The One Who Will Save Them

In the small town of Mt. Pleasant in the state of Pennsylvania, sitting on the windowsill of a large green house, was a beautiful brown tabby she cat, with a small red collar around her neck. She breathed in the evening air that was flowing through the screen window, she loved how fresh it was compared to the stench of the home she lives in. The night looked so beautiful, she wished her owners would allow her to go out.

"Looking for your 'Prince' again, Princess?" Growled another she-cat's voice, wearing a pink collar, Princess turned her head to look at her.

"No, the housefolk are bringing a new kitten home, and I'm waiting for them to return." She meowed before looking back, "If you would pay attention, Peaches, you would know." Peaches rolled her eyes and walked out of the dinning room to the food bowl.  After she ate, she curled up in a ball on the stairs, Princess looked at her and sighed, thinking that she should get some sleep as well. She curled up on the couch and fell into sleep.

A small, wet nose was touching Princess's nose when she awoke, and she jumped, staring down at a small white kitten. The kitten tilted her head and let out a tiny squeak. One of the younger of her housefolk picked up the kitten and began stroking her.

"Princess, this is Toni, she is our new cat." She murmured, at least that's what Princess understood. She put Toni down and the small kitten immediately began exploring the house, Princess behind her, she wanted to make sure Toni doesn't end up tripping on something. Peaches was up already, eyeing Toni like a hawk, Princess couldn't tell if the ginger she-cat liked the new addition or not. Then a large crash interrupted her thoughts.

"Ow!" Squeaked Toni, she was tangled up in computer wires, struggling to get loose. Princess let out a purr of amusement as she went over to help, but one of the older housefolk had gotten the kitten out of the wires. Toni immediately scrambled her way toward Princess and buried her tiny muzzle into Princess's chest. The tabby she-cat stared down at Toni in surprise, until the small kit let out a cute yawn. Princess purred and led Toni to a comfortable place to sleep. As they did so, Peaches looked at Princess, narrowing her eyes.

"I hope you don't become that's kitten's mother, then we'll have one more annoying she-cat in this house." She growled, laying down and curling her tail around her body, sleeping softly. Princess rolled her eyes and nudged Toni to a small spot on the couch to curl up in, while she laid down on the stairs nearby. Toni let out a whine of protest and the tiny kit climbed up the stairs, leap by leap, and curled her small body next to Princess.

"No, Toni, you can't-" She meowed, before Toni gave her 'The Look' and she sighed, smiling, "Alright, you can sleep here." She finished, before curling her fluffy tail around Toni. They both fell asleep almost immediately.

~~~~~~~
Princess opened her eyes, trees filled her vision, purple and white flowers tickled her paws. Moonlight lit up her tabby pelt, and put a glint of silver on her green eyes. She detected the scent of an unfamiliar cat, she looked straight ahead, eyes narrowed.
"Hello? Who's there?" She whispered. As if on cue, a brown tom emerged from the shadows. "Princess, I've called you here to give you a prophecy." He meowed. Princess showed no sign of fear or confusion in her emerald gaze, but she struggled to keep her voice steady.
"What prophecy? Why me?" She demanded. The tom didn't move. "Deep in the cave of the crystal falls, lies a destiny six cats have to fulfil, and only the light of silver can save all of cat kind, where a blazing fire will go out ." He meowed softly, then faded away, leaving Princess standing in the middle of the clearing, bewildered.
~~~~~~~

Princess's eyes opened soon after her dream, Toni was still curled up, sleeping, beside her. Princess sighed as she looked down at her, wondering what the prophecy meant.
