Camila Pov

I carried the last box that was left into the room. We had finally moved to a real house. For years Lauren had managed to stall me, avoiding at all costs leaving her beautiful apartment in Downtown Miami Palace. But in these last months I gave the last word on it. Now with Claire we had to have a larger space.

-Kaki, Lauren said to leave this box here. – Sofi said upon entering the bedroom.

-Leave it on the armchair, please, Sofi.

My sister nodded and placed the cardboard box in the place I had indicated. Sofia Cabello wasn't a child anymore, she was already in adolescence. And I tried at all costs to take care of her as I always had, since her first steps as a child to nowadays. With Sinu's death, our bonds had grown stronger, unlike many siblings around, my relationship with Sofi was wonderful. We always held a friendly conversation, full of respect and affection. The absence of parents in the younger one's life wasn't being as detrimental as it had been for me. Perhaps the new family structure we had right now was totally beneficial to Sofia's growth. Since Lauren was as sisterly towards her as I. It was wonderful to see how my wife loved Sofi, and took care of her like she was her sister.

-I'm going to see my new bedroom! Lauren said she put a hot tub in my bathroom, can you believe it? – the girl said excitedly.

-You know that you are too old to put Cronos inside the tub to take a bath, right?

-Lauren said I can.

Before I could say anything, the younger one left the room in an amused laughter. Should I even say that even after years, that dog still made a huge mess? God! And not only him. Now in my house I didn't have only one child. I had three!

-Attention ladies and gentlemen! In a few minutes the mini airplane will land. This is the commander Lauren Jauregui next to the pilot Claire Cabello Jauregui!

I heard Lauren's loud voice coming from the hallway, and along with her Claire's laughter echoed through the room. Just like I said, here come the other two children.

Within seconds I saw Lauren walk into our bedroom with our daughter on her back. The little one had a wide smile on her face, as her little arms wrapped my wife's neck.

-Cancel landing! Cancel landing! Mommy Camila in the middle of the landing strip!

-Let's land on strip two! – Claire said amid a laughter.

-What do you missies think you're doing? – I said when I got up from the bedroom floor.

-Playing airplane! – my daughter said excitedly.

-The last time you were playing like this, someone got hurt. – I approached both of them who stared at me with bored expressions.

-I slipped, it doesn't count! – Lauren defended herself making me laugh – Claire, tell your mommy to not be boring.

-Mommy... – Claire whispered, still clinging to Lauren's neck.

I smiled as I stared at the two like that. Was there any doubt left as to whom was the most irresponsible mother there? Claire kissed Lauren's face, and soon after flashed a smile at me. Perhaps no one could understand how wonderful it was to see the two like that. Contrary to what many think, Lauren was the most silly and playful mother of all. Her imposing and serious air used at Jauregui's Industry, dismounted itself wholly when we were at home beside our daughter and Sofi. She was practically unrecognizable to those who only knew her in working hours, and I admit that having that side of Lauren was the best thing in the world.

-Don't I get one too? – I asked with my hands on my waist.

Lauren came up to me, so that our daughter deposited a loving kiss on my face. I smiled when I felt the little one's delicate lips on my face. I immediately took care of returning a lot of kisses on the little's ones face, who smiled.

-What about me? – Lauren asked as she stared at me.

-I don't know if you deserve, Jauregui. – I pretended to be serious – Look how Claire is! All dirty with paint.

-We were making a work of art for you! Right, Claire?

The little one nodded excitedly.

-It's beautiful! Mama Lauren wrote our names on the painting, near the drawing I did!

-And Mama Lauren let you get all dirty like this too?

-Yes! And she got dirty too!

-Claire! You are not helping, sweetie! – Lauren grumbled, making us laugh.

-I'm sorry! Mommy, give Mama a kiss too. – the little one asked with a face that made it impossible for me to refuse.

I stood a few seconds staring at the two who seemed to have a plot to extort me.

-I don't know... – I played hard.

-Just one little kiss. – Claire said lifting her little finger.

-Yeah, Mommy, just one little kiss. – Lauren repeated with a pout.

-You are an extortionist, Jauregui. – I said with a smile as I inched closer.

