) jumped away, not wanting anything else to do with the three.
"(Y/n)-" Tobirama said, but she was already gone. He glared back at Hashirama, who was laughing uncontrollably. "Stop laughing!" He grabbed his collar, and Hashirama's eyes widened before his shoulders began shaking again as he stifled his laughter, his smirk creeping back onto his face, as much as he tried to fight it.
Tobirama groaned, stomping off to find (Y/n).
When Tobirama was gone, the two remaining Shinobi continued their fit of laughter, before shaking hands, "Pleasure doing business with you!" Kokoro grinned.
"Pleasure's all mine!" He grinned back, "They're gonna end up together, aren't they?" He looked off in the direction that they had gone.
"As fate would have it..."

'Why can't anyone else act like an adult?' Tobirama wondered as he searched for the woman's Chakra.
(Y/n) continued to bury herself deeper into the forestry, running at her highest possible speed through the trees and bushes, 'Why can't I be left alone...?'
Her eyes widened as she ran upon a cliff, and she was going too fast to stop. Her breath caught in her throat as she hung over the edge of the drop, a hand holding onto her wrist and pulling her back up. She landed against Tobirama's chest, and he fell against the ground.
She noticed this was the second time her head had clashed with his armor, and the thought made her immediately want to get up. She tried to pull away, but he held her there, and then flipped them when she continued to struggle, holding her wrists beside her head as he stared at her angrily, "What did you think that jumping off of a cliff was going to solve?"
"What-?!"
"I understand you don't like this idea of Hashirama and Kota's, but is dying really better!?"
Her eyes widened as she was proven wrong, Tobirama was capable of raising his voice toward a woman. Her expression mirrored his, "For one thing," She started, "YES! But I didn't jump! I forgot the cliff was there, dumbass!"
His eyes widened, "WHAT!? How did you forget the cliff was there!?"
"I wasn't paying attention! Get off of me!"
He sighed, rolling over onto his back beside her. After a minute of awkward silence, Tobirama said, "I apologize for raising my voice."
She huffed, turning onto her side, away from him, "I don't!"
His eyes shot open and he glared at the back of her head, before realizing the cuts and scrapes up the side of her arms. There were still small thorns poking into her skin, and he concluded she had gotten into a patch of briars in the forestry.
He sighed, sitting up and placing a hand over her arm. She jerked away when she felt warmth on her skin, and her brows furrowed when she realized Tobirama was trying to heal her, "What are you doing?"
He rolled his eyes, pulling her arm back toward him, "Hold still." Her other arm was lying in front of her, and he could see that it was just as injured, "Better yet, sit up." She begrudgingly sat up, not uttering a word as he picked the thorns from her skin. "Turn around..." He said once he was finished with one arm, and began healing the other after she turned around.
Once he was finished, He stood, and offered his hand, but she kept her head turned away. "What is it now?" He asked.
"Why help me...?" She muttered, "Why even come after me?" Her eyes met his as she turned her head toward him.
"It doesn't matter. If I hadn't, you would be dead."
She gritted her teeth, hating that his sentence was true.
He sighed, "Listen, (Y/n)..." He knelt in front of her, "Sometimes, it's necessary to accept help. No one can do everything on their own." He stood back up, offering his hand again, "Let's go. They're going to begin wondering where we are."
[1] "Let him court you for a month or so, and see what happens." Yay! I love one-month free trials!
[2] "I would've rather married the grumpy Uchiha." Everyone would, sis... *Disturbing laughter* (JK I love Tobirama too)
He kinda got that rape face...
