07 || A Friendly Stranger

Khushali couldn't sleep the night. She was continuously tossing and turning on her side of bed. Sidharth's strange behaviour seemed to have disturbed her a lot. She wasn't irked or upset with his aloofness but was worried for him as he looked quite in distress ever since those mysterious calls started coming for him a month ago.

After they both had coffee which Sidharth made for them, Sidharth excused himself and went to his study while Khushali took rest. A couple of hours later, she was called down by Mehar for dinner. When she went towards the dining area, everyone was there except Sidharth and Arhaan.

Seeing their absence on the dining table, Khushali asked Kavya, "Kavya where's Arhaan? He was here only a while back when I came downstairs to get water. And even Sidharth's not here?"

Her queries were then answered by a hesitant Kavya, who told her, "Uh actually Bhabhi, Sidharth Bhai is helping Arhaan in one the new projects that our company is going to work on. So they both have gone to meet a couple of people."

Though Khushali could sense something unusual in Kavya's tone, she brushed it off thinking it to be Kavya's tiredness after all they all shopped for almost six hours. Khushali didn't ask anything further after this as she felt Kavya not really being herself.

Arhaan and Sidharth returned back after some twenty minutes and everyone had their dinner then. After their dinner, when Arhaan and Kavya were leaving for their home, Khushali saw Arhaan and Sidharth again talking about something in hushed voices, this time Kavya too was there with them.

She could make out that whatever they were talking about, was very serious and there was this hint of fear and uneasiness in Sidharth's body language and he seemed tensed. Khushali not wanting to eavesdrop their conversation left to her room and decided to call it night. Sidharth too came and lied on his side of bed and drifted into deep slumber.

Khushali not being able to sleep due to all the things going on in her mind. Why were they talking in so hushed voices? Normally whenever Arhaan have any problem regarding his business deals, he would talk with Sidharth and Aditya so casually and openly but today he too seemed stressed.

And Sidharth, he told her in the evening that it was just work stress but never in these five months of marriage was he this much stressed about his work. Something was really wrong or was she over thinking? Whatever it is she wished it get fine soon. Because this tensed look doesn't suit Sidharth. I really want to see her happy go lucky Sidharth back to his normal self!

My Sidharth? When did that happen?

While thinking about this, Khushali had no idea when she had turned herself towards Sidharth and was facing a sleeping Sidharth. When she finally realized this, her hand was caressing his forehead which had a few creases. She then looked at him and saw how peaceful and calm he looked after she caressed his forehead. She smiled to herself seeing his cute looks.

She kept her hand on his cheeks and caressed it softly while thinking how unpredictable life is, as she never knew seven years back, that she would end up being Sidharth's wife. It seemed so weird and strange that seven years back he was just a stranger for her and now he was her husband. Life surely is weird! She recalled how they met each other for the first time, seven years back ...

It was her elder sister, Meher's wedding to her college time boyfriend Aditya and Khushali was having mixed feelings. She was very happy for her Di who was going to start a new phase, a new chapter in her life but at the same time she was sad because she would miss her Di.

"Who will cover up my pranks now? Who will take me for shopping? Who will give me weekly treats now? Who will get me chocolates now? Who will save me from mom's scolding?" Khushali sniffed dramatically saying all this. She was sitting with Meher in Meher's room.

Meher rolled her eyes at her sister and replied dryly, "Oye nautanki! Bas haan! Since morning you're repeating this. You're not feeling a bit upset with my wedding! In fact you're very happy that I'm getting married because now mom and dad will pamper you a lot. You are just doing this drama to get mom and dad's sympathy and pampering. And haan I forgot that if you'll cry like this then no one will tell you to do any marriage related work and then you can enjoy yourself, haina? You're just faking this drama to avoid getting any work, right lazy bones?"

Khushali gasped hearing what her sister. She knew her sister understands her perfectly but she never expected her sister to guess this as well. She grimaced and wiped her fake tears. She looked at her sister and said in a complaining voice, "What yaar Di? You always guess me so well. Acha khasa I was doing this drama to avoid getting all those stupid chores but you! You can't see me happy na? It's good that you're getting married, finally now mom dad will do whatever I'll ask them. They'll pamper me now that you'll be gone to your sasural!"