Lauren smiled widely before I sealed my lips on hers. I heard Claire's little excited squeal in celebration. Which made me laugh and let go of Lauren's lips, who had a broad smile on her face.

-We did it! – Lauren spoke excitedly to our daughter.

-You were planning this? – I asked with one of my eyebrows arched.

-Mama Lauren asked me to help her get a kiss from you.

-Claire, we have to go back to the club of secrets. – Lauren grumbled.

-You two need a bath! And now!

-Your Mommy is right! Go to our bathroom, I'll be right there to bathe you, sweetie. – my wife spoke as she put Claire on the floor.

-Can I stay in the tub? – she asked while holding the straps of the overalls dirty with paint.

-You can, sweetie. – I spoke stroking her slightly wavy hair.

Claire hugged my leg in thanks and then ran to the bathroom.

-You don't want to come with us?

I turned my attention to Lauren who came closer, placing her hands on my waist, which she pulled delicately closer to her. I let my arms rest around my wife's neck, who stared at me serenely.

-I would love to. But I already took a shower, and I have to make our dinner. We are without the maid today, or did you forget?

Lauren frowned, somewhat dissatisfied.

-Don't make that face.

She smiled and brought her face closer to mine, kissing my lips, then my face, going down to my neck.

-I'm trying to convince you to join me. – she whispered against my skin.

I closed my eyes, letting her continue with her soft caresses on my skin. It could pass months, years or decades. Lauren would always be able to cause me the best feelings in the world. Being in her arms was a good reason to be well and happy.

-Baby... – I whispered unwillingly.

-Hmm? – she said going up with the kisses to my lips.

I closed my eyes, feeling the softness of that woman's lips against mine. Lauren contoured them with the tip of her tongue, asking for passage to meet mine, and I promptly gave in. I sighed in the exact moment I felt her tongue moving slowly along with mine. God, Lauren had the most incredible kiss of all, I would never get tired of it.

-We better stop... – I whispered against my wife's lips.

-I think we better continue. – Lauren said as she slid her hands inside my blouse.

-Our daughter is in the bath. – I whispered amid a moan when Lauren sucked my earlobe.

-She loves to bathe, she'll be there for a while.

Lauren stepped forward, making me back a few steps. We only stopped when I felt my back collide against the concrete wall. She let go of my mouth, and looked into my eyes. They had that glow that I knew very well.

-Don't give me that look. It's not time for this. – I whispered to her.

-And since when do we have time for this?

Lauren had her body against mine, pinning me, without giving me any chance of escape.

-Since we had a daughter.

That seemed to have dismantled her. Lauren loosened her arms around me, and rested her head on my shoulder, leaving her face in the crook of my neck. Her breathing indicated that she was laughing.

-What? – I asked as I let one of my hands go towards her hair.

-If it was in other times you would be moaning with my fingers inside your pussy now.

-You miss that?

-Yes! You have no idea how much.

-Jesus, Lauren, you sound as if we don't have a sex life. – I said, trying to contain a chuckle.

-Not like before, baby.

-Lauren, we have responsibilities now. We can't be having sex inside the elevator, on your desk, inside the helicopter like before.

-If it was up to me we would do it all again.

-Have you forgotten that we have a baby girl to take care of? And speaking of her, she must be turning our bathroom into an ocean. Go there.

I gave a light slap on her shoulder, receiving a disappointed expression. Lauren stole a quick kiss before backing away and going towards the bathroom. I wouldn't go after, I wasn't up to see the damage that those two would do there. Instead, I would prepare our dinner. With the change, our maid asked the day off and even against Lauren's will, I had allowed it. It doesn't hurt to get our hands dirty sometimes. With the amount of money we had that really was not necessary, but for a first day, it wouldn't do any harm.

-Let's prepare dinner? – I asked as soon as I saw Sofi get out of her bedroom.

-Sure! What are we going to make?

-I'm still thinking. – I said as I supported my arm on my sister's shoulder – Any suggestion?

-We can make some pasta. Noodles with white sauce and shrimp. What do you think?

-Great idea!

