An Armstrong Never Abandon's a Friend
Ruby's adorable wolf ears fell back as she turned to look at the admonishing older woman. The woman is relatively tall, yet still shorter than me, at an impressive six feet five inches. She has medium-length light-blonde hair tied into a neat measured bun, with a set of curls hanging down the side of her face. Her eyes are green and sharp, set behind ovular glasses, her skin is fair and flawless, without a single blemish. Donning a pure white, pleated keyhole blouse, an elegant black pencil skirt, simple black and bronze heels, and a black cape, she epitomizes the phrase "Scary Hot Teacher." She stands with a Riding Crop is held in her right hand, arms crossed, and a look of disappointment on her face.
Ruby looks quite frightened of the woman, she tries to speak but the woman's harsh glare cuts her off. However, I am familiar with this woman and do not share her fear.
Y/n: Greetings Professor Goodwitch, this beautiful night pales in comparison to your radiance.
Her harsh glare softens when she meets my eyes.
Glynda: Y/n, it is good to see you again, how is your father?
I smiled warmly at her less than hostile greeting.
Y/n: He has been quite well, my mother has been wondering when you'll join her again for tea.
Glynda made a waving motion with her left hand and rolled her gorgeous green eyes.
Glynda: Bah, I've been much too busy, could you give her my apologies, and tell her I intend to visit soon.
Y/n: Oh course.
I felt Ruby tug at my sleeve, looking up at me fearfully.
Ruby: Are we in trouble?
I nodded my head down at her.
Y/n: Very likely, however, Professor Goodwitch is mostly Bark, her bite is something to be feared. Just be respectful, and we'll be just fine.
I petted the small girl's head gently, not realizing this action could be seen as patronizing to a Faunus like her. However, she seemed to enjoy it, her long fluffy tail wagged excitedly, and her silver eyes screwed shut in pleasure. Her left leg thumped against the ground lightly, giving off the impression that she liked this a lot.
Glynda: I will however need both of you to come with me, and to explain this situation.
Y/n: Of course, come Ruby.
The small wolf-girl nodded with a dopey smile, likely still caught in her head pat induced euphoria.
Ruby: Shuur... thaaang... hehe...
(Timeskip)
Some time has passed since Ruby and I met Professor Goodwitch atop that building, we're currently sat in an interrogation room in one of the many police stations dotted around Vale. We'd explained to Professor Goodwitch what had happened with the goons and the Bowler Hat Guy, and she proceeded to chastise us for our "recklessness."
Ruby is currently slouched in her seat, ears splayed out, her tail wrapped around her side laying in her lap submissively, and her large silver eyes filled with worry. With how this girl fought earlier, I'm surprised she's so... easily frightened? No that's not the word... maybe it has to do with her Faunus nature? Many people can be quite cruel to her people, it saddens my heart if I'm being honest. We Armstrongs however have made it a point to stand up for them, standing as a shining, sparkling beacon of Tolerance and Compassion. In fact, my Families Company is one of the only Human Owned Companies that openly hires Faunus. Something that many of the other rich socialites have deemed... "untasteful." But fuck them, they deserve as much of a chance as anyone else, we're all human, despite what some... "organizations" would like us to believe. In fact, I'm quite jealous of their increased senses and night vision, it's something I've always desired for myself.
I sighed and rubbed Ruby's back, causing the small girl to look up at me appreciatively.
Glynda: And furthermore...!
Professor Goodwitch slammed The Disciplinarian, her riding crop, on the table making a loud 'slap' noise. However, when her gaze focused on the demure and terrified eyes of Ruby, her temperament softened and she even frowned slightly. It appears she realized she had taken things too far.
Glynda: Furthermore... despite how dangerous it was, the two of you handled yourselves quite nicely, well done.
Ruby's ears perked up at the praise, and her eyes flooded with a hint of pride and joy.
A bit of exasperation flooded her tone.
Glynda: However, there is someone else who wants to speak to you...
Professor Goodwitch stepped aside, and out of a door behind her stepped an older gentleman donning a simple green turtle neck sweater, a dark green vest, a black overcoat, simple black pleated dress pants, and pointed shoes. His hair is silver and shaggy, eyes as brown as mud, hidden behind small tinted glasses perched on his nose. In the man's hands are an ornate walking stick, and a platter of cookies. I am quite familiar with this man, this is Ozpin, a close personal friend of both my Father and my Aunt.
Ozpin gazed at both of us, his eyes filled with curiosity and wonder. He gave me a nod as he reached the table before setting the platter of cookies down and sliding them towards us. Ruby's ears instantly shot up to full mast and she quickly started stuffing handfuls of cookies into her mouth. I quickly, and carefully swiped a handful off the platter, content to have the previously nervous wreck of a girl have her fill. Popping one of the chocolate-filled cookies into my mouth I turned my attention to Ozpin, he seemed fixated on Ruby... more accurately her eyes.
Y/n: Greeting Uncle Oz, it has been quite some time since we've seen each other, how have you been.
Ozpin: I've been well, and my how you've grown, you're beginning to look more and more like your father every day.
