4. Assasins Called "Alarm Clocks"
Alice's POV
I woke up to the loud, annoying ringing of he alarm clock, and instantly covered my ears with my pillow. Unfortunately, I had a habit of throwing alarm clocks across the room in the morning. I mean, what do you expect? They're the spawn of satan!
Quickly finding the little switch thingy and turning the alarm clock off, I got out of bed, almost tripping over my slippers. My eyes were half closed and I wanted nothing more than to jump into the warm covers. But unfortunately, I couldn't do that. It was the first day of school, and I was officially a senior.
After I hurriedly used the bathroom, I put on my clothes, deciding to wear a tank-top and some shorts. It was hot as hell outside, and wearing anything more covering would definitely be suicide.
I rushed downstairs, greeting my mom and dad as I saw them at the breakfast bar. Both of them were immersed in their bowls of lucky charms, and barely paid attention to my greeting. Of course, I couldn't expect anything else. Lucky charms were the reason why they got together in the first place.
My mom had always been obsessed with lucky charms, and in her senior year, she spilled a bowl that she was carrying to class all over dad. Yes, she carried lucky charms to class. Ever since, they had a love-hate relationship, and eventually got together. Their relationship was still strong, and as gross as it was to see the two exchange kisses every so often, I admired the two.
"Honey, don't forget to grab something to eat at school. Don't stay hungry, okay?", mom said, barely being able to put her spoon down.
I nodded at her with a smile. I would usually go to the beach right after school, and surfing wasn't as fun if you were full. So, I didn't eat much at school. But mom had always forced me to eat, and transferred her food addiction over to Noah and I.
Quickly finishing the granola bar that I was munching on, I shouted out a goodbye to mom and dad, rushing to get to school on time. My school was pretty close to my house, and I would usually walk there.
I enjoyed the walk, breathing in the fresh air and feeling the sun hit my face. The feeling was very enjoyable, and the smell of the fresh, morning dew was still lingering in the air.
Looking around at the greenery was one of my favorite things to do. Each and every little shade of green and the beautiful colors of the flowers left me in awe. It was true that a man could never make anything more beautiful than the things that nature had already given us.
I was soon right at the entrance of my school. After taking a deep breath, preparing myself to go through the entire process yet again, I went inside. I pushed the doors open and stepped into the school.
The chaos that I usually saw erupting around me just a few months ago was all there. People socializing with each other, a disgusting couple making out against the lockers, the few bullies bullying the apparently "weak" people and the sight of Reyna waiting for me by my locker. It was all there.
I could see the jocks staring at my body, and I quickly looked away in disgust. Could people not keep it in their pants for one second?
I walked towards Reyna, trying to get as far away from the doofuses as possible. As soon as I reached the locker, Reyna flung herself at me, hugging me tightly. I quickly hugged her back, slightly confused. As she pulled back, I could see the excitement in her eyes. Okay, something was definitely up.
"You missed something huge! Yesterday, Alex came over, and he asked me out on a date!", she squealed, making my eyes widen.
He what?! Oh my god! The dude had finally grown some balls!
"That's awesome! I'm so happy for you!", I beamed, smiling at her brightly.
I instantly prepared myself to give him the "hurt her and you're dead" talk, but when I turned around, I realized he wasn't there.
"Uh... Reyna? Where's Alex?", I asked, feeling extremely curious.
She stopped jumping for just one second, saying, "Oh yeah! He said that he was bringing a friend of his here. The guy's new to the school, so we should ask him to sit with us."
I nodded at her, quickly setting up my locker. The damn thing had an annoying, hard to open lock again! Ugh, why was I always stuck with the worst lockers?
Being a person who was just as organized as a jocks sock drawer, nothing was really "set-up". I just stuffed everything inside the place that would annoy me for the next year.
As I finally shut the locker door, I heard Reyna release a loud gasp. I looked towards her, seeing her mouth drop open and her eyes widen.
"What happened?", I asked, quickly looking around.
I found nothing out of the ordinary, but Reyna grabbed my arm and turned me around so that I was facing the door. I looked up, and saw something that shocked me to the core.
My heart was thundering inside my chest, and I felt like I would collapse at any second. My jaw was probably on the floor, and shock coursed through my body.
Alex was walking inside the building through the door, and all the girls were drooling after him, as usual. But that wasn't what surprised me. What surprised me was the guy walking right next to him.
His muscular body was covered with a black t-shirt, and a pair of white jeans. The girls were buzzing twice more than usual, clearly feeling flustered at the sight of the Greek god that had just entered the building.
But it wasn't the hotness that got to me. No, not at all. It was the eyes. The cold, light blue, electrifying eyes that I had always wished to have instead of my own boring, bluebell ones.
Luke's eyes.
Cliffhangers galore! I'm at it again, besties! XD Anyway, hope you enjoyed the chapter! Make sure to comment, vote and share! Remember that I love you guys more than I love Nutella! Uh... maybe. Uhm, anyway! XD Peace out!
