John's POV

"Hey Martha, I know this is sudden, but do you think I could stay with you for a while?"

"Of course, no problem, I've got a guest bedroom anyways"

She gave me her address and I caught the train over to hers.

I pushed the buzzer, she lived in a very expensive looking apartment.

"Come up!" I heard a fuzzy voice say from behind the speakers.

"JOHN" Martha enveloped me in a tight hug when she opened the door to her apartment. "It's been so long" I smiled, ear to ear, I could trust Martha and I have since we were seven years old.

"Too long, here come in, I've got the guest bedroom ready" she welcomed me in and her apartment was absolutely glamorous. Chandeliers and glossy grey walls, fluffy white rugs and leather sofas. "Wow" I gasped. "It's pretty nice, I love it here, how long do you plan on staying?"

"I have no idea" I replied.

"Well, we'll find out then won't we"

Alex's POV - 2 months later

Two months.

Two fucking months

The FUCK!?

No answered calls, no answered texts. He hadn't answered anyone's texts. We knew he was alive because he read them all but NEVER RESPONDED.

Peggy's POV

2 months. This was some kind of joke? Some kind of FRICKING JOKE.

Alex didn't ever leave his dorm except for classes and sometimes when he was in his best mood, where he actually smiled, he'd sit with us at lunch.

Alex dropped his tray on the table, all that was on it was some mashed potato and an apple juice box.

"So, it's been two months" he grumbled sticking the straw angrily through the hole. It took him a few tries, he barely slept and basically couldn't do anything except write.

"Yep" I said, using my fork to play around with my pasta.

"I thought he'd be back, in like, three days" Eliza said, chugging down her water.

"When do you think he'll be back mon ami?" Laf asked.

"I hope never" Alex scoffed. I know he meant it a little. John's excuse for leaving was that he wanted to keep Alex safe but now Alex barely ate, slept and he would pass out at least five times a week. John had ruined him. No one disagreed, we were all mad at John, not just because he had ruined Alex, who was barely even human anymore, but he'd left us. This wasn't some glamorous life where we'd instantly forgive him.

"He'll be back" Hercules grumbled. "I hope it's his dead body, if it's not, I'll make it dead for him" we all snickered.

It even made Alex smile just the tiniest bit.

John's POV

"I'm bored" Martha groaned.

"Starbucks?"

"Nah"

"Maccas?" (A/N I'm Aussie let me and my slang be lmao )

"Nope"

"What do you want then? Sex" I joked.

"Yep"

"What"

"I want sex" she said seductively.

"I have a boyfriend"

"Who you have made no contact with in two months"

"He's still my boyfriend!"

"You left him for two months I don't think he'd want to be your boyfriend"

"I AM GAY MARTHA" I screamed, I was suddenly shaking. My childhood friend... liked me? And tried to get me to cheat on my boyfriend? Well, whatever Alex and I are now.

"I can change that" she rubbed my thigh.

"Martha stop"

"No" she hovered her hand over a place that should never be hovered over with out consent.

"NO GET OFF" I ran to the guest bedroom, packing my back pack.

"stayyyy" she said seductively, standing in the door way.

"No!" I pushed past her and stormed out the door. But not before she squeezed my butt.

"I'll get to you later" she said seductively as I ran to the elevator.

I knew where I had to go. And I wasn't sure I'd be welcome.

Alex's POV

I heard a knock on my door. It was probably lafayette trying to get me to go to a bar.

"Laf I'm not in the moo- " I opened to door to see the last thing I wanted to see, but also all I ever wanted to see.

"Alex" John mumbled

"Don't call me that" I glared.

"What? Why not"

"Only my friends call me that "

"Alex, I'm your boyfriend-"

" what a great one you are. Leaving me to be depressed and suicidal, attempting to starve myself, crying myself to sleep every night, barely talking to anyone. You're such a great boyfriend" I said, the last and first bit in a sarcastic tone.

"Alex I'm sorry I've been a bad boyfri-" I cut him off again.

"YOU, John Laurens ARE NOT my boyfriend" I shouted, slamming the door in his face. I instantly broke into sobs and fell up against the door. What do I do?
