Basically me explaining this Au a bit more. It has my own twist in it and I'll explain that before I write the next chapter so people won't get confused.

This soulmate Au has the red string. In this version, one person can have three strings. A red one for the romantic soulmate and it's on their pinkie.

Then there is the platonic soulmate. A person can have two platonic soulmates.

These colors are made up by me (I think) and you can use them if you want.

Purple is if your platonic soulmate is a girl. A girl best friend who will support you.

Green is if your platonic soulmate is a boy. A boy best friend who will support you.

Blue is if your platonic soulmate is non binary. A best friend who will support you.

The platonic soulmate string is on the index finger.

If your platonic soulmate is trans, then the string will change color.

If they are a trans male, then the string will start out as purple until they transition into male, changing the string to green with a small tint of purple. The string will fully change to green when both people meet up with each other.

Same goes for with trans female.

The romantic soulmate string is red no matter the gender. To keep them guessing.

The platonic soulmate and the romantic soulmate are two different things.

Platonic soulmates are people that you feel a close friendship with and are your go to people whenever you need advice. Like a best friend.

Romantic soulmates are people that you feel a close relationship with. People who are your partners in life. Basically like destiny ships you with said person. Not just anyone but someone who you feel comfortable with, someone that you would truly fall in love with them.

Platonic soulmates can be romantic soulmates later on but it's extremely rare.

Whenever romantic soulmates see their string for the first time, they get a whiff of a scent that is supposed to represent said soulmate.

Example- Chihiro's scent- warm cinnamon
Makoto- soothing rain

The scent grows stronger whenever the soulmates are close. Only they can smell each other's scent. Like how Makoto could only smell Chihiro's scent.

Romantic soulmates can feel whenever their soulmate is in trouble after seeing their string for the first time. They can feel the sadness, the distress and even if they get any injuries.

This Au is still a work in progress so some things may change or I may add on to things.

This is a small explanation of how this works a little bit.