Meher slapped Khushali shoulder lightly and said in an mocking tone, "Baby there's still time for my bidaai so chillax. Now go and give this powdered colours to mom. She was asking for these for making Rangoli. Get up lazy bones and go. And haan be careful, rangolis are going to be made on the floor not on people's clothes so don't start playing Holi with them."

Khushali frowned at her sister but obliged to her orders. She picked up the plate which had the colour powders and went searching her mom.

Khushali looked for mother everywhere in the house but she couldn't find her. She was irritated with roaming in the entire house with those powdered colours in her hands. While walking towards the garden, she thought that her Di couldn't see her happy! Always she made Khushali do this or that work. Uff! But she'll miss her after her marriage a lot.

But poor Khushali couldn't continue think anything more to herself as she was pushed by three little kids and the plate of colours flew from her hands.

"I thought people make rangolis with these powdered colours but you're playing Holi with them. Impressive!" exclaimed a guy in his early twenties. Khushali instantly looked up and saw him completely covered with the colours.

She gasped and said in a horrified voice, "Ohh no! I'm very sorry! Wo these kids pushed me and I lost my balance that's why these colours fell on you. I'm very sorry. C'mon I'll help you wash this off your face and clothes."

The guy nodded his head and said politely, "Yeah sure! And it's okay! Kids are kids, if they won't then who will do pranks?"

Khushali smiled at him and showed him the washroom. The guy went inside and washed the colours off his face and dusted the rest of the colour from his shirt. As he washed his face, Khushali passed him a clean towel. He took it and wiped the water from his face.

Finally he came out of the washroom and spoke to Khushali in a friendly tone, "Thank you Ms..."
"Khushali Kapoor!" replied Khushali immediately.

The guy smiled at her and said friendly, "Thank you Ms. Khushali Kapoor. By the way I'm Sidharth Mehra, you're to be brother-in-law, Aditya's younger brother."

As soon as he said her brother-in-law's name, Khushali's looked at him with shock.

Great! Out of all the people present here, she found only Sidharth to throw those stupid colours at. Awesome!

She smiled embarrassingly at him and said in a guilt filled voice, "I'm very sorry Sidharth. I swear I didn't mean to throw that colours at you, they just fell out of my hands because of my little cousins. Please don't complain about me to anyone, especially to my sister. She already thinks that I'm clumsy and lazy." She pouted while saying this.

Sidharth chuckled looking at her and replied calmly, "Why do you think I'll do your complain to anyone? I said na it's okay so please don't feel guilty. It happens so relax! Okay let's forget this and say friends?"

He asked forwarding his hand. Khushali grinned at him and said chirpily shaking hands with him, "Yeah sure friends!"

"Arre wah! You guys already introduced yourselves," said Sagar. Khushali and Sidharth turned back to see Sagar coming towards them.

He came and stood beside Khushali, "Thank God! You guys are already done with the introduction," he said wrapping his arms around Khushali's shoulder.

Khushali was confused with this and asked Sagar in a confoundedness , "Introduction? You guys know each other or what?"

Sidharth smiled at them and replied to Khushali's curious query, "Yes! Actually Sagar's cousin Vivan is a close friend of my friend. So me and Vivan are also good friend and then through Vivan, me and Sagar got in touch with each other and became friends."

Khushali nodded her head while comprehending what Sidharth told her. She looked up at Sagar and chortled, "Sagar you're cousin is friends with almost everyone in Delhi. Every day I meet at least one person who says that they are Vivan's friends!"

Sagar laughed at her remark and replied to her, "Yeah he's friends with almost everyone in the city. You know he's sort of people's person so yeah he knows everybody and everyone knows him"

They all chuckled on this statement and Sidharth asked Sagar while pointing towards Khushali, "So is she your girlfriend?"

Sagar gave a nod to Sidharth and said in a hushed voice, "Yes! But no one knows about us. So keep mum about this!"

Sidharth agreed to him and replied, "Yeah sure buddy!"

The trio talked for some minutes and then Sidharth and Sagar left. While leaving Sidharth told Khushali, "It was great meeting you Khushali! I look forward being in contact with you in future. And by the way you and Sagar make a lovely pair!"

Khushali smiled warmly at him and replied, "Same here and thank you!"

None of these were aware that day that in some years their equations would change so drastically and life will become like they never imagined it to be!