Ruby turned to me, mouth full of half-chewed cookies, and her face speckled with crumbs, eyes wide and astonished.
Ruby: The Headmaster of Beacon Academy is your Uncle?!
I shook my head and chuckled.
Y/n: No no, Ruby, he is not actually my Uncle. However he is a close personal friend of my Folks, and I've known him all my life, so I simply call him Uncle. And don't speak with your mouth full, you'll choke.
Ruby's gaze quickly diverted from me, she blushed and hastily swallowed, looking at the table embarrassed.
Ozpin: It's good that you know who I am, as I have something to ask you.
Ruby looked up at him curiously... and a tad bit fearfully, she occasionally glanced at me for support, or so I assume that's what she's doing. I merely gave her a smile, having an idea of what Uncle Oz wanted to ask her.
Ozpin pulled out a large Scroll and slid it towards us, on it was a recording of our fight with BHG and his tackily dressed goons.
Ozpin: It's not every day I see a small girl swing around one of the most dangerous weapons ever created. You remind me of a Dust Old Crow... where did you learn to fight like this?
Ruby: My Uncle, a teacher at Signal, taught me. I used to be utterly worthless, but now I can hold my own. I'm still kinda useless without Cresent Rose, but... you know...
Ozpin: Cresent Rose?
Ruby's eyes lit up again, being drug out of her funk by the mention of her weapon.
Ruby: It's the name of my Scythe, isn't she pretty?
Ozpin chuckled, a mirthful mood fell upon the room.
Ozpin: What ambitions do you have Miss Rose?
Ruby looked confused, tilting her head cutely.
Ozpin opened his mouth to clarify, but I beat him to it.
Y/n: What do you want to do in the future?
Ruby: Oh! I want to be a Huntress! Y'know hunt monsters, beat bad guys, and be a hero!
Ozpin and I chuckled at her Naivety, she had a certain... wholesomeness about her.
Ozpin: Well then, would you like to go to my School?
Ruby: B-Beacon Academy!? B-But I haven't even finished Signal yet!
Ozpin simply waved his hand in a manner that said "doesn't really matter."
Ozpin: So you'll skip a grade or two, which just means you'll need to work extra hard.
Ruby looked up at me with a look of determination, however, the words that left her mouth sounded unsure and more doubtful than I'm sure she meant.
Ruby: I guess this means we'll be classmates?
I chuckled warmly.
Y/n: Don't worry Rubes, I'll always be there to help you. After all, an Armstrong never abandons a friend.
My words caused a dopey smile to spread across Ruby's face. I could hear her tail thumping against her seat excitedly.
Ruby: I'll do it! I promise to not let you down!
Behind Ozpin I could see Professor Goodwitch shake her head.
Ozpin simply smiled.
Ozpin: Good, I hope the both of you have a nice night. Your Sister is standing outside waiting for you, you should also get home Y/n, I'm sure your parents are worried sick. Tell them I said "hi."
Ozpin stood up and left through the door he entered from, Professor Goodwitch following closely behind. Behind us, the large metal door we entered from buzzed and cracked open, signifying for us to leave. I stood and offered Ruby a hand, intent on walking the young lady out. She blushed bashfully and took it, standing to her full height and leading the way out, I was content to simply walk next to her. As we left, a few police officers stopped us, but they were easy enough to deal with. Before long the two of us were standing out front of the station looking at a tall buxom young woman.
Her hair is long, colored a fiery blonde, on her head, curving forward are two ivory cow horns with sharp pointed tips, approximately six inches in length, and two large pale blonde bovine ears. Her eyes are colored a soft lilac and are filled with curiosity, flicking between me and Ruby. Behind her back swishes a long blonde tail with a fluffy pale blonde switch at the end. She's wearing a simple yellow tank top under a crop topped brown leather jacket. Its hem stopping a short distance above where her belly button should be, on her bottom she sports short denim hot pants, on her feet are a pair of simple studded leather bikers boots. She quirked a brow at me, giving me an almost sultry look.
Cow-Girl: My My, just where have you been all my life Mister Tall, Beefy, and, Handsome.
Uh...
Strawpoll Semblance:
Singularity: This allows the user the shift the overall weight of an object (within reason) to either be lighter or heavier, as well as the perceived Weight. For example, Cresent Rose weights let's say, Ten Pounds (it probably weighs a lot more than that, but this is just an example) with this semblance she would be able to make it weigh three hundred pounds, but swing it around like it was weightless. This would go hand in hand with the use of his gloves (Hehe, get it).
Quake: This allows the user to manipulate oscillating forces, basically he can make things vibrate really really fast.
Bolster: This allows the user to make themselves ridiculously strong temporarily at the cost of aura, it's the basic "I cast Fist," ability.
Iron Body: This allows the user to become temporarily near-indestructible at the cost of aura, the basic "You hit me, but you got hurt!"
Guardian: This allows the user to draw the opponent's attention, be they Human or Grimm, and directs all their aggression towards the user, while also granting increased strength against those who resist, and increased resistance against those who attack the user.
