Chapter 4
"I will always miss her. But our love is like the wind. I can't see it, but I can feel it."
- Nicolas Sparks,
A Walk to Remember
The deep blue eyes with green flecks stared right back at me.
He was attractive and good looking but the time he opened his mouth, all the compliments and adjectives for him went out of the window. He was an obnoxious, narcissistic, arrogant and cold-hearted person.
I have never been the one to judge a person without knowing them personally but this man, he seems like he rules the world from the two calls he attended and the way he spoke to the vendor. I sighed, he will not apologize.
"I am sorry on behalf of this bhagad Billa, Uncle." I gave him a sad smile and he returned one of his own.
"It is okay, dear." He patted my head in a loving manner. I could see the man sitting across from me scrunching his nose.
"Do you have Aloo Puri, Uncle?" I asked eagerly when I saw the tray he held. He happily nodded and passed me the wrapped container.
I beamed at him. "Thank you, here is the money." I paid him but he looked hesitated to take it.
"Just consider it as my love, kid. It is rare to see a child like you and my heart is already filled with happiness more than this notes could give me by your words. Thanks, child. May God bless you," He said and made his way out before I could insist.
Everyone has a story to tell, the world needs more people like them. He has old clothes, only a few years to live and was living in poverty maybe but he is richer than the businessman sitting opposite me because the old man has a kind heart and that is only the thing mattered. When we die, the money we earned or the house we built doesn't matter but only our doings.
"Did you just call me a bhagad billa?" My eyes met the hazel eyes filled with fury.
"I think I just called bhagad Billa to bhagad billa. Are you angry Khanji Ankhowala Bhagad Billa?" I teased and saw him clench his first. I hit a nerve, good job, Anika.
"Don't dare to call me that again," He snarled and I felt a shiver from his voice but I looked straight in the eye.
"What will you do, Bhagad Billa? Are you feeling michimichi?" I asked, taking the book and earphones out from my bag.
"You don't know who I am. I am Shivaye Singh Oberoi. I can destroy the world you built and make sure you are crawling in the streets. Don't ever mess with Shivaye Singh Oberoi again,"
"Are you done saying Shivaye Singh Oberoi like a parrot? Because I am." I said and heard him mumble something under his breath.
When I saw him play with his phone, I took a deep breath before opening my book A Walk to Remember by Nicolas Sparks. The smell of the new book and the excitement rushed making me completely forgetting about the life outside and getting lost in the fictional world.
She had a slight smile on her face.
"I'd love to," She finally said, "on one condition."
I steadied myself, hoping it wasn't something too awful.
"Yes?"
"You have to promise that you won't fall in love with me."
I knew she was kidding by the way she laughed, and I couldn't help but breath a sigh of relief. Sometimes, I had to admit, Jamie had a pretty good sense of humor.
I smiled and gave her my word.
Only if he knew.
I smiled while reading the book which brought tears to my eyes and made me believe in miracles. Maybe someone will be there for me too.
I had finished the book and there is only a half an hour to reach my destination. My home.
"Where are you going?" I asked Shivaye who was looking out the window in a calm way.
"Why would I tell you?" He asked, back to his normal mood. Angry and arrogant.
Whenever I traveled in a train or any public transport, I will be leaving after only making a friend but this time an enemy. I always loved to make new friends, getting to know the people who live a completely different life than yours in culture and everything. I have been always a chatterbox, chirpy and a smiley face.
A smile is always a treat to watch. A little thing like curving your lips into a smile can make others day more beautiful or maybe give them a hope in their life. A smile can be the beginning of a friendship and my dad loved my smile, he made me promise that I will always wear it.
"Come on, it won't be that hard." I pouted slightly which always made wonders with my dad.
"Delhi," He answered and looked away.
"That is amazing but not so amazing because I am also in the same place."
"Then I wish I never come across you." He smirked and I wished so much to wipe it off from his beautiful face.
"But why are you going there?" I asked, blame on my curious mind.
He gave an irritated look but nevertheless replied, "I am going for business."
"Suit yourself," I said as I kept my bags ready.
"But do you know who I am going to meet?" He asked and I shook my head.
"Madhav Bansal, richest and most well know a businessman in India and also in the world."
I kept a fist in my mouth as I tried to suppress my laugh but only to fail. He stared at me like I was a puzzle but at the same time like I am a weird girl who needs help.
A big surprise is on your way, Shivaye Singh Oberoi.