Khushali came out of her sweet memories when she felt Sidharth holding her hand in his hands. She looked and saw him holding her close to his heart and smiling softly.

She smiled to herself. That day she never thought Sidharth would end up being her husband. Life's surely strange no one knows when it would change. But Sidharth hadn't changed even a bit in last seven years.

She sighed and wished she could say the same for herself. Anyway, she knew one thing for sure Sidharth will always be her most cherished friend in life and she would never want to lose him. I hope everything get fine and he be his usual self again. This stress and tension doesn't suit him at all.

She then tried to take her hand out his hands but his grip was tight. So not wanting to disturb his sleep, she let him hold her hand and fell asleep soon.

Next morning when Khushali woke up, Sidharth again was up before her and was going to take bath. She looked at him and asked him, "Sidharth, you seem to be in a hurry. It's just 7:30 and you already getting ready? Any emergency?"

Sidharth hadn't noticed when Khushali woke up, so was a little startled with her sudden question. He turned to look at her and spoke in a bit stressed voice, "Yeah. There's an emergency so I have to leave early. I've informed Raima to pick you up while on her way to college as I'll leave at 8. And maybe I won't be able to pick you up today, even Mehar Bhabhi is busy today. So you'll be fine coming home with Raima or do you want me to pick you?" Saying that he again resumed taking his clothes out from the cupboards.

Khushali got up from the bed and went to stand in front of Sidharth. She kept her hand on Sidharth's shoulder, turning him towards herself and said in care filled voice, "Sidharth, relax, okay? Calm down for a minute. I know you're quite worked up because of your work but please don't take so much stress, it's not good for your health. I know you're a hot shot lawyer, have tons of cases to take care of, so you obviously have to take a lot of stress but not on the cost of your health. Please don't be in so much stress and calm down. It doesn't suit you!"

She wrapped her arms around him and hugged him. She herself didn't know why but she wanted to ease out his tension so did what came in her mind.

Sidharth was extremely tensed. Things were happening in a very fast speed and he hardly had a minute to think what he was doing and why. It seemed like someone had pressed the fast forward button and Sidharth was being forced into doing things at a much faster pace than they were planned to be done in the first place.

And in all this he had to make sure Khushali didn't get to know a single thing or else he was in a big mess. He hated lying to her and keeping her away from his secrets but he had to. What other choice did he have? He had no choice then to do so otherwise Khushali too would end being in the same mess as him! And he couldn't do that!

When Khushali was telling to him relax and calm down, all he was trying to do was, to find atleast a bit of love for himself. His luck, it was just genuine care of a friend. But he loved her concern for himself.

He too hugged her back and feeling sad for himself and her. He didn't want to make her anxious but he had no other options. He couldn't tell her the truth yet he couldn't keep it away from her as well. One day or the other she'll get to know it but he wished that day doesn't come so soon, not before she fall for him or at least had immense faith and trust in him because he knew if she won't trust him enough then the day she'll get to know the truth, will be the day he would be on the verge of losing her or would've lost her forever! And I couldn't think of his life without her now, because he genuinely loved her.

The thought of losing her made him hug her tighter and pulled her closer. As he pulled her closer to himself, Khushali felt really weird. It was like as if she was able to feel his distress and annoyance over something which was bothering him. If it would've been the earlier months of their marriage than Khushali might have felt awkward with him hugging her like this but after all these months, she knew he would never cross his limits unless and until she won't permit him to go ahead in their relationship.

"I know Khushali you're worried because of me and I'm really sorry for that. But you know my job is not that easy and sometimes things turns really stressful and crucial. This time too it's not an exception. This case is quite complex and confidential that's why I couldn't share anything about it with you. And don't worry wifey, your hubby will be fine! I promise I will take care of myself. Please don't stress yourself out," Sidharth tried ease out her worries.

Khushali smiled and replied to him softly while rubbing his back, "It's okay Sidharth. I understand! But I'm ought to be worried because I'm your wife, though I'll try not stress myself or you out more. Just take care of yourself. And haan don't be tensed, I'll tell Raima to drop me home as well. You please be calm and cheerful, you know like you usually are. I like you that way not this stressed out, serious Sidharth! This Sidharth is boring and uncool!"

Sidharth's heart was flattered with her words, specially her 'ought to be worried because she's his wife', it just made his morning better if not perfect.

