Mystic Falls, 1864

It was dark outside when Amelia hears two gunshots coming from around the house. She heads downstairs and when she reaches her front door, she sees her father standing there with a shotgun and her two brothers laying on the ground. They were shot by their own father. Giuseppe looks at his daughter and his expression softens. "Amelia, please get back to your bedroom."

Amelia's eyes start to water and she glares at her father. Without a warning, she runs to where their brothers' bodies were and kneels besides them. "Damon, Stefan... I cannot believe father killed you. This is all Katherine's fault!" She hears a horse and stands up in fear but is immediately shot, caught in the crossfire.

The redhead's body lays on the dirty ground when Katherine appears and strokes Amelia's face. "You will be fine, Amelia. Forgive me for getting your brothers killed. I truly loved them." She feeds Amelia her blood and kisses her forehead before disappearing.

Mia is drinking at the Salvatore Boarding House when Caroline shows up. She immediately hugs the redhead and is taken by surprise when she hugs her back. The two stay silent for a moment until Caroline starts talking. "How are you? Jeremy was your friend so you must be terrible."

"Jeremy told me he loved me before being killed." Mia sheds a tear while reminiscing about that moment. "I swear I'm going to kill Katherine for everything she has done to all of us."

Caroline stays silent, as Mia talks and drinks. "Elena is gonna need your support and right now your grudge against Katherine has to come second. Trust me, I want her dead as much as you but Elena lost her brother and every single family member she ever had."

Mia nods. "I know and I feel terrible because for over a century I thought I was all alone in this world. But Katherine deserves to suffer and Elena has my brothers and you to keep an eye on her." She sighs. "I need to find Katherine and make her pay for everything, especially for killing Jer."

Both girls sit on the couch while drinking, until Matt walks inside. "Nobody knocks around here!" Mia states, slightly annoyed.

Matt has tears in his eyes and then hugs Mia. "She killed him. Katherine killed my friend and stole the cure. How come she always wins?"

Mia stares at Matt's blue eyes and touches his shoulders. "She's not gonna win, Matt! I'm gonna try to find her and once I do, I will kill her. I've watched Katherine manipulate my brothers for months, she tricked me into thinking they were dead, she turned Caroline into a vampire, manipulated everyone around her to get away from Klaus and now she killed Jeremy. This has to stop and I'm the right person to do it."

Matt and Caroline look at Mia with serious expressions, making sure she doesn't put herself at risk. Mia is set on killing Katherine no matter what the cost is.

Everyone is gathered at the Gilbert house when Mia arrives. Bonnie scheduled a meeting because she found out Shane's plan at the island and she wants to share what she has learned. "Are we creating a secret society for supernatural creatures?" The redhead smirks.

Stefan rolls her eyes and then turns to Elena. "My sister mourns by making jokes about everything. It's kind of her process."

Caroline nods while glancing at Elena. "Everybody grieves differently. The important thing is that Mia is here."

Elena turns to Bonnie. "What did you discover?" She asks nonchalantly.

Bonnie sighs. "Shane wants to ressurrect his dead family by awakening Silas. He's alive now, just not in his original body."

"What does that mean?" Mia asks with a raised eyebrow.

"It means that Silas is not one hundred percent strong. For the Expression Triangle to be complete, it requires one last sacrifice." Bonnie looks around the room. "Pastor Young started it all by committing suicide and killing eleven Council members along with him. Klaus completed the second sacrifice by killing his twelve hybrids. All that's missing is one last supernatural sacrifice."

Stefan stares at Bonnie. "Like twelve vampires."

"Or twelve witches." Elena adds.

Bonnie nods. "Silas has promised to reward those who died for him, which is why Shane decided to teach me Expression. He wanted me to be strong enough to get the cure so he could offer himself to Silas."

"But Katherine screwed his plans by offering Jeremy as a sacrifice. That means, Shane is pissed and he probably wants revenge on Katherine and all of us." Mia looks at Stefan. "The only reason she was there is because she was following us. She wanted to mess up with our plans but instead she killed an innocent person." She stands up. "But why Jeremy? You were there." She points to Bonnie.

"Maybe the blood had to be purely human. Bonnie is a witch, not exactly full human like Jeremy." Caroline guesses.

Elena clenches her tiny fists. "Or she wanted revenge on me. She has always been jealous ever since we met."

Mia touches Elena's arm gently. "Katherine is a psychotic bitch! She doesn't need a reason to do the stuff she does. I mean, why would she keep me alive when she did? There's no reason."

Stefan looks at Mia. "All we need right now is to find her and get the cure. She's not gonna take it because she enjoys her immortality too much."

"I don't care about the cure anymore. Katherine killed my brother and you are all way too calm!" Elena stands up and glares at everyone. "Mia is the only one who is actually trying to avenge Jeremy's death while you only care about that stupid cure. That thing cost me my brother!" She walks away.

Mia looks at Stefan and rolls her eyes. "I should have killed Shane when I had the chance. Never trusted that guy!"

Stefan goes after Elena and Mia leaves the Gilbert house with everybody else. Katherine needs to be found, the cure needs to be kept away from her, the Hunters need to be stopped... It seems like everything is more important than Jeremy's death.
