14 - Becky
Meg's POV
“Gemma?” I call after knocking on the door, again. Finally I heard the noise of the door unbolting. Suddenly Gemma’s brother, Lucas, standing in the doorway. He looked kinda cute. The way his hair was all messed up and his eyes filled with sleep. “Lucas? What are you doin- never mind. Where’s Gemma?”
“She’s not exactly here at the moment…” He replied in a cute, shy, geeky sort of way. Not my type, besides he’s way too young being only a year or so older than Rose. Hmmm maybe I could set something up… not the time, she might be dead for all we know.
“You’ll have to do. We need to find this girl called Rose.”
“Um why?”
“Because your sister is supposed to help me and you’re an FBI trainee so you can help, sort of. Just get in the car.” I was striding over to the car and suddenly felt the urge to throw up. Great ‘morning’ sickness.
“You don’t look good? Why don’t you call Alex to take you home and him and I can take it from there.”
“It’s just a bit of morning sickness. Besides Alex is the one who got us into this mess.”
“Oh okay – wait morning sickness? Like pregnancy morning sickness. Congratulations. Btw it’s night…”
“Yeah, yeah I’m pregnant. Now let’s go find Rose before she gets murdered.” I said while getting in the car and starting the ignition. Lucas hopped into the front passenger side.
“What? Murdered?”

Alex’s POV
“Okay Alex, I’m going to go through this again, only because I want to see that pretty face still intact a little longer.” Great, my girlfriend is pregnant with my child and now some crazy ass bitch named Becky is threatening to kill me.
“You are my hostage until further notice. You don’t speak or I shoot you. You don’t try run away or I’ll shoot you and your little girlfriend, what’s her name? Meg, that’s it. And you don’t try anything funny with me or I kick you in the balls. Got it?” I nodded. I knew exactly what was going on, Rose has been captured by Becky, and I’m the leverage to make her talk.
But Rose would rather save herself than me.
Oh god, if Rose has to make the decision I am screwed.
No, she wouldn’t would she? I mean she knows Meg loves me right? Meg shouldn’t have to raise our kid on her own right? She just shouldn’t.
I looked up to the ceiling, not caring if Becky noticed and silently prayed,
If there’s a God up there,
I don’t exactly believe in you but they say you help anyone, no matter their religion so here I go. Please save me from whatever cruel fate they have planned for me. I know I deserve it but Meg can’t raise that baby on her own. There is no way in fucking hell that’s going to happen. No way. So please for the sake of Meg Katherine Forrester and my unborn child, save me.
It was then I felt the cold irony touch of a gun barrel against my right temple.
“Alex. Dear, dear Alex.” Becky’s deluded voice said with pleasure. “You had better pray to god that Rosie decides to keep you alive or you and this gun are going to have a little discussion. A loud discussion.”
With that she left the room and locked the door.

Meg’s POV
“Why on earth would your sister be at a party? She’s part of the FBI?” I yelled at Lucas, who was cowering in the passenger seat in my car. For good reason too, I had been taking all of my anger out on Lucas and yelling the whole 20 minutes we had been driving.
“And Alex, darling Alex, none of this wouldn’t have happened if he had just kept on driving like we had planned. But no, he’s too good for that. The second someone pisses him off they must get out of the car and be left on the street to fend for themselves.”
“What did Rose, that’s her name isn’t it, say to Alex that was so bad?” Lucas replied, suddenly having a burst of confidence.
“She called him a player and said that she was surprised he had stayed loyal to me.”
“Um Meg?”
“Oh I’m sorry Lucas, you don’t have to get involved in this. I’ll drive you home now.”
“No it’s not that, I want to help. It’s just, well I thought you should know that, well um, Alex hasn’t been all that loyal to you.” I slowed the car down so we were at a stop on a residential street.
“What?” I said, in a voice so quiet it was hardly a whisper.
“Alex cheated on you. With a girl from forensics.” I turned to Lucas, streams of tears becoming rivers and then raging torrents, pouring down my cheeks.
“Why? He is everything to me. How could he do this to me? After everything, and what about the baby, he was just going to continue on with life, hoping that I would never find out the truth about him? No. He will never see our – my child. Ever.” I said, completely breaking down while Lucas pulled me into a hug. Not a romantic one, but a friendly, comforting hug.