He smiled brightly and said in his normal husky voice, "I know that wifey! I'm really cool and awesome. This seriousness doesn't suit me but for a change, once in a while, it's good. Acha now will you let me take bath and get ready or you wanna stay like this hugging me? I don't mind staying like this though. And I know you too don't mind after all everyone wants a fabulous guy like me!"

Hearing this Khushali quickly came out of the hug and muttered while slapping his arm, "In your dreams Mr. Mehra. Now get ready fast. I too have to go for my work!"

"Okay so that's all for today. For tomorrow's discussion, read the next five chapters of the book and we'll review them in class!", said Khushali to her students. She picked her books and bag up and moved out of the classroom. It was her last class for today and she was going towards the staff.

While on her way, she saw Raima come towards her. She smiled at Raima and said, "So you're done with your lectures or any class is left?"

Raima made a sulking face and said, "Na I still have two more lecture before my shift ends. Is it fine with you, I mean you'll have to wait for almost two hours now?"

Khushali smiled at her and replied with her usual politeness, "Yeah it's perfectly fine with me! I'll read my book till then. You should go now or else you'll be late for the lecture and your students would say that such a late latif teacher they have!"

Raima gave a mischievous smile to Khushali and spoke in her bubbly voice, "Baby my students would never say that! You know well my classes mostly have boys who attend the lectures for me!" She winked at Khushali and went from there. Khushali smiled at her best friend's antic and moved to the staff room.

About half an hour later, a peon came and informed Khushali that the college Principal had called her to his office.

Khushali mumbled okay and went to meet the Principal. "Can I come in Sir?" asked Khushali.

The college Principal nodded and said, "Yes sure Khushali. Come in and have a seat!"

Khushali went inside and sat on the chair kept opposite the Principal's chair. She after getting her seated asked in an hesitant voice, "You have called me Sir? Is there any complaints against me or any tasks Mr. Pathak?"

Mr. Pathak chuckled on hearing her question and replied to her, "No, of course not Mrs. Mehra. There's no complaint against you. And how can it be after all you're one of our best teachers. But your other guess is right. I have a work for you. As you know the University every year organises a Literature Festival for all the students and faculties. This year it's our college's turn to organise this event. And I want you to handle this. You're an English Literature professor and obviously the best person to look after the preparations of this event. So what do you say, will you be able to do so? If you say yes then I can surely postpone a few lectures of yours and you won't even have to work extra hours. You will be preparing for this event in working hours only."

Khushali thought for a while and said nervously, "It's fine Sir but I have never really took this kind of responsibility before. What if I mess up or did some error? And this event is really a huge event, so many special guests come for this event. So I don't think I'll be able to keep up to it!"

Mr. Pathak smiled warmly at her and said, "Don't panic Khushali. You should have faith in yourself. I have full confidence in you and your capabilities. And it's not like you'll be handling all this single handedly, I myself will help you out if you needed my help and then there's this event manager who'll be doing most of the work. All you have to do is help her out with the themes and the books which will be required and showcased at the event. You wait for a few minutes that event manager is on her way only. She'll be reaching here soon. I'll introduce you both and you guys can get on work from today only, okay?"

Khushali gave a nod in agreement and mumbled okay as she knew she couldn't back out of it.

After about 10 minutes there was a knock on the door while Mr. Pathak was explaining about the event to Khushali.
"Come in!" Mr. Pathak said in his authoritative voice.

Khushali turned back to look at the new entrant who entered the room. The new entrant was a woman dressed in blue jeans and white button down shirt with her hairs tied in a high pony. She came in and said formally, "Hello Mr. Pathak, I'm Mayera Shah, from Starlight Event Management Company."

Mr. Pathak got up from his seat and shaking hands with Mayera, said, "Hello Ms. Mayera Shah. I'm glad you got time for us even on such short notice."

Mayera gave him a small smile and said, "It's my work Mr. Pathak. And I'll be more appreciative if we get directly to work. Could you please introduce me to your teacher with whom I'll be working?"

"Sure Ms. Shah. I know you're quite a busy woman. So without wasting your time now, let me introduce, Mrs. Khushali Kapoor Mehra, our college's English Literature teacher. And she's the one who'll be working with you on this event," said Mr. Pathak, indicating toward Khushali.

