Twenty-five.
A shrilling scream pierced through the entire house.
"That monster!!!!!" She screamed, picking up a vase, throwing it to the wall.
The vase shattered noisily onto the ground.
"Ahhhhhh!!!" Amanda gave another earth-shaking scream. Her whole makeup had melted from her face, she was makeup disaster. Her mascara had made dark black tears lines down her face, giving her the Dracula's wife look.
Someone else was in the living room with her. Red pixie haircut, slim. She looked younger than Amanda.
"That bastard can't do this to me!" She threw another vase.
"Relax Amanda, you'll ruin the whole place." The lady, stood in the center of the place, taking a long drag on her cigarette.
Amanda groaned out, turning to the woman. "He publicly called off the engagement!!!"
"We both knew this was coming a long time ago." The lady made sure to stay as far as possible away from Amanda to avoid being hit by flying objects.
"No! I won't accept it! Scott can't do this to me!" Amanda picked up her bag.
"Where are you going now?" The lady asked, watching Amanda walk out.
"I am going to get my man back." Amanda said walking towards the entrance.
"Didn't he already call it quits?" She asked Amanda.
"It's not over until I say so." Amanda said, reaching out for the door.

"So I guess that's all for now. I'll get back to you if there are any additions." Daniel said finally closing the meeting with the department head.
Everyone picked up their files, got up to exit the board room.
"Scott, can I talk to you?" Daniel asked, stopping Scott from leaving.
Scott halted, waiting for some seconds before turning to Daniel.
"You wanna sit?" He offered Scott.
"Just say what you want to say." Scott was uninterested.
"Scott I am sorry." Daniel apologized to him.
Scott narrowed his eyes at him. "What exactly are you sorry for? For keeping the truth away from me about Anna or for taking Anna away from me.... Or maybe, hiding the fact that Isabelle is my daughter." Scott asked him.
The last part did get Daniel's attention. "Anna didn't want you to find out about her whereabouts. She made me promise not to tell. And Scott.... I did not take Anna from you, she just was never yours." Daniel said to him.
Scott scratched his eyebrow, chuckling. "Why are you telling me this? Are you both dating now, is that it?" Scott asked him.
"I think you should give her some space. She doesn't want to see you, don't try to force yourself back into her life." Daniel told him.
"And what's it to you?" He scoffed sarcastically.
Daniel sighed. "Scott, you're my brother I would never want to hurt you on purpose. I don't want us to go on like this, mom is not happy." He explained in a civil manner.
"I have passed the stage of being hurt. I don't care about what you did anymore, as long as you stay out of my business then we're cool." Scott told him plainly. "I am leaving." He said, walking towards the door.
"It's too late." Daniel said to his brother. "It's too late to try to amend what you and Anna had, she has moved on. Trust me."
Scott glanced back at his brother, "That's for her to decide." He said, leaving the board room.

"You have a visitor." Naraya said, walking up to Anna's desk.
"Who?" Anna looked up at Naraya.
"Scott." Naraya answered.
Anna frowned at Naraya. "What does he want this time?"
"He wants to talk to you."
"Tell him I don't want to talk to him and that he can leave." Anna sighed, leaning against her chair.
"Did that, but he said if you didn't show up, he's going to make a scene." Naraya shrugged. "I had no choice but to come get you."
Anna ruffled her hair, "he's got to be kidding me." She took in a deep breath. "I'll be back soon."
"Take your time." Naraya gave a tight smile before leaving the office.
Anna did a few breathing exercises as she tried calming her nerves. She made her way to the main dinning area. She was able to spot him seated by the window, Anna noticed that he was busy with his phone. She began taking steps, approaching his table.
As soon as Anna got closer, he looked up and saw her. As soon as their eyes locked, Scott stood up. Her heart did a somersault. Why? Because she wasn't expecting him to look so devilishly handsome. She finally noticed how different he was, his thick full eyebrows, his designer stubble was extremely neat and it gave him the hot Brazilian kind of look, high cheek bones that told her he was confident and cocky, his impeccable two piece navy blue suit that screamed expensive, his height was twice her height and she was sure she only measured up to his chest.
"I take it as a good sign with the way you're eye raping me." Scott said as soon as she stood some feet away. He was smirking at her.
Anna lowered her eyes trying to hide her embarrassment. She cleared her throat. "You wanted to see me?" She looked up, finally gazing into his eyes. Did his eyes sparkle before? What the hell was happening to her?!
"See and talk to you." Scott said, helping her pull out a chair.
"It's fine, I can stand." Anna declined his gestured.
Scott chuckled softly. "Why are you tensing up? It's not good for you." He said still smirking.
