The basic idea of Strangers first came to my mind from my own personal diary, after completing my first story in wattpad I was really excited to start two new books and I was enthusiastically writing both of them side to side it was around this time that the fear of running out of ideas entered my mind which absolutely freaked me out which also led to slow updating of both my books, so I desperately started searching for a new story failing pathetically at that attempt I considered writing the first ever story I had written in my personal diary back in 2015 while going through the pages of that old diary for research purposes this crazy thought entered my mind- what will happened if an outsider read this diary won't they assume this whole story is something that had actually happened to me? It was from that minor taught that the basic idea of Strangers was born, but strangers was never going to be a current project I was planning to write it when I run out of all the ideas but it was around this time one of my friends asked me if I could come up with a story for a short film, and I taught the story of Strangers would be nice so I started developing the story adding all the elements, while researching for this book I had decided that I will use Kartik Aryan as my male lead because he was a fresh face in Bollywood and I had only seen him in two movies and still he left a lasting impact I started collecting his clips after that and ran into the trailer of Pyaar ka Punchnama 2 the whole character of Sweety and all insecurities about the relationship part was heavily influenced by the movie and like that Strangers was born.

I initially intended to write a simple funny and romantic story but a few days into the book I thought this whole thing was a huge mistake first of all I felt kind of lost writing this book I uploaded the first chapter a long time after the book was published and when it did came out no one actually cared and then the short film project got cancelled, no one was even reading the book it was one of my lowest viewed books on wattpad at a point of time I even considered deleting the book but then I thought I would just finish it off somehow and just get it over with but it was during that time Luka chuppi came out and I instantly fell in love with Kartik and Kriti their paring was so great and I was dying to make edits on them I started asking people in wattpad to let me know if anyone was writing a story on them so that I could make their trailers and stuff I did get some requests but I wanted more, I wanted to work with the couple and even though I almost instantly came up with an idea for a sequel to strangers I didn't think it would be a great idea considering what a failure Strangers was.

But then everything changed as I fell into a serious case of depression and I kept all my projects on hold and wrote Badla and the depression actually made my writing more intense and meaningful and I really loved the change and Strangers changed drastically when I restarted writing that book and in a really good way even though the whole plotline of Sweety started on a funny note the issue it showcased was not funny at all I have seen many women who just want to have complete control over the guys they are with and it also happens vice versa so as a feminist I have mostly only addressed the issues faced by women and I thought it would be a great opportunity to address the issues faced by men as well, and that's when the story changed drastically and when it approached the end there was a lot of emotional moments and it was an ending which I really loved writing. And my biggest dream of getting Karthik Aryan and Ayushman kurrana in one scene also came true which was amazing I think it was just hilarious when Aryan ran to him and kissed him.

So I wanted to start strangers 2 the day Strangers ended but there was a couple of things I have been waiting for one important one of them being Love Aaj Kal 2 because I wanted to add a Sartik section of the story and also I wanted the book to be a Valentine's day release mainly because it was my first intense love story and one thing which I knew for a fact that will be in the trailer was the accident scene from Chal waha jaathe hai because Kriti just gave an amazing performance in that video.

So when I begin writing this book I knew I wanted it to be a little bit more intense and romantic than the first part but I have to admit it was since the chapter about the wedding the whole idea of the book came into a circle, and as I talked about the problems faced by guys I wanted to address the problem by women to showcase how different both of them are men may have a lot of issues caused by women but when it comes to women it's a whole other story there is forced marriages, incomplete education, marital rape and much more I knew I couldn't address all of them but I wanted to address a few starting with forced marriage.

The whole part about her love story with Samir was written with the idea that she had through a drastic change after marriage before she was this girl full of life doing whatever she wants and having a lot of fun and dreaming and living in this fairy tale from outside everything is fine but from inside Rashmi had went through a drastic change when she was with Samir she was free she did anything she wished to do and in the next scene we see how she is asking Aryans permission for simple things and you realize how much has this marriage changed her. And that's also why her anger towards her parents is somewhat justified. Even though she was happy she had made a whole lot of sacrifices.

You know I actually thought that Rashmi was going to get a lot of hate because she takes impulsive decisions she cheats on her husband never listens to Aryans side of the story but most of my readers actually sympathised with her which was a pleasant surprise for me because they understood that at the end of the day Aryan and Rashmi were just two strangers forced to be with each other they had no reason to even care about each other but they did but still they were together because they had to and not because they wished to. I thinks it's a good thing that Rashmi didn't just stay at home crying she went out and found love again which many people don't have the guts to do, you know after writing this story I was like I wish I was like Rashmi. I learned a lot from her to be honest.

So Aryans final choice was a crucial part of the story because you should eventually be with someone you love but in this case there was love in both the cases so to come to a conclusion I tried comparing both the relationships only to realize how dumb I was I mean its love you should just be with the person who makes you happy and it was obvious who made him happy. So the choice was actually simple.

And then came my most favourite part the story of Samira, so Samira was a character which gave sense to the whole 2 books because it was her character ark which explained why things were the way they are and also I was obsessed with Sartik after watching love Aaj kal 2 so it was an amazing experience writing it. I was so nervous actually after uploading the chapter I would open up my wattpad every few minutes and refresh it many times eagerly waiting for the response of the readers because if I messed it up the whole point of both the books will get lost but it turned out fine and I am really happy about that.

So even though Strangers was a project that looked like something that had hit a dead end by the time the second part ended it became one of my most successful books it got so many fans I constantly got so many nice comments it was a project I really enjoyed and all thanks to all my incredible readers who made the book what it is today.