We descended the stairs towards the kitchen. Lauren had agreed to buy a house, but according to her it would have to be a beautiful house. And for the Jauregui's, you can imagine, right?

-Where is Lauren and Claire?

-In the bath. Claire is all dirty, she looks as if she was painting with her body, she had paint even in her nose.

Sofia let out an amused laugh, as she grabbed the pasta box from inside the pantry.

-They were preparing something for you, Kaki. A work of art.

-Let's wait and see.

-Did you imagine your future like this?

Sofia asked when she leaned against the counter. I stared at the younger one with a confused countenance.

-What do you mean?

-If you imagined your life like this. Married, with a daughter.

I kept my attention on the pot of water that bubbled in high temperature.

-No. I think I imagined a totally different future for me.

-Better than this? – the younger one asked with her eyes attentive on me.

-No! Sofi, for me it couldn't be better than this. You know that we didn't have a very good past. And today, I can't see a better future for me.

Sofia let a brief smile escape her lips.

-I miss mom.

I felt my heart sink for a split second. I knew that even amid all the difficulties, Sinu gave her best to raise Sofi. Perhaps in the attempt to not make the same mistake she made with me.

-I imagine so, you know that she is always with you, right?

-You only have to imagine. – Sofi completed.

I approached the younger one, pulling her into a loving hug.

-I know I can't fill the void that our mother left, but know that I do everything for you to feel good.

Sofi squeezed her arms around my waist, hugging me tight.

-I feel very good, Kaki. I just remember her, and keep thinking that it could be different.

I left my chin rested on the younger one's head, as my hands stroked her dark locks. My thoughts flew to the day that Sinu died:

Sinu stared at me with lost eyes, dull almost lifeless. She held my hand tighter, sliding her fingers lightly.

-I'm sorry... – she began to speak in a farewell tone – Please, Camila. Just forgive me for everything.

I felt my lungs burning, the lack of air and the knot in my throat because of the impulsive urge to cry.

-You don't need to apologize, please... Don't say anything.

She closed her eyes slowly and opened them again. Wetting her parched lips to continue:

-You are a wonderful daughter, I'm so proud of you.

I squeezed her hand, letting all the crying that was stuck fall down. The desperate sobs and the violent tears.

-I want... – she groaned in pain – You to take care of your sister, don't leave her with Alejandro. Make Sofi's life what I couldn't do with yours.

I couldn't even utter a word. The cry that emanated from me was hopeless. Sinu was saying goodbye to me and I couldn't do anything. I sniffled, wiping the tears that insisted on falling.

-Please, do something! – I exclaimed to the doctor who was trying to make Sinu stop.

-Promise me? That you'll take care of her.

I nodded.

-I promise, I promise, mom.

I deposited a kiss on the top of Sofia's head, and brought my hands to her face, lifting it so that she looked at me.

-Sometimes life holds good and bad things, and we need to have strength to go through them resignedly. We are both giving our best for that to happen, you agree? – the girl nodded – Then let's continue, little one. You are doing super well! And I am absolutely certain that our mother is more than proud of you.

-And she's proud of you too, Mila.

I smiled awkwardly.

-Maybe.

-Not maybe, she is! I know that she asked you to take care of me. And you do, in the best possible way. With Lauren and Claire.

-I love you, Sofi.

-I love you too, Kaki.

My sister hugged me affectionately, and I controlled the urge to cry. I hated to be so silly with these issues. At home for sure I was the most whiny, and I had a little kid, but I believe she was much stronger than me.

-Now let's focus on the noodles! – Sofi backed away.

-Yes, ma'am. – I joked.

We stayed for about twenty minutes preparing everything, the smell of the shrimp in the white sauce was making my stomach rumble. Sofi had quite a talent in the kitchen, inherited from me of course. I poured the sauce over the well cooked pasta, as Sofi spread everything with a small fork.

-This smells amazing. – my sister said inhaling the aroma coming from the food.

-Now we have to see if it tastes amazing, right?

-Are you doubting the Cabello cooking?

-Me? Never! We are good at everything! – I spoke smugly, as I removed the gloves from my hands.

-Now you're talking! – Sofi raised her hand for me to high five it.

