🥐A Disastrous Design 2/6 🥐
🥐Ingredients🥐
🥐Thank you for returning for a second part of A Disastrous Design. This chapter will be filled with OCs from various writers, including sd1229 's Mori, Ivana, Akiba, Kita, Jinse, and Misaki, aBitGrim's Rose and Clover FoxyPuff's Koto, eVolution04's Hinata, Suki, and Sarada, Duke_Aaron's Blake, Juni_Penguin_'s Akihiko and Tanami, and sun_jin's Kimbi and Ryuji.
🥐WOW!!! That's a ton! I'm sure I've forgotten a few OCs. I know Foxy has some OCs that will be mentioned in future chapters, but they're not featured in this one as they aren't mentioned by name or make an "official" appearance quite yet. If you've read this story already and notice that I forgot an OC or gave you a shoutout, please call me out on it, and I'll correct it immediately.
🥐This will probably be the last time I tag each writer/OC that'll be in the story unless I forgot one that hasn't bee mentioned before now. Thank you, writers that have been tagged, for letting me use your OCs and having them help Sakura get through this fashion disaster.
🥐Now to see if they can come together and actually help her. I hope you enjoy!
🥐Gathering the Ensemble🥐
I woke up to the strong scent of coffee filling my nostrils. My eyes squeezed shut as the strong yet pleasant scent just continued to roll in closer and closer. There was something about the smell of coffee that was just so nice.
Wait...coffee!
I bolted up, finding myself sitting at my desk inside my office. Papers scattered all over it as I must've fallen asleep while I was in the middle of figuring out the last bits and pieces to things.
On a normal night, regardless of whether or not it was the night before a big show or even a regular work night, I would've been sleeping in Mori's and mine's bed in our apartment. I have never slept anywhere else in years. It took me a while to try and process what made last night any different.
Then it hit me. My head snapped over towards the wall in front of me, revealing the reason why I had smelled the wonderful scent in the first place. I didn't look at him. Instead, my eyes snapped up to look at the clock beside the door.
It was seven a.m. I wasn't sure how many hours I had wasted, but I couldn't waste anymore. All fifteen of my models were gone. After what happened last night, I sent them a text explaining to them that they needed to take a mental health day and to just worry about themselves. None of them tried arguing otherwise, letting me know that I had made the right call.
Except, it was a risky call. I was down fifteen experienced models. Five of them were great at quick changes too, so in reality, I needed more than fifteen people to replace them. Finding twenty models in less than twelve hours was a recipe for disaster.
A brown styrofoam cup was carefully placed in front of me. I didn't even let it last a second on my desk as I picked it up and stood up, looking at the man in front of me. There were bags under his eyes, almost as if he didn't get much sleep last night either. Then again, he couldn't have gotten much sleep knowing he was on patrol last night. The only reason why I knew he got any sleep last night was because he was out of his hero costume, replacing it with a pair of joggers and a plain brown t-shirt. His messy hair was tucked under his signature beanie, only this time, he didn't bother hiding his ears in it.
Seeing that much should've made me smile, but I had too much on my plate.
"I called some of our friends from high school like you had asked last night," Mori explained. "Kita and Ivana can come. Akiba and Misaki are both out of the country, and Jinse doesn't seem interested."
"You called Akiba?" I asked in disbelief, remembering how those two would constantly avoid each other if we hung out with any of our friends. They were better now, but it still wasn't like Mori to call.
"He was on the list you gave me; though, thinking about it, you might have had better luck getting him on board than me," Mori admitted.
I rolled my eyes. As if Akiba would listen to me with the amount of times I tried to abuse his Quirk to play matchmaker in high school. That was water under the bridge. Besides, it was the last thing I needed to worry about right now. Jinse was the one I really needed to get on board, but he probably had a good reason for saying no. I'd just need to keep finding more people.
"At least we have Koto, Rose, and Hinata," I told him. "Koto said she knew of some people who could help, and Hinata said he could probably drag Suki into this. Assuming both girls we met last night come when I asked, we are at seven people. That's not even half the people I need."
"We'll figure it out. What about Tami, Kaito, and Raiden? Do you think any of them would do it?" Mori asked.
"Ha," I sarcastically responded. "Good one. Like Tami and Raiden would go in front of thousands of people to help. I can barely get them to even attend one of my private galas. How can I get them to do this? I'd say I could wrap Kaito into it, but I texted him last night and he said he had his patrol."
Mori lifted his eyebrow at my comment. "You charged your phone last night?" he asked.
"Well yeah! I need models if we're going to pull this together," I told him.