Anna eyed him before taking a seat. "Can we make this quick?"
Scott sat across the table, facing Anna directly. He rolled his eyes at her. "Stop being such a grouch."
"Mr Ontario I am a busy woman and I can't entertain you much longer." Anna frowned at him.
Scott chuckled again. "Mr Ontario? The way you say it makes me laugh because I can recall you kept calling me Scott two days ago."
"Why are you really here?" Anna narrowed her eyes at him.
"To check up on you, I wanted to see if you were okay." He answered. "Are you better?" He asked in a voice laced with concern.
"I am fine." She tucked her hair behind her ears. "Any other question?"
Scott nodded, "There is. It's about our daughter, Isabelle."
Anna frowned, suddenly not wanting to talk. "Correction, my daughter. You don't take any credit."
Scott scoffed at the statement. "Anna sweetie, it takes two to tango."
"I am not your sweetie, don't use that kind of endearment on me." Anna glared at him.
He suddenly laughed. Scott found her cute. "You know glaring makes you prettier."
"Are you flirting with me Mr Ontario, if you are, I won't hesitate to call up your fiancée, I have her number." Anna threatened him.
Scott stared at her blankly. "I... I have a fiancée? Since when?"
Anna rolled her eyes... "This meeting is going no where. I suggest you leave."
"No seriously, I don't have a fiancée. Didn't you know?" He raised a brow at her.
It was her turn to scoff. "I am not jobless to be keeping tabs on you, I don't care about you." Anna folded her arms over her chest.
"Ouch." He faked being hurt, placing his hand over his chest. "That was harsh." He smiled at her. "Guess what, I am a hot single bachelor, I am still on the market. My engagement to Amanda was a facade, reasons best known to me." Scott smiled.
Anna gaped, she was no doubt taken by surprise. "Would you look at that, aren't you shameless?"
"What?" Scott stared. He was confused.
"So you just wake up one day, propose to a girl, agree to get married, months later you break her heart calling it a facade." Anna scoffed, mocking him.
"Wait, no, you're misunder-"
"I know what you mean Mr Ontario. Amanda was just a trophy to you and when you saw no use for her again, you dump her, just like that. You're such a cold hearted bastard." Anna said to him.
"That's not what happened, you're getting it all wrong." Scott shook his head and hand at her.
"For one thing I know that you're a man whore, so I'm not surprise." Anna coldly said.
"Wait, what?" Scott blinked at her. He wasn't expecting the sudden judgment from her.
"Just because you always have the upper hand when it comes to women, you misuse it and then you just.... Walk out." Anna told him. "You know what, it's a good thing Isla doesn't know who you are, she'll be ashamed to call you her father." Anna didn't mince her words, she made sure she struck where it hurts hard.
Scott felt like someone had just stabbed him. Why would she say that to him about their daughter? "Anna..." He frowned, the shock was on his face.
"It's best if you just stay away from us. Isla is happy, you showing up would make it difficult for her. I don't want her to find out that her own father didn't want her, that he called her a mistake." Anna stared coldly at him.
Scott gaped, having no words to say. "Tha-that's not true." He said in horror. "Anna please stop, that's not true."
"You said it yourself that it was a mistake, you didn't care. You..." Anna's voice choked.
"Anna.... I am sorry." Scott reach out for her hand but Anna pulled away.
"Sorry? You're sorry?" She scoffed. "Sorry can't fix anything now, can it?"
Scott was feeling bitter, sad and weak. "I know I can't take back what happened seven years ago, but let me make everything right again. I hurt you, I really hurt you." Scott said, sadly.
"You didn't hurt me Scott, you broke me. I just can't let my daughter go through the same thing." Anna shook her head.
"But I want to be in Isabelle's life. I want her to grow with me by her side, Anna I am willing to change because of her." Scott found himself pleading.
"Change? What if you decide to leave one day because you changed your mind." Anna frowned at him.
"What?! Why would I even want to do that? She's my daughter, isn't one supposed to love their kid till the very end? I can't abandon her." Scott countered her immediately.
"You abandoned me. You can do it again."
Scott ran his fingers down his hair, Anna kept on reminding him of the past. "Anna, believe me I looked for you. I tried, I wanted you back. I just... I just couldn't find you." Scott had a sense of flashback.
Scott had gone down to Berkeley to process his admission into the college, when he got back he was shocked to find out that Anna had left the country, he had searched for her using some of his father's contacts. He had taken a gap year on his admission into Berkeley so as to find her. One year was enough to get his family worried and force him to take therapy classes.
"It's too late. I don't want you, my daughter doesn't need you. Scott I am not saying this because I am angry, damn, it's been years already. We were kids, we fooled around, yeah, I already accepted that." Anna suddenly relaxed. "Sorry can't make everything better." Anna shook her head firmly.
