~A/N~ My sisters wedding is coming up and I'm a bridesmaid so the next few days are going to be long/busy (Tomorrow we're packing/doing a few last minute things, Thursday we're driving to Upstate NY, Friday is the rehearsal dinner, Saturday is the wedding and Sunday we're driving home) so here is the forth chapter since I will be too busy to post it on Friday~
The two girls looked at each other with wide eyes.
"Am I tripping?" Andi asked. "I think I'm tripping…"
Melissa shook her head. "Not unless we're both tripping together…"
Andi helped her up, still freaked out. "Um, I'm Andi…"
"I'm Melissa…" Melissa said, brushing the dirt off of her skirt. "I uh… We- This is weird…"
Andi nodded. "Very…" Andi glanced over her shoulder towards the food court, just now remembering about Peter. "I uh, I have to meet my friend at the food court…" She reached into her bag and pulled out her notebook. She scribbled something down and handed the paper to Melissa. "Here's my address, nobody will be home later so come over and we can talk… If you want that is…"
Smiling, Melissa shoved the paper into her bag and nodded. "I will. What time is good for you?"
"Any time after seven is good"
Melissa nodded and the two went their separate ways. Andi didn't say anything to Peter about what happened, she didn't know what was going on and she didn't want to tell him without having all the facts, especially since she knew Peter would think that Melissa might be dangerous.
Both girls were anxious as the day went on, Melissa wasn't able to focus on the tours and Andi wasn't interested in Halloween planning anymore.
By the time seven came around, Melissa practically flew out of her hotel room. She paced up and down the sidewalk while she waited for her Uber.
When Melissa told the Uber driver the address, after having already memorized it, the driver gave her a confused look.
"You mean Stark Mansion?"
"Uh… Yeah I guess…" Melissa answered hesitantly.
Still confused, the Uber driver nodded and pulled out of the hotel parking lot.
As they pulled up to the Mansion, Melissa's eyes widened. She quickly paid the driver and ran up to the door.
Hoping that she gave the right address, Melissa rang the bell. The door opened by itself, causing Melissa to take a step backwards in shock.
"Please come in, Andi will be down in a second" A voice said from somewhere inside.
Melissa took a deep breath as she walked in. She looked around the room in awe. "This room is bigger than my whole house…"
"Yeah it's big…" Andi said as she ran down the stairs. "Do you want a soda or something?"
"Sure…" Melissa smiled. Andi led her into the kitchen and took two Dr. Pepper's out of the fridge. "Is anyone else here? The door-"
"Oh that was just Jarvis" Andi said, waving her hand dismissively. "He's my dad's AI, he runs the house. He was also the voice that you heard"
Melissa nodded slowly, taking the soda Andi handed her. "Oh…"
Andi took her upstairs and the two of them sat on the bed. "So… What brings you to New York City?"
"School field trip. My class and I have been touring many different places, Museums, Stark Industries-"
"You went to Stark Industries?" Andi asked, cutting her off.
Melissa nodded. "Yeah. We got to see one one the labs and most of my class even got to meet Tony Stark"
Andi's eyes widened. "Did my dad see you?"
"No…" Melissa shook her head. "He was busy talking to my other classmates. So you're Tony Stark's daughter?"
"Unfortunately" Andi rolled her eyes. "Where are you originally from?"
"Malibu." Melissa took a sip of her soda. "What about your mom?"
Andi looked down, running her finger along the rim of the soda can. "She's not in the picture… My dad won't tell me anything about her…"
"I'm sorry… My mom won't tell me about my father either…"
Looking up at Melissa, Andi raised an eyebrow. "So you only have a mom… I only have a dad… And we have the same exact face… Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"
"We're twins…?"
Andi nodded. "It's the only logical explanation…" Just then Andi remembered something, she ran downstairs to her dad's office with Melissa following behind. "My dad has this picture of him and my mom that he hid from me in a secret compartment in his desk" Andi said, opening the bottom right drawer of the desk. "My whole life I've always tried to get into it but I was never able to. Jarvis, can this please be the day that you open it for me?"
Closing her eyes, Andi hoped Jarvis would listen to her, just this once.
"Very well"
The compartment opened and inside was a picture laying face down, and a few other random items. Andi picked up the picture and Melissa came over to stand next to her.
Taking a deep breath, Andi flipped over the picture.
Melissa gasped and covered her mouth. "That's my mom…"
"That picture was taken by Colonel Rhodes on the day your father fell in love with your mother…" Jarvis said.
"So it's true…? Melissa and I are twins?" Andi asked, not looking away from the picture.
"Mr. Stark has made it impossible for me to tell you anything about Miss Melissa."
Taking that as a yes, Andi took the picture and they went upstairs. The two of them just sat on Andi's bed, taking time to process everything.
"I uh… I should get going…" Melissa said, checking the time on her phone after a while. "It's almost 8:30 and I'm going to get in trouble if I'm not back by-"
"Andi!" Tony called up the stairs. "Can you come down here?"
Both girls felt their hearts stop. They looked at each other with wide eyes, trying to figure out what to do.
"One second dad!" Andi ran over to her window and opened it. "I don't think we should tell him yet…"
"Agreed" Melissa said, running over. They quickly exchanged numbers and then Melissa climbed out the window and down the tree.
Once Melissa had run down the driveway, Andi went downstairs. "What's up dad?"
Tony was sitting on the arm of one of the chairs, arms crossed. "Did you go through my desk?"
"Um, n-no…?"
"Andrea…"
Sighing, Andi nodded. "I just wanted to see what she looked like… You always tell me that I look like her but I don't even know if that's true or not…" A few tears ran down her face as she realized that she had finally seen her mother for the first time. Back when they were looking at the picture, Andi had been more focused on finding out if she and Melissa were actually twins, she hadn't realized that she was looking at a picture of her mother.
Tony uncrossed his arms and nodded. "I know… And I'm sorry that I haven't told you about her… It's just… It's hard for me…"
"So… I can keep the picture?" Andi asked hopefully.
"Only if you wash the dishes tonight. Harley is staying at a friend's and Peter is at May's so it's just us tonight"
Andi smiled. "Deal"

After dinner, Andi took a shower, still trying to wrap her head around everything. When she got out she saw that she had a text from Melissa.
🌻: Is everything okay? Your dad sounded mad
Andi and Melissa had put their contact names as emojis so that if either of their parents saw a text from them, they wouldn't know who it was. Melissa chose a sunflower and Andi chose a skull.
Andi quickly sent a text back. 'Yeah everything's fine. He somehow knew that I had gone into his desk and was mad until I told him that I had just wanted to see a picture of mom.'
After throwing on some PJs, Andi laid down and bed and thought about what had happened today.
She wasn't an only child… She was a twin…
Suddenly, Andi shot up in bed and grabbed her phone. She pulled up her text convo with Melissa and sent her a text.
'I have an idea. Meet me at Sunrise Diner tomorrow at noon'