The man casually placed his hands on his hips as he tilted his head down to look at my desk. My eyes trailed down to see what he was exactly looking at, not catching on until he snatched my phone off my desk, unplugging it from the charger.
He didn't even give me a second to react as he backed up. His fingers typed furiously on the screen while I placed my coffee on my desk and ran over towards him. I knew what he was going to do, and while I'd normally be fine with it, it was seven in the morning. No one needed to be woken up with what Mori was going to say.
Before I could even get close to him, he brought the phone up to his ear. I could hear a few rings go off as I got to him, but Mori was smarter. He wrapped himself inside his wings, almost creating a wall between us, making it impossible for me to get through.
"Tami, it's me, Mori. You and Raiden need to come to Sakura's agency now. It's an emergency."
On that note, he pulled his wings back, pressing them against his back. He smirked as he looked at me, handing me my phone back.
"You're evil for doing that!" I yelled.
"What‽ It wasn't like I lied. You're short thirteen people. They'll be willing to help. If not with the modeling, with making sure things run smoothly," he explained.
"Twelve, actually," I told him, remembering one person I could easily get to model for me as well.
I didn't say more than that as I walked over towards one of the suits hanging on the mannequin. It just so happened that one of my models had a similar build to Mori, and the only reason I knew was because when I took the model's measurements for the first time, I was shocked that it was the exact same as Mori's. If any of these outfits were going to work, it'd be this one.
Of course, Mori was completely oblivious to this as he glanced over at me, scratching the back of his neck as he did. I didn't dare look at him long, trying to remember if this was the costume I designed that was inspired by a girl I grew up with at the orphanage. True, I wasn't in that place for long, but there was one girl I remembered that was there whose Quirk made her grow angel wings made out of light from her back. It slipped through her clothing with ease, not affecting the clothes until her wings got too hot and would start burning them.
Ever since I noticed the struggles that people with winged Quirks had gone through, I knew I had to do something that would let them have the same advantage as she did. It took years, but I finally figured a way to make wings go through the fabric without any alterations. My hand brushed the back of the blackish-blue material before accidentally seeping through.
The moment my hand found the hole, I looked up at Mori, smiling. His face didn't mirror mine as he started to piece together what was about to happen.
"Oh no, Sakura, I'm not putting on one of your designs," he claimed, shaking his head. "It'll take too much time trying to fit them on my wings when you'll probably have to fix the others to fit whomever helps."
My bottom lip stuck out as I looked up at him with my eyes. "But Mori," I whined. "You said you wanted to help. Besides, I think you'd look so good in it."
Mori ran his hand in his hair, slowly grabbing his beanie as he looked down at the outfit standing between us. I knew he really didn't want to do it, but it'd be the best way to show off the features if he wore it. Luckily for me, I knew that as long as I kept these puppy dog eyes looking up at him, he'd give in.
He sighed before he walked over. "You're lucky you're cute."
I smiled, placing both of my hands on the shoulders of the mannequin. "And you're lucky you're handsome. Now try this on, so I can make the adjustments before anyone else gets here."

While Mori was slipping into the outfit I wanted him to try on, there was a knock at the front door to my agency. After the call Mori made, I knew it was only a matter of time our two good friends, Raiden and Tami, came running into the agency, demanding what was wrong. I didn't want to leave them in the dark much longer, so I rushed to the front door and opened it.
To say I was shocked about the people there would be an understatement. I was expecting a petite woman with long blonde hair, but the woman standing in front of me was anything but short. She was just under six feet tall, making her one of the tallest women I knew with short and frizzy pink hair that barely reached her shoulders. Her most defining features were her two metal prosthetics: one for her right arm and one for her left leg, though her left leg was hidden behind some cargo pants.
Standing beside her was a man I didn't quite recognize. If he was a Pro Hero of some sort, then he looked way different than when he was in uniform (which was nice if he wanted to have some sort of privacy). He stood a little shorter than Rose, but not by much. His indigo hair stuck in every direction, looking a bit out of place with the nice dress shirt he wore.
At least Rose could find someone with a bit of fashion sense, I thought to myself. That'll make putting him in something a hell of a lot easier.
"Hey Sakura!" Rose said with a smile, motioning towards her friend with her metal arm. "This is my friend, Blake. He's going to help out with the modeling problem you have."
The man beside her rolled his eyes before he commented. "I'm willing to help since she technically ate my ears on this." He let out a short laugh after that, adding. "Plus I can't turn down a friend's request."
Thank goodness I'll have at least one person who would be more than willing to wear whatever I put him in, I thought as I showed them inside. Now it was a matter of time we got more people on board. Though, that wasn't even the biggest problem. My outfits were tailored to work on my models. Luckily, most of them were on the taller end that I would just have to do some extra hemming, but for people like Tami, who was even shorter than I was, well, that would be a problem.