-Now I'm going upstairs to check on the two children. The way Lauren is, they must still be in the bathtub, Claire must be with her fingers wrinkled because of the water.

I removed the small hair clip from my head, letting my hair loose, as I climbed the stairs. From the hallway I could already hear those giggles echoing from the bedroom. I walked slowly as to not make any noise, I wanted to see what those two were up to.

-Are you sure? Your Mommy will give me a lecture if I let you wear this costume, Claire.

I heard Lauren's voice sound softly. I approached the door, without letting the two notice me there. Claire was standing, only in panties, while Lauren was in front of her kneeling with a princess costume in hand.

-Mama, please. – the little one asked with that famous puppy face.

Should I even say that Lauren gave in to everything that Claire wanted with that face?

-Fine! But we'll hear from your Mommy, she'll say that I should've put your pajamas.

Just like I said, see?

-You can give her a kiss and everything will be fine!

-And you think that everything is solved with a kiss? – Lauren asked as she dressed our daughter in the small dress.

-You said it is! Remember when we broke the vase of the living room? – Claire said.

-Shhh! Lower your voice, sweetie! Do you want your Mommy to know that it was us? Cronos was the one who took the blame, poor dog.

Claire let out an amused laugh.

So it was them? Lauren will have to give me some good explanations later. I leaned against the wall next to the doorway, inching closer. They seemed pretty focused on each other. My wife sat on the bed's edge, and pulled Claire closer.

-Come, let me comb your hair.

The girl nodded and inched closer to Lauren. I loved to watch the careful way in which Lauren took care of our daughter. Should I even say how the two were extremely alike? No one would say that I was the one who nurtured little Claire. When we decided to have a baby, the decision was unanimous, I would nurture the baby with my wife's egg. Of course, with the help of an anonymous donor, chosen through the clinical records. By luck or fate, Claire had inherited all the traces of my wife. According to my in-laws, Claire is a miniature of Lauren, with the personality of the Cabello's. A perfect and bombastic mix.

-Mama...

-Yes, sweetie. – Lauren murmured as she slid the brush through the slightly wavy and brown hair of our daughter.

That she had like me, her hair was extremely similar to mine. And not only that. Claire didn't have as white skin as Lauren, her tone was like mine.

-Do you love my Mommy a lot?

Lauren stopped combing the girl's hair, who in the same instant turned facing her mother. Claire stared at Lauren with those green and bright eyes, just like my wife's.

-Of course I love her, a lot!

-How much a lot? – curious as always.

-A lot, to the point of not knowing the exact size to explain to you. Why are you asking me this?

Claire put her little finger in her mouth, but then took it out. Her eyes seemed to be evaluative, somewhat confused. I didn't need to look closely to know, I knew my daughter perfectly well.

-My friend Liza said her mother doesn't want her dad anymore. I don't want that here, Mama.

I felt my heart falter for brief seconds. Thinking about such possibility made me as scared as Claire. Lauren and I unified our marriage on a rock, which seemed to be hard to break. But I knew that life could take a 360º spin easily. I shook my head slowly, pushing that idea from my thoughts, to then turn my attention back to the two women in my life. Lauren delicately put some strands of hair behind the little one's ear, to then make a light caress on her face.

-You don't have to worry about that, Claire. It's not because it happened to your friend Liza that will happen the same to you. Come, sit here next to Mama. – Lauren said, pulling the little one to sit beside her on the bed, staying with her back to me – Let me tell you something, but it's our secret, okay?

The girl nodded frantically, somewhat excited to share a secret.

-I will never divorce your Mommy! You know why?

She shook her head.

-Because she's the love of my life, forever. When you are older, an educated woman, you'll find someone who makes you feel the best things of this world, who gives you wonderful moments. Who is beside you in good times or bad. – Lauren took a brief pause, then spoke again – The best thing that could have happened in my life was to have found Camila. You see, she gave me you, sweetie. And I couldn't be more happy! I have the best family of this whole world, and without you I am nothing.

I felt my eyes teary, mixed emotions went by me in that instant. Hearing those words in such a heartfelt and sincere way coming from Lauren to our daughter made me even more emotional. I sighed softly, wiping the tears that insisted on escaping. I didn't want to disturb that moment.

