Mia sits on her front porch and writes on her journal. Caroline opens the door and sits next to her. "What are you doing?" She asks.

Mia closes the journal and looks at the vast garden. "Nothing. I was just putting my thoughts on paper." She smiles. "My friend Nicholas always said that feelings were meant to be written as much as they were meant to be felt." Mia shakes her head. "It doesn't make sense but the guy was a genius."

Caroline furrows her eyebrows and sighs. "Mia, I know you like Klaus and even though he basically forced me to go on a date with him, he seems to care about you in a way he never cared about anyone."

"Klaus is in love with you, Caroline. You make him a better person and, no matter how I feel about him, I can't compete with that." Mia smiles. "I learned to be patient and admit defeat. He likes you and there's nothing I can do about it." She puts her left hand on Caroline's shoulder. "I'm glad he found someone as nice, strong and sweet as you."

"You know I'm not in love with Klaus. The only guy for me is Tyler and my love for him is real." Caroline looks straight to Mia. "You should go to the Miss Mystic Falls Pageant. I've been enjoying hanging out with you and I would like to get to know you better." She smiles. "You're smart, thoughtful and caring like Stefan but you definitely have Damon's spunk and fire. All I want is to be friends with you, Mia."

Mia smiles and stands up. "I would like that, Caroline. You have proven to be a loyal friend and really upfront about your feelings."

Caroline stands up as well and extends her hand to Mia. "Friends?"

Mia hesitates and then takes her hand and shakes it. "Friends!"

Caroline leaves with a smile on her face, while Mia stands there contemplating the new friendship she just made.

Stefan steps out of the Boarding House while Mia and Damon are talking and they turn their attention to Stefan. "Hello brother!" Damon smirks. "Where have you been?" He asks.

"And where are you going?" Mia raises and eyebrow while questioning Stefan.

"I've been around and right I have things to do." Stefan replies with a conspicuous look.

Damon grins and spreads his legs on the couch. "I see shady stefan is back!"

Mia throws a pillow at Damon and turns to Stefan with a worried expression. "Are you still working with Klaus?"

Stefan sighs and his shoulder tense up. "You know, Elena and I broke up."

Mia gives a stern look to Damon but he doesn't react. "Well, I figured out that to get the cure the Hunter's map must be complete by killing enough vampires. We should find another Hunter for that. It would be risky to let Jeremy follow in Connor's footsteps."

"Not to mention dangerous for Jeremy. He doesn't like his new position and I feel like it's making him anxious." Mia adds.

"I was thinking of contacting Professor Shane. He seems to know a lot about the subject and he could help us." Damon continues.

Mia shakes her head. "I thought Matt discovered something fishy about him. Didn't he call Pastor Young several time the day he blew up the Council?"

Damon smirks. "Yeah. Would you like to join me, Stefan?"

"I'm not in the mood." Stefan replies in a monotone.

"Okay. What if we go out for the drinks if you want to spend some quality time with your big brother?" Damon smiles slightly.

Stefan shakes his head and glares at Damon. "Let's not pretend this isn't the best day of your life!" He leaves.

Mia reaches for Damon's arm and holds it. "I know what you were trying to do." She smiles. "That was big of you, Damon."

"I guess..." He looks at his sister. "Wanna go with me to Professor Shane's office?"

"I would love to." Mia smiles brightly and hugs her brother, proud of his attitude toward Stefan.

Mia joins Damon and Professor Shane at the pageant. "These girls are completely insane!" She complains. "I just heard a girl talking about how large her hips are. Since when do teenage girls care so much about their appearance?"

Damon grins and holds out his arm so that Mia can grab it. "You were as annoying as them back in the day." Mia glares at her brother, making him smile. He turns to Professor Shane. "We should discuss business. I need to find another Hunter to relieve Jeremy of his duty."

Professor Shane shakes his head. "I'm afraid I can't help you with that. I don't know any other Hunter."

Mia closes a door and shoves Professor Shane against a wall and grabs him by his throat, choking him. "Why are you here?" Her eyes turn a glowing red and her perfect white fangs are visible, just like the veins around her eyes. "I know about the phone calls."

Damon takes Mia away from Professor Shane, allowing him to take a deep breath. "What are you talking about?" He asks.

"What my sister was trying to ask was why did you call Pastor Young on the day he committed the mass murder?" Damon glares at him.

Professor Shane regains his composure and unlocks the door, leaving Damon and Mia without an answer. "Did he just leave?" Mia asks in shock.

Damon doesn't respond and makes his way out the door with Mia following him. Their plan to get answers and help Jeremy failed miserably, much to Mia's chagrin.
