Outing

Marx told him everything he knew about the Clockwork Stars, aside from leaving a few key things out.

"Do you know any magic?"

That question caught Marx off guard, and he had no idea how to respond.

"What makes you ask that?"

His ears(?) perked up, "Oh! Well, from my homeland, most people know magic. Even if it's the more... tame kind."

"Oh... Well, uh, yes, technically... But uh... well, point is, I've got magic."

"Hm, interesting."

After a few moments of thinking, Marx began to speak his mind, "Hey, look, thanks for uhhhh... helping me not die and all, but I kinda just wanna... go home..."

Magolor nodded in understanding, "Yes, yes, I know. I too would like to go home...."

"Then why don't you?"

Those words alone were what caused him to shut down, "Because I can't."

"Why not?"

Magolor turned away, trying not to cry as the memories flooded in.

"Maggie?"

Quickly slamming a hand over his mouth, he nearly lost his composure, then quickly steeled himself.

"Don't. Call. Me. That."

"I- okay..."

"Sigh, okay, so the initial teleportation did quite a number on the power reserves, and I'm not sure we'd be able to get to wherever it is you're from with what little power we have left. I only managed to grab about a dozen spheres, before I was... chased back to base...."

Marx tilted in confusion, "Chased? But I thought you said this planet was lifeless."

"Mostly lifeless, there are some native creatures, though far spread out. Regardless, it's taking longer than expected for the spheres to recharge, and I suppose it's best to get you home as soon as possible. Therefore, I must go out and collect more of those Energy Spheres. Though, this time, I now have you. So, will you help me go get them?"

Marx looked at him, before giving a determined "Yes."