As Mr. Pathak mentioned Khushali's name, both Mayera and Khushali looked at each other and Mayera spoke in a friendly manner, forwarding her hand, "Hi! I'm Mayera Shah, your event manager for this 'Literature Festival 2015'. I look forward to working with you Mrs. Mehra."

"Nice meeting you too Ms. Shah. I'd be glad to work with you," replied Khushali, shaking hands with Mayera.

For the next fifteen minutes, Mayera, Mr. Pathak and Khushali discussed about the theme of the festival. But their discussion couldn't go ahead as Mr. Pathak received a call for the all principals meetings, called by the university heads. He was leaving when he told Khushali and Mayera, "You guys can go to some cafe or restaurant and discuss the rest of the things. I'm really sorry I had to leave this discussion in midway but it's not in my hand."

Mayera quickly replied to him, "No it's okay Mr. Pathak. I'm okay with it. Anyway I was also thinking about going to a cafe with Mrs. Mehra to talk about a few things. You're fine with it Khushali?"

Khushali blinked her eyes in confirmation and replied to Mayera, "Yeah, it's okay with me. We should sort everything out for the event before we start with the preparations."

After this both Khushali and Mayera went to a cafe located near the college. The both got settled on one of the tables and Khushali said, "Umm Mayera would you excuse me for a minute? I need to make a call to my friend to inform her I'm in this cafe as I'll be going home with her."

Mayera smiled at her and replied in a sweet voice, "Yeah sure darlin! Inform your friend, till then I'll order snacks and coffee for us." Khushali quickly called Raima and told her to pick her up from this cafe. Raima agreed and ended the call as she was going for her last class.

Their order was served and both of them started talking. Their ideas were somewhat similar and both of them hit it off instantly. While sipping her coffee, Mayera said in a curious voice, "Uh Khushali, you know normally I don't get much involve with my clients but you're different. We have so much in common. I really would love to become your friend! What do you say?"

Khushali smiled warmly at her and replied in her usual lovely voice, "Yeah I too would love to be your friend. You're very talented Mayera and your ideas and concepts for the event are just amazing! Since when have you been working as an event manager?"

Mayera smiled at her and in an enthusiasm filled voice, said, "Thank you! Well I have been working as an event manager since last six years but you know I always dreamt of becoming this since I was a little girl. The whole idea of organising and handling an event fascinates me like anything and I couldn't help but indulge myself more and more into this so that's why I opened my own event management company. Though I have many people working under me but I personally check that everything is being done according to my clients. And talking about you then I can't deny Khushali you're a walking Library. I have never met a person who had read as many books as you! That's very cool you know!"

Khushali being Khushali felt a little shy with the compliment and said shyly while playing with her fork, "Thanks a lot Mayera. That's very sweet of you!"

"You're name is quite long you know. Khushali Kapoor Mehra! Since how long have you been married?" asked Mayera nonchalantly.

Khushali felt a little awkward with the way Mayera asked her question about her marriage but she didn't pay attention to it and replied casually, "I have been married for last five months. Actually I was changing my name to Khushali Mehra but my husband told me not to remove my maiden surname as I wasn't really happy removing my maiden surname and said that I should keep it in my name. So because of that my names' that long. But yeah I prefer people calling me just Khushali Mehra."

Mayera slightly moved her in a nod and said, "Well your husband seems quite caring and loving. Yours is definitely a love marriage, right?"

Khushali pressed her lips together and replied awkwardly, "Uh no! Mine is an arranged marriage. But haan he's very caring and sweet. Sidharth, my husband is actually my elder sister's brother-in-law and then our families decided to get us married as well. So umm that's how I became a Mehra from Kapoor."

Mayera sipped her coffee again and asked Khushali in a different tone, "By the way isn't your husband the same Sidharth Mehra, who is the co owner of the Mehra Law Firm?"

Khushali nodded her head in a yes and said, "Yeah he is. He's a lawyer!"

Mayera smiled teasingly at her and said, "Ohh so your husband is a 'Liar'?" She emphasised on the word liar.

Khushali chuckled a little at her and said, "Yeah he is!" When Mayera asked Khushali about her marriage and Sidharth and said the word liar, don't know why but Khushali saw this unknown glint in her eyes which she couldn't decipher.