-Then you'll be together forever? – Claire asked thoughtfully.

-Yes! Forever. Until we are very old and wrinkled. – Lauren spoke making the little one laugh – You are laughing, but it's true.

The woman knelt on the floor, facing our daughter.

-I don't want you to keep thinking about these things, okay? I'm sad for your friend Liza. But think about our family! There's you, your Mommy, your aunt Sofi and me.

-And Cronos!

Lauren smiled broadly.

-Yes, love. And Cronos.

-We'll be together forever. And I'll do everything for that. I don't want to lose any of you. Otherwise, your Mama here wouldn't be happy.

-I want you happy, Mama. – Claire spoke as she put her two little hands on Lauren's face.

-I am, sweetie, I am the happiest woman in all this universe!

-All?

-All!

Lauren hugged the little one until they fell on the bed, bursting into an amused laughter. I inched closer, leaning literally in the doorway, just watching that scene.

-Come, Cronos! – Sofi shouted entering the room, climbing on the bed.

The huge dog walked through the door excitedly, jumping on my bed.

-Oh, God! – Lauren let out a laugh.

Perhaps no one could understand my feelings at the sight of that scene. You know that feeling of feeling complete? As if nothing lacked in your life? It was like seeing the reasons for breathing and keeping strong in the midst of a so chaotic world right there, in front of you. Between smiles and heartfelt laughter, amid an infinite and surreal love. Lauren, Claire, Sofi and even Cronos, were the perfect elements of a potion called happiness. And only I possessed it.

-Look who is spying on us! – Lauren said with her eyes on me.

-You are mistaken!

Lauren frowned and got up. I stepped back a few steps as she approached.

-I am?

-A little.

-Now it's a little?

She had a naughty smile on her face, and an amused expression. Lauren had her hair tied in a well made ponytail. She was wearing white light fabric shorts, and a gray linen blouse, with long sleeves. She looked beautiful, as always.

-Maybe you aren't.

-What did you hear, Miss Cabello?

She bit her lower lip, and fixed her green eyes on my face. I loved the easiness that Lauren's eyes had to change their shade of green. They always transmitted her emotions or desires.

-I heard the necessary, Mrs. Jauregui. – I flashed a smile at her.

-It was a secret.

I approached her and wrapped her waist with my arms, trapping my wife's body against mine.

-The best of all. – I whispered.

-Am I going to win something for being a romantic and loving wife?

-And you need to win something? What do I win for being the responsible and caring wife?

-A lot of mess to clean. Look at this. – Lauren pointed to the bed, where Claire jumped with Sofi and Cronos.

-Lauren...

-Leave them, baby...

I sighed seeing the complete mess that that room was becoming.

-Fine! But let's all dine!

-That's right, girls, running to the dining room.

I saw Sofi pulling Cronos by the leash, removing the huge animal from the bed. If when he was just a puppy I already had problems, imagine now that he was an adult. Claire ran after my sister who was leading the dog towards the stairs. Lauren rested her arm around my shoulders, while my arm wrapped her waist from the side.

-You like our new home?

-It's wonderful, I love it. – I said depositing a kiss on her face.

-I'm glad! I chose the one you ordered.

-You are being a very good wife.

-I've always been!

We all ate dinner together at the table that night. Lauren served us while praising the Cabello's culinary skills, now Jauregui's as well. Between a pleasant and enjoyable conversation, we finished dinner, and followed to the video room. Now I was lying on the sofa bed, next to Claire and Sofi who remained focused on the animated movie that was playing on the TV. The little one was still wearing the pink princess costume. As Lauren always said:

"My pink princess"

It wouldn't take much for her to fall asleep. I approached both, and soon felt Claire's little hand in my hair, making a light caress. Should I even say how relaxing it was to receive affection from my daughter? I allowed myself to relax for a few minutes, until Claire's caresses stopped. I looked up and noticed that the little one had fallen asleep. She sighed softly, with a serene expression.

-I'm going to check on Lauren, I'll be right back to put her to bed. – I whispered to Sofi, who nodded briefly before turning her attention back to the movie.