"I get it, you're still mad at me. You wanna hit me? Cuss at me? You want me to beg for your forgiveness? Anna I'll do it a million times-" Scott was interrupted.
"Don't you get it? I am not angry, I just don't care about you. All I ask is that you don't bother me or my daughter anymore," Anna put her hands together in begging form. "Stay away from her. Pretend she never existed." Anna told him calmly. "That's all I ask."
Scott bent his head down, rubbing his forehead. "Oh Anna. If you're saying all of these to hurt me, it's working."
Anna narrowed her eyes at him. "If we didn't have this confrontation you won't be feeling this way."
Scott looked up at her, furrowing his brows. Did she just quote what he had said to her seven years ago?
"Isn't that what you said to me before, because if you don't remember, I do." She said, like she read his mind. Anna flipped her hair. "I am not that same girl, she grew up." Anna stood up. "We don't have anything to talk about anymore. I really hope we have settled this matter and we only meet by coincidence Mr Ontario. I'll take my leave now." Anna said, walking out.
He couldn't call her back or even stop her from leaving. His mind was still dazed, trying to comprehend if what had just happened was a mere figment of his imagination or it was the hurtful reality. She didn't care about him.
Anna got back to her office, she was needed to sit and calm her nerves. She never really believed that she had it in her to face Scott.
"Are you okay?" Naraya had just walked in to check on her.
"Oh God." Anna went to her, hugging her. "I need a hug, I am shaking." Anna shut her eyes tightly. "I did the right thing, I did the right thing, I did the right thing." Anna kept chanting as she tried to calm her pacing heart.
"Take it easy." Naraya soothed Anna's back with her hand, stroking it.
Anna pulled away after successfully relaxing herself. "I really hope he leaves for good Naraya, if he doesn't, I don't know what I'll do next."
🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
Scott felt angered at the same time confused by Anna's words. He thought when he finally found Anna that everything would be okay but he was wrong. Anna was different, from the way she talked. Everything about her made him more furious. How dare she?! He was the great Scott Ontario, no one dared to refuse him and now Anna? Maybe he had indeed lost her, but what about Isabelle, his daughter? Was his daughter better off without him? Was she really happy without him? He wanted to be a father to her. Was it possible that Anna had brainwashed Isabelle into believing he rejected her?
Just then, his car stopped. He was about to ask his chauffeur why he stopped when he saw Amanda standing directly in front of the car.
"Amanda?" Scott frowned. He had forgotten about her existence. Ever since he took to social media recanting his engagement to Amanda, earlier that morning.
"You better get your fucking ass outta there Scott!!!"
Scott could her her voice, loud and clear, as she stood looking like a mad woman.
"Sir?" The chauffeur was unsure of what to do next.
"I'll handle it, take the car in." Scott said before getting down and slamming the door shut. "The hell are you screaming for Amanda?" Scott raised a brow.
Amanda was fuming, she waited for his car to enter the compound before talking. "How could you?!" She walked up to him, about to give him a slap but he caught her hand mid air.
"If I were you, I wouldn't do that. Touch me and you'll regret it." Scott deadpanned. "It's over. Get it into that thick skull of yours." He said, before releasing her hand.
"Sc-Scott...." She suddenly became calm as tears flowed down her eyes. "Why are you doing this to us? We were supposed to get married, I was supposed to be the one you choose, I am the one you love." She poked a finger at his chest. "You sonofabitch, you made me the laughing stock. Have you seen the comments on my social media accounts? Everyone thinks I am a loser. You have to take back everything, I have spent a lot of time planning this wedding and it will happen, by hook or crook." Amanda told him, tugging on the lapel of his jacket.
"Are you done?" Scott remained unmoved by her actions.
"You can't do this to me!!!" Amanda screamed at his face.
He scoffed, giving her an eye. "Guess what, I already did. You should be grateful you're still modeling for us. You got enough money from me to last you your entire life, I could even triple it. You got your fame, isn't everyone talking about Amanda Chester? Look up the net, your name appears to be the most searched name on Google today. You're famous aren't you? You got what you wanted from our relationship. It's over Amanda, face it, we're done." His voice deepened, his facial expression was rigid and cold.
"I don't accept!" She yelled at him. "You won't get rid of me just like that, you'll come running back." She snapped at him. "Just like always."
"It's best you save your voice and leave or would you rather I called my security to drag you out or better still, l sue you for trespassing? The damn choice is yours." Scott frowned at her.
Amanda glared at him one last time. "I'll be back Scott, next time, it will be me hurting you." She said curling her hands into a ball before stomping away to her car.
