We were watching TV and then suddenly there was no power.

"So, what have you been up to since I last saw you?" I ask, trying to break this awkward silence that has fallen over us.

"I'd love to tell you but as you are a witness and not an agent, it's classified information." Gemma replied. I checked my watch, 10.30 pm. Should they be back by now? I thought. Should we be hearing a motorbike pulling up outside?

I walked into the gloom of the kitchen and started rummaging through the drawers.

"Rose what are you doing?" Gemma asked.

"Looking for a torch." I said.

"I've got one."

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"I just did didn't I?"

'Okay. I'm going to bed."

"Don't trip up the stairs.'

"I'll try not to." I took the stairs two at a time. When I reached the top I walk two steps then, THUD, I fell over. I picked up the item I had just tripped over. It was a shirt, the one Meg was wearing before they went out.

 Eww, excuse me while I go vomit.

It was really hard to find the right room in the dark. I would have normally went right ahead and checked every room but I was kinda scared to look inside each room because of what I might find inside. After what felt like hours, I had finally found my room. I got changed and just flopped on the bed.

There she was, Megan, laying in a puddle of blood, her eyes open and blood pouring from a gunshot wound in her chest.

I woke up with a jolt. I could hear Gemma downstairs talking to someone. Great, Meg was home.

"Thankyou Gemma I don't know what I would do without you." Meg said in her giggly/ around-her-boyfriend voice.

"It's okay" Gemma replied. "I'll be off then, oh make sure you look after the kid. She's been through a lot today."

"I'll give her the sympathy she deserves."

"I'll see you at work, hopefully."
