Today was a rough day for all those involved. Anxiety was kicking my hard in the back, while the others laughed at me. So I headed off to the Storybook Café. The little brick building that made up the Storybook cafe had always brought back comfort and warmth.
As I walked in I was greeted by the useual person behind the counter.
"Hi! Hoe may I help you," they cheerfully asked.
"Just the usual, India," I responded.
"On it! We have had some unusual customers today that I believe you would take great interest in."
I raised my eyebrows before asking where to finger these 'unusual' customers.
"Well, most of them have left, but there is a young girl, no more than 14 years old sitting by a young woman and who appears to be the young women's boyfriend. They ordered two coffees and a hot chocolote as well as two bagels and a donut."
Before I whent to say hello to the group of three I grabbed and payed for my hot chocolote.
"Hello," I started, "Do you mind if I sit here?"
"Of course not," the more bubbley of the two girls spoke up.
Grinning I pulled out my blue notebook and took notes. The girl, no older than 14, had brown hair all flopped over to the side. She had a pink dress with a high collar on and dark brown eyes. Her skin was a natural pale color.
The bubbly girl had poofy dark blue hair and light blush skin. She had a light sprinkling of freckles across her face and shoulders. She was wearing a poofy sleeved off the shoulder pirate blouse, it was a blanched white compared to the rest of her.
The boy had dark hair and naturally pale skin. He had dark deep set eyes and looked exhausted. He appeared to be the oldest of the bunch and looked to have been a farmer at one point. He wore a stylish plaid button up with light brown overalls.
"What's your name," the boy asked cautiously.
"Our names are of no importance seeing as we will probably never see each other again," I responded.
"Oh, your no fun," the bubbly one laughed, "Liver, what do you have to say about it?"
The younger girl, Liver as I now knew, solemnly said, "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind are rude and those who care, fly away."
I could feel my face stretching into a smile as I jotted the quote down.
"Welp, that was depressing," the bubbly girl grumbled noticeably less bubbly. While the boy was trying si hard not to laugh.
Quietly I sighed finishing my hot chocolote I stood up.
"It was great talking to ya," I said with a small smile, "but I have got to go."
"But why," the bubbly girl asked.
"Well it has been over an hour and I was only planning on a quick stop."
"Oh. We thoroughly apologize for keeping you here," Liver said.
"You didn't keep me here, this was a quick stop."
With that I left the small booth with three confused people, one bagpipe, and one grinning barista. Outside the booth window. The scenery changed to a dark forest with two glowing red eyes and a grinning smile.