Maybe she was just stressed for Sidharth that's why she thought like that. But Mayera was a nice person. She seemed good, just a little intrusive and mysterious. Or maybe she was meeting Mayera for first time that's why she felt this.

Both of them continued talking about their works along with their discussion for the literature event. They both were then joined by Raima who took her seat beside Khushali and joined their conversation.

After some minutes, all of a sudden, Mayera said, "I gotta go guys. I have an emergency. Khushali I have your number with me. I'll call you tomorrow to discuss about some more details. And it was nice hanging out with you two. Bye and take care!"

Khushali and Raima bid bye to her. Khushali felt weird with the way Mayera left suddenly because they were having a good conversation and from anyway it didn't look like that Mayera had any work but she brushed it off as just a stupid thought. She and Raima were still in the cafe, when Raima said, "Hey look that's Sidharth na with your brother-in-law Arhaan and who's that man with them?"

Khushali turned and looked in the direction Raima was pointing to. It was Sidharth and Arhaan with a new guy she had never seen before. She looked at Raima and said in an unsure voice, "Yes they are but I don't know who's that guy. And what are they doing here?"

Raima slapped her forehead and sarcastically said looking at Khushali, "They are here for playing football. Of course for having coffee. And what type of wife you are that you don't know where your husband is roaming and with whom? C'mon let's go towards them and find out who that hot guy is!"

Khushali looked with disapproving expressions at Raima and said, "I don't think that's a good thing now. I'm his wife not a secret spy that I'll spy on him and leave it na, they must have came here for some deal or something."

But Raima didn't budge and grabbing Khushali's hand, she moved towards the three guys seated in one of the isolated corners of the cafe.

"Hey Jeeju! What are you doing here?" said Raima cheerfully. But her cheerfulness was only met by Sidharth, Arhaan and the new guy's shocked looks!

Sidharth after leaving for his office early morning, had been very busy throughout the day. He was busy dealing with a case of his defrauded client. When he was free, he got a call from Arhaan, who told him, "Sidharth, we both want to meet you now. Yes it's urgent. Yeah I know you're busy but right now you're work isn't as important as our problem. Yeah I'm coming with him to Orchids Cafe. We'll reach there by 6. You too reach till then."

Sidharth groaned as he was having a severe headache but said okay. He reached the cafe before Arhaan and the guy he was supposed to meet and took a table in the isolated corner of the cafe. Five minutes later he was joined by Arhaan and the new guy. "Hey Arhaan and hi Jay! Take your seat guys," said Sidharth while gesturing Jay and Arhaan to sit.

They both sat down and Sidharth said coldly, "Jay so how's everything going on? Have you done whatever I told you to do?"

Jay nodded and said, "Yes everything. We're now just waiting for him to return from London in a fortnight. Once he comes back then we can go ahead with our plan. I really want this to end soon or else you know well that if this thing went on for a long time, then surely we'll be doubted and that means trouble for us!"

Sidharth and Arhaan agreed on that and Arhaan said in a plain voice, "What about Mia? How much time will you take to tell us about her whereabouts?"

Jay glared at Arhaan and replied rudely, "I can only find her once you give me more details about her. Except her picture and name, I don't know anything about her. It's not easy to find her in a city as big as Delhi that too without inviting any trouble for us."

Sidharth, who was hearing all this silently, interrupted these two and said in calm yet cold voice, "Arhaan, he's right. You need to give us more information about Mia. Without knowing anything except her name and picture, Jay and his team can't find out about Mia's location."

Arhaan looked with dismay at Sidharth and said, "But that was all I know. She's just a family friend's daughter. That's all I know that she's in Delhi since last one week. And she's not any threat to us then why are you so much worried and hells bend on finding about her?"

Sidharth shot Arhaan a deadly glare and said in very dangerous voice, "You're saying that she's not a threat for us? You know well Arhaan, she knows each and every detail about our plan. And if even by a chance she spills that out to anyone, then we all will get in a really dirty mess. I don't trust Mia with our secrets and she's aware of that. And what if she gets to Khushali and told her everything? Will Khushali believe me over Mia after knowing the truth? We hardly have any proofs to prove ourselves right though that can be solved in some time.