Just thinking of the amount of outfits that would need to be resewn made my stomach turn. I glanced over at her while Blake trailed behind us.
"So, as I explained last night, I need help pulling this together by tonight," I told her. "I'm so glad you two agreed to model, but we have a bit of a problem. We have less than twelve hours to get models together, coordinate outfits, and get these outfits resewn." I glanced back at Blake for a moment, who didn't seem overwhelmed with the information I was throwing at them. "Would any of you two know how to sew?"
Blake shook his head.
"I do," Rose said. "If you need me to sew rather than model, I'll be more than happy to do that."
My head snapped back at her, eyes narrowing on her face. "Hell no! I still need you as a model too, but I may need your help with some hemming and adjustments. Once everyone is here, and I can figure out which outfit would best fit each person, you're going to be one of my go to people for this."
Rose frowned at my answer, but nodded her head. I was just so relieved she wasn't fighting this because back when we were in high school, she would. If this girl had the choice to wear the school uniform (which had a skirt for the girls) or a pair of sweats, she'd probably go with the sweats.
Right now, she knew I needed help with everything. I just hope she knew I didn't have any jumpsuits or pants for her to hide in. Rose, and every other female that would come to help, was going to be in a dress of some sort.
The door to my office was cracked, signaling Mori must've finished changing in the bathroom and came back to show me the fit. I didn't waste a second to push the door open, seeing him looking in one of the mirrors I had rolled into my office earlier to see his wings much better.
"How did you do this?" he asked, turning his head so he could look at Rose, Blake, and me. His wings were still turned towards the mirror. "There's no zipper, buttons, and I couldn't find the seams to it."
I smiled. "I got the idea from a childhood friend of mine, Clover. Her Quirk could make wings come out without tearing the fabric, so I've been doing some trial and error to get the same effect, but with clothes."
"Clover?" Rose asked.
I nodded my head. "Yeah. That's her name," I said, wondering if she had changed it with her adoption or something. I just hope she was doing well, especially since she was the nicest kid at the orphanage. Instead of pondering over it, I motioned to the mannequins with the men's outfits on it. "Anyways, there are plenty of outfits you two can look for. Blake, guys' are over there," I said before motioning to the mess of mannequins on the other side, "Rose, women's are over there. Now, I'm not sure what outfits are going to work best until everyone gets here, but you're more than welcome to look at them. I—"
There was a giant ring echoing throughout the building. I didn't realize how loud the doorbell system was until Rose and Blake flinched at the sound.
"Looks like we've got more people. I'll be right back. Just stay put until I come back," I explained as I turned to head out.
"Hey, your office, your rules," Blake commented.
Not knowing what to really say to that, I just walked out and rushed over to the front door once again. Only this time, when I opened it, it was the two people I thought were at the door when Rose and Blake came.
Here I thought they'd be showing up in their pajamas with the way Mori called them, but both of my friends were wearing t-shirts and jeans.
"Is everything okay," the small woman asked. "Mori called and said it was an emergency. Are you hurt? Did something—"
"Tami, it's alright. Though I do need both of your guys' help if you have the time," I told them.
While Tami was somehow smaller than I was, the man standing beside her was practically a giant, standing over a foot taller than she. At first glance, one would think they were a strange couple, especially since the man looked as if he could hurt Tami just by simply touching her. Despite how different they looked, they were practically made for each other.
"We don't have anything better to do," Raiden Yamamoto grumbled.
I smiled, feeling relieved that they were willing to help me out this time.
🥐 ☕️ 🥐 ☕️ 🥐
People slowly started to roll in after that. I ended up standing by the front door while Mori would explain everything to people when they were in my office. Every once in a while, I'd get a text from someone, either saying they were on their way or sending me a picture of an outfit they really liked. I just hope no one got too attached to a certain outfit. I still had measurements to take, and then I'd have to hope that these outfits just needed to be taken in with some hemming and stuff. There was no way I could make any of these outfits bigger.
Kita and Ivana were the first to come, which was strange seeing the girl with the ram Quirk without Akiba or Misaki beside her, but I didn't say a word. Like Mori has said, Misaki and Akiba were both out of the country. There was no way they'd be able to help.
Luckily, another one of our friends came in shortly after, bringing in two more people. Koto did promise to bring some other heroes to help, but I didn't expect her to come with a pair of twins that looked to be made of actual gemstones. Immediately, my mind started thinking of all the glittery and sparkly materials I had in some of the costumes that would just compliment their gem-like hair. The only thing that prevented me from texting someone to get those two into an outfit like that was the fact that I wasn't sure who all would come in and help.