I got off the couch slowly, putting on the slippers that rested next to the cottony carpet. I straightened the black cardigan that I was wearing that night, tugging the sleeves up to my forearm, as I walked towards the kitchen. As I approached I heard Lauren's soft laughter, and some murmurs that I couldn't decipher. I frowned as soon as I saw the woman leaning against the kitchen counter, glued to her phone in an entertaining conversation. It seemed to be someone with certain intimacy, to drag out easy laughs from my wife like that. Lauren looked up and stopped smiling as soon as she noticed my presence.

-Alright, Alfredo! Don't be gracious, my flight is scheduled for tomorrow.

I remained quiet, just watching her. If I knew her well, I knew exactly that there was a hint of nervousness and surprise by my presence. Lauren didn't take long to say goodbye, ending the call I thought to be with Alfredo. After the breakup with Dinah, he had asked to be transferred to the Jauregui's Industry branch office of Canada, and Lauren as a good friend, accepted without any problem. Alfredo Flores was one of her trusted men, and had as position the presidency of that branch office.

-Alfredo? – I asked, closing the fridge door.

Lauren alternated her wobbly look from her phone to me.

-Yes, he wanted to know if everything is set up for my trip to Canada tomorrow.

-He'll pick you up at the airport?

-Yes, he dismissed the driver. He said he can do that for me.

-Alright. – that was all I said, serving my glass with a small amount of milk.

My wife stared at me, with evaluative and timorous eyes. Then she turned around and slid the cloth over the sink delicately. After dinner, Lauren offered to wash our dishes, since Sofi and I had made dinner. And with the lack of maid, I couldn't oppose.

-Is everything alright? – she asked when she turned towards me, as she folded the cloth, which soon placed on the counter in which I was leaning.

-Yes, I just didn't want you to go.

In these last days, Lauren was a well of mysteries. She was always in the corners, receiving texts or calls that I didn't even make question to ask. She had the damn habit of hanging up in the exact moment I approached. In the beginning I didn't see any harm, but for some time now, the act began to bother me. Not that I suspect Lauren, it didn't cross my mind that she was cheating on me with someone. But I knew she was hiding something, otherwise I didn't know the woman I had married. Tomorrow, after a few commitments in Jauregui's Industry, she would catch a direct flight to Canada. Lauren had become the main responsible for all the existing branch offices of Jauregui's Industry around the world, and in a way she always had as duty to show up in every one of them for a short period of time to make sure everything was running as expected.

-Camz... – she approached me, and soon I felt her body unite mine from behind, as her arms wrapped my waist delicately – It will only be two days, I'll arrive Saturday night.

-Fine, if you are not here Saturday, you'll be in a lot of trouble, Jauregui. – I let out faking an authoritarian tone.

I felt Lauren's breathing change in my neck, she was probably laughing.

-I will be, Mrs. Cabello Jauregui.

I turned my body, facing my wife, who kept her eyes fixed on me.

-Lauren, I'm serious. You said that Sunday we would all go out. You know that our days are hasty, and we hardly have time.

-Baby, I know that. The four of us will go out. I know it's your birthday, and that I promised a wonderful Sunday. Trust me.

I sighed heavily, and before I protested about something, I felt Lauren's soft lips on mine. I closed my eyes, letting myself feel the skillful tongue of my wife come into contact with mine, moving in the right precision to gradually make me forget everything. Lauren had a fucking perfect kiss, addictive, delicious. I brought my hands to her neck, allowing my nails to scratch lightly the soft skin of that area. She alternated the movement of her head, and in a brief space of time I sighed heavily, feeling her hands snaking inside my blouse, touching the skin of my back.

-What do you think of putting the girls to sleep and continue this? – she whispered as she descended with the kisses to my neck.

I felt a shiver go down my spine. Damn sensitivity in the neck!

-I find the idea great.

The woman's tongue slid eagerly on my pulse point, which involuntarily made me grab her hair tightly. Lauren sank her teeth lightly on my skin, to then suck it.

-Bitch... – I sighed with the shred of sanity that wavered in my subconscious.