"Khushali would get all of us in trouble if she gets to know the truth from anyone else than me! I don't want her to get involved in all this. But I know she has started doubting me. And the credit for this goes to you Jay! I had told you so many times not to call me when I'm at home but no, since last one month, you have always almost called me when Khushali was around. Though I had told her that it's my clients' number but I know she doesn't believe me completely! But what scares me more is her safety. If anyone apart from us gets to know how she's connected to me then it will surely be dangerous for her. I can't put her in that risk. So please find out about Mia soon. I need to make her understand a few things before she does something she shouldn't do."

Jay gazed at Sidharth with a little soft look in his and said understandingly, "I agree with you Sidharth. Your fears are right and it makes no sense for us to get Khushali involved in all this. But you know we'll have to tell her the truth one day but never mind now. We can wait for the right time. And talking about Mia don't worry I'll find her soon and make sure she doesn't get in touch with Khushali ever. And I'm really sorry for the trouble I've caused. I'll make sure not to get you in trouble again."

Sidharth nodded and spoke in a bit soft voice now, "I'm tired of this drama. Once he's back from London, we'll end this all soon! I don't want to lose Khushali because of all this. And Arhaan you as well make sure my sister doesn't get too involved in all this."

Arhaan finally spoke after a long silence, "Don't worry Sidharth. I won't let anything happen to Kavya and she only knows very little about all this. Relax! Everything will be fine. We've handled everything till now, we'll handle it for some more time. Don't worry. We'll make sure that all this fiasco doesn't cause any trouble between you and Khushali or in our families." Sidharth pressed his lips together and was about to reply to Arhaan when Raima interrupted the trio.

Arhaan was the first one to recover from the initial shock and said, "Oh hey Raima and Khushali Bhabhi! You guys here?"

Khushali felt an unknown fear in her heart seeing the shocked faces of the guys but covered it up and said, "Yeah we were having coffee here and Raima saw you guys so we umm approached you guys. I hope we didn't disturb your serious conversation!"

Sidharth noticed Khushali's astonishment and something came in his mind. He got up frpm his seat, went towards Khushali and said, "Of course not wifey! You and disturb me, never! Anyway let me introduce you to Jay, Jay Shekhawat, he's a cop and the same mysterious caller who have been calling me since last one month. Jay you better apologise to my wifey for troubling me and her. You know how much worried she was because of seeing me in so much stress!"

Jay noticed Sidharth's signal and quickly plastered a smile on his face and said, "Very sorry Mrs. Mehra but what can I do? He's a lawyer, I'm a police officer, our pair is made by law! And we still have a few things to take care of together. But I'll try not to give him more stress now!"

Khushali smiled at him and responded back, "Yes that will be better. And you can call me Khushali. I don't mind that. By the way Sidharth you said that number was of a special client, but here its Jay! And you didn't even save his number in your contacts!"

Sidharth replied immediately, "Wo he is very special client for me! He has helped me with getting proofs for winning my cases. So that's why. And you know he keeps changing his number in every couple of months so that's why I don't save his number. Acha forget this. You guys are going home?"

"Yes we were but if you wanna go somewhere with your wife then I won't mind!", said Raima winking to Sidharth before Khushali could say anything.

Sidharth gave a small laugh and said, "No not today. You can keep your best friend with you for some more time as we are still not done with our discussion."

Khushali quickly replied before Raima could utter something, "Yeah sure we were leaving anyway. And Sidharth here take this medicine for your headache. Don't drink too much coffee, it won't help your headache. Okay bye guys and Jay it was nice meeting you!"

"The pleasure is all mine Khushali," replied Jay. Sidharth smiled to himself seeing his wife's care for him. She understood why he was drinking this strong coffee. Maybe his wifey would understand him when he'll tell her the truth. Maybe!

Khushali and Raima then left from after saying bye to them.

As soon as they left, Jay turned towards Sidharth and said slowly, "You told me not get you trouble and you here yourself told her that I'm the one who's been calling you all this time. Why?"

Sidharth shrugged his shoulders and replied casually, "Because I felt like doing do so. It will reduce Khushali's worries for me. Okay now let's get back to our discussion, we need to be very precise and perfect this time because as soon as he'll return from London, we'll execute our plan!" And these three again started discussing about their plan.

Khushali knew there was an underlying meaning to what Jay said, but what it was? She decided not think about it and focus on the upcoming literature event. Though it was different that heart was telling her that things were again about change in her life!
