__________
He suddenly woke up from a strange nightmare, his throat was dry, making him reluctant to get out of bed in the middle of the night to go get water. Along the sumptuous corridors that were constantly lit, he reached the kitchen.
The doorknob turned down, and he slowly opened it.. Wow, luckily it was only his family, specifically his father Bright, or else his heart would have broken. He passed him and left only a polite greeting, asking him to do more when the father and son relationship between the two had never been so good before. Bright must be making another cup of coffee, though he doesn't care. After drinking the glass of water, he passed him again and returned to his room.
-.. I'm awake.
Returning to his room, under the dim light of the bedside lamp and the dark sky with rainstorms that easily make people want to just fall asleep quickly, he pulled the desk chair and sat down there. Starcross often knits for killing time instead of running around or doing something more extreme like playing video games, his body is naturally weak. As he finished knitting another lily, he thought about the nightmare he had just had. In that dream, he saw a scenario where his family was much "closer" than now, there were almost no conflicts and he lived a very happy life. Then the scene changes to the fact that he is locked in a tiny birdcage, outside are his relatives including two fathers and.. Lux.
The dreams varied slightly in plot each time he dreamed them, but the overall result was still horrifying: The birdcage was violently shaken by one of them himself until he died in it.
He stopped knitting, his mind suddenly recalling the events that he had to go through in that boring and scarecrow life. He couldn't even have a decent friend, it was the first and only friend he had that sold him to his unfriendly biological uncle. Then the indifference of the family and the organization even when he was cured and homeschooled. His life was like being trapped in a glass box with four walls.
Blame himself and then blame others? Starcross had tried, but there was no way he could escape being invisible to them.
Remember. Perhaps there was a time when he was in contact with his cousins in the past that was almost forgotten due to the incident with his uncle with almost no memory of it. It seemed that he had come into contact with someone about his age when he was still studying outside. Who is that? He couldn't remember anymore, he only remembered that the person had magical purple Amethyst eyes and a smile as beautiful as an angel.
Pure beauty is like that, but that person has a rather sour personality, for some reason, Starcross does not find it too offensive. But he couldn't forget one thing... Yes, it caused him to commit such a violation of human morality that he couldn't deny it himself. That feeling may have passed into eternity, or it was still there in him, he just didn't know it.
He doesn't know how that person is now. He's curious.
_
Those.. were his last thoughts, before he completely stopped breathing. It is said that when facing death, the brain will start recalling memories to find a way to save yourself or something, but 14 stabs to the body probably can't save anything anymore.
Fourteen strokes, coincidentally also the current age of Starcross. And he will stay forever be 14.