While I knew a Hinata was going to drag Suki with him, I wasn't expecting him to bring another woman with him as well. We needed all the help we could get with this. If we could get all twenty people here before eleven, we'd be running ahead of schedule. Or at least, as ahead as we could get when I had tailoring to do, last minute accessories to figure out, and not to mention, teach twenty people how to walk down a runway.
Again, I tried not to think about it.
By the time the two high schoolers came in, I realized that was everyone we had reached out to. I led the two girls into my office, watching as they both gasped in excitement at all the Pro Heroes and well-known people that were in the room. If I wasn't behind them, I was certain they would be gossiping amongst each other about everyone they had seen.
My eyes quickly scanned the room. Mori, Rose, Blake, Tami, Raiden, Kita, Ivana, Koto, the Mochizuki twins, Hinata, Suki, the blonde haired woman that came with them, and the two high schoolers...fifteen people. Had any of them had any experience with quick changes, I might have been fine, but that wasn't the case. I was still short five people. Of course, as luck would happen, I needed more guys than girls. Why was it always so hard to find guys willing to model?
How the hell was I going to pull this off‽
With all eyes on me, I couldn't show an ounce of nerves that was building up inside me. Besides, if this whole thing failed, then it wouldn't really matter. After the way people targeted my models and I couldn't do anything about it, I knew this would be the last fashion show I'd ever have.
Might as well make it count.
"Thank you all for coming here on short notice," I thanked. "I'm sure many of you have heard on the news by now that last night someone tried to stop my fashion show by kidnapping every single one of my models and threatening them. I'm ashamed to say I had no idea any of this was going on, and didn't realize it until the news came on. Because of this, I told every single one of them to just take care of themselves and not worry about it. Everyone else who works these things won't be in here until two.
"I have my work cut out for me," I admitted, glancing over at the two adults with hair made out of a purple gem and light skin. "Honestly, I'm so thankful you all are willing to come here at last minute and help me. I honestly owe you all big time. In the meantime, I am still short five models for this thing. For this show to work, I need three more guys and two more girls. Would any of you know of anyone who would be willing to come down here and help us out?"
Of all the people to speak up, I was surprised it was Suki Tamura. She was a petite woman with very short black hair standing towards the back of the group.
"Have you tried contacting Ryu Jinse," Suki suggested. "He is better known as The Golden Dragon and appears to be very popular and good on screen."
I glanced over at Mori, who had changed out of the suit he had tried on, exchanging it for his regular shirt and joggers. The outfit must have been a perfect fit, saving us some time for later. He let out a heavy sigh before explaining to the group what he told me just a couple of hours ago.
"He said he wasn't interested in being in a fashion show on his day off," Mori explained.
In the corner of my eye, I could see the two high schoolers I met last night in total awe. Then again, being in a room full of Pros was probably enough for them to go a bit starstruck. I just hope they will be able to keep their cool when they go down the runway tonight.
My eyes didn't wonder on them long as Blake shook his head. "Have you tried calling his agent?" he asked. "With how popular that guy is, he has to have an agent."
His comment shocked me. If Blake was a Pro Hero, I didn't know about it. Maybe heroes having an agent was more common-knowledge than I knew. Regardless, I just stared at the man for his genius idea.
"I'll look him up and call," a gray haired woman named Ivana volunteered as she whipped out her phone to do just that.
A sigh of relief escaped my lips. "Alright, so if by some miracle that works, we're still short four models. At this point, I don't care if they're a big name celebrity or not. As long as we can get everyone over here in thirty minutes, we can finally move on to assigning you all outfits."
The two high schoolers looked at each other for a moment with gigantic smiles on their faces. I turned my head when Kimbi shot her hand into the air. Her purple colored eyes glued onto me as she did, while everyone else just sort of shifted their gaze towards her.
I raised an eyebrow, giving her a silent approval to say what she had in mind.
"Ryuji and I know of some third years from school that could help!" Kimbi excitedly projected. "Whether it's with modeling, backstage stuff, we could get a team of them here as soon as possible."
I released a breath of relief at that. It made me that more happier to have run into those two last night. If I didn't, we would've been short five people, scrambling like crazy to figure out who could come and help.
"Perfect. In that case, I'm going to need everyone's measurements to determine which outfit would best fit everyone, and need anyone who has any experience with a needle and thread to help me with the hemming. I need all hands on deck, you hear me?" I said.
Everyone nodded their head and started to get to work. By the looks of things, I had gotten all of the people I needed to model. As stressful as it was, it was only the beginning to making sure this fashion show could actually run on time.
For everyone's sanity, I just hope it goes well.