-I'm hungry for you, Miss Cabello.

Lauren's husky voice caused me so many things, and now the famous "Miss Cabello" was used when the imposing businesswoman wanted something from me, and we know exactly what it was.

-You'll stay like that until you return from Canada. – I said with a smug smile, seeking strength from some high level of my being. Resisting Lauren Jauregui wasn't an easy task.

-What?

I pulled away from her arms, but was held tightly by the left arm, receiving a look of disapproval from the woman in front of me. Unlike hours ago, Lauren now had a different glow, spread in a dark green shade. Revealing easily what she was feeling in that instant.

Desire, anger and arousal.

The games hadn't changed, even married we still had our battles of lust. Neither I, let alone her forgot that I still had a hint, no matter how weak it was, of Karla Estrabao.

-You won't do that to me. I'll be away from you these two days, Karla.

-Exactly because of that, Jauregui. This way you'll come back faster, and very thirsty. – I let out with a wink at my wife, and with a cynical smile on my lips. And before she could protest or make me change my mind, I left the kitchen.

-----

We were a few blocks away from Jauregui's Industry. We would have a brief meeting with some of the shareholders, and then my wife would go to the airstrip, where she would take the jet towards Canada. In the car, Claire sat between Lauren and I, her attention was drawn to the iPad that illustrated some animation that the little one was used to watching. While Lauren, focused in the same way analyzed some reports that I had delivered her this morning. A smile escaped my lips as I realized how similar the two were. Claire was a perfect blend of a Jauregui Cabello, even not being a genetic combination of ours, the little one had incredibly a lot of things in common both with me and with Lauren.

-You already know, right Claire? – I asked as soon as our car stopped in front of J.I. main entrance.

-Yes, ma'am, no running around or making a mess inside the company. – she said in a bored tone.

Lauren stared at me with a smile on her face, to then deposit a kiss on our daughter's face.

-Great! – I exclaimed in an authoritarian way.

Although very small, Claire was an intelligent child, and well perceived. Early on, Lauren and I sought to teach her and educate her in the best possible way, and it was working out. Despite some lapses that were totally normal for a child, she was a wonderful daughter. I straightened the little girl's clothes, who had a cheerful countenance. It wasn't news that Claire loved visiting Jauregui's Industry, and she said that when older, she would take care of everything just like Lauren and I did.

-Let's go? – Lauren asked.

Alfred got out of the driver's seat and walked towards the door from Lauren's side, opening it delicately.

-Good Morning, Mrs. and Mrs. Jauregui. – the man spoke good-humored.

-Good Morning, Alfred.

The three of us got out of the car, stopping next to the black Mercedes that the driver was used to driving. Alfred was already an old man, who surely had already the right to retire. Lauren gave him the opportunity to stop working with good benefits, but he refused. He said that that work made him alive, and that he would drive for the Jauregui's till the last day of his life.

-Alfred! – Claire called excitedly, high-fiving the man who opened a broad smile at the little one.

-How are you, Miss Claire?

-I'm great!

-Very well, little one.

Alfred stroked the little one's hair fondly, until Lauren called us.

-Behave, young lady. – Lauren spoke seriously to our daughter, who nodded well behaved.

We walked towards the main entrance, always having the same reaction from the employees. Years and more years would pass, and they all would behave the same way. As soon as we set foot inside Jauregui's Industry, the employees adopted a serious posture and without any type of distraction. I loved the way Lauren transformed herself in there. The caring and extremely silly mother stayed behind, showing only the serious and imposing posture, with that fucking arrogant air that drove me completely crazy. Away from home, and from our family circle, she was just Mrs. Jauregui.

Over time the employees began to see me the same way. Now as wife, and president of the headquarters I had the respect that they all always gave Lauren. And as a good apprentice, I lived up to the last name and to the position entrusted to me.

-Ladies. – one employee approached, accompanying us to the elevator – The shareholders are already waiting.

-Alright. Tell them that Mrs. Cabello and I are on our way. – Lauren spoke in a serious tone.

The young woman stared at us warily, and then nodded before walking away.

-I bet they are afraid of you. – I said with a smile, depositing a quick kiss on Lauren's face as soon as the elevator doors closed.

-Of us, you mean.

-Why are they afraid? – Claire asked clinging to her iPad.

-It's not really fear, but rather respect! When we have an important job like me and your Mommy have, we need to be very serious, so that we can have everyone's respect, you know? – Lauren explained carefully.

The dark brown-haired girl nodded with a curious look.

-But they seem to be afraid. They get so quiet when we arrive.

-It's part, one day it will be you, Claire. – I said stroking my daughter's hair.

The elevator doors opened, making way for us to move towards the conference room. Lauren's secretary took care of taking care of Claire while we headed towards the shareholders. In that moment Lauren and I cut any type of bond. Inside Jauregui's Industry, more specifically in front of the employees, we were just partners.

-Good Morning, gentlemen. – I said upon entering the conference room, attracting every gaze.

Lauren walked graciously on her black scarpin to the other side of the table. We would both sit on opposite sides, but at the head of the table. The present shareholders greeted us politely, to then the meeting start. The subject passed by tranquilly, analyzing the costs of the balance sheet made by the new investor. While one of the men carefully explained the topics of the reports in our hands, I let my eyes stop on Lauren.

Lauren was still the same as always. Her serious expression, laden with an arrogant air that drove me completely crazy, was there. She had her hair loose, in soft waves, thrown to one side. She was wearing a navy blue blouse of a noble fabric, and a black skirt that fell perfectly on her body. She had soft makeup, only highlighting the intensity of her eyes. Which surely didn't need, since they had their own glow. I sighed for brief seconds as I noticed how beautiful my wife was. I seemed to have gone back in time, more specifically to the first days when she got there, knocking down all my structures with her strong personality. Lauren took her attentive eyes off the man, and turned them to me.

A brief smile formed on her lips, causing one on myself. I took care of taking my eyes off the woman, to then retrieve the attention I had completely lost. Lauren looked up, to then start giving her opinion on his report. And so the meeting went by, until we ended it.

-Finally! – Claire said when we entered the office.

Dinah who played with our daughter got up with a wide smile on her face.

-Claire already wanted to break into the conference room. – my friend spoke in an amused laugh – The poor secretary went to grab something to eat, and I stayed here.

-It did take a little bit of time. – Lauren smiled and approached, picking up our daughter on her lap – Impatient, mini Jauregui?

-A little bit... – she whispered embarrassed.

-You sound like your Mommy!

-I heard that, Lauren!

My wife laughed and deposited a kiss on the little one's face.

-Lauren, I just talked to Gustav. The helicopter is waiting for you. – the blonde said as she showed the small piece of paper with the message.

-Oh! I'm more than late!

-You will come back soon, Mama?

-Yes, sweetie. I come back Saturday night, because on Sunday we will all go out together to celebrate Mommy's birthday.

-Yasssss! – she said excitedly.

-Give me a kiss and a hug.

Claire kissed Lauren's face, to then wrap her neck in a tight hug. The two stayed like that for a few minutes, as if they were never going to unglue.

-I want you to take care of your Mommy, okay? Sleep on the bed with her, so that she doesn't feel alone.

I smiled when I heard Lauren whisper to Claire.

-Leave it to me, Mama! – my daughter spoke as soon as she was placed on the floor.

-And you, Mrs. Cabello Jauregui, won't you give me a kiss?

I moved away from the desk where I was leaning next to Dinah, and walked towards Lauren who stared at me intensely.

-Of course I will, baby.

Lauren wrapped my waist with her arms, pulling my body slowly closer to hers. Claire stared at us with a mischievous smile, and ran to Dinah's side, who led the little one out of the office.

-I will miss you. – I murmured sadly.

Lauren smiled.

-I will miss you too, Camz. But I'll be back soon and I promise that I'll be back with a birthday present.

I frowned, wrapping the woman's neck with my arms, inching closer to her.

-I don't need any surprise, you know that, right?

-This one you will like, I hope.

Before I could say anything, Lauren asked me to shut up.

-Kiss me, Karla Camila.

-Laur...

-That is not a request, it's an order, Miss Cabello.
