~A/N~ There's only ONE chapter left, how is that even possible lol. I'm gonna miss this story

I kinda want to write some bonus chapters, like little things that happened during the story that don't really matter to the story but are fun to read, though I don't even know what the bonus chapters would be about, what do you think?

Should I do an epilogue?

Also i really hope the last chapter isn't anticlimactic and that everyone likes it.~

Two and a half weeks had passed since Andi and Melissa had finally gotten their parents in the same state for the first time in over sixteen years.

Unfortunately, their parents still weren't together. Fortunately, they had stuck to their agreement and Andi and Melissa were currently both in Malibu for Thanksgiving.

Their parents had made them agree to stop trying to get them back together, otherwise they were going to go back to the original custody agreement. The twins had begrudgingly agreed, knowing that it was for the best.

Andi was laying on Melissa's bed, watching as her sister went through her closet, looking for something to wear. "It's just Thanksgiving Liss, it's not like we're meeting the Queen of England"

Melissa rolled her eyes. "I know that, but I still want to look cute"

Andi never really saw the point of Thanksgiving. They celebrated it with Peter, May, and the Avengers all the time, but Andi only did it for the food.

"By the way, how are things with you and Peter?" Melissa asked, smirking at her sister through the mirror.

Andi and Peter had started officially dating a few days after returning home from California, and Melissa had been so excited when she found out. "It's good… This is our first Thanksgiving apart, but he understands that I want to spend it with Mom"

"You probably could have brought him"

Andi nodded. "I know, but I wanted it to be a family thing." She sighed heavily. "Despite the fact that he will be here…"

Their mother's fiancè John was joining them for Thanksgiving and neither of them were happy about it, especially Andi. It would be the first time that Melissa met him and the first time that he'd meet both of Pepper's twins. Pepper had told him about the switch and the fact that the twin he met was actually Andi and not Melissa, and John had found it funny.

"He technically is family though…"

Andi shook her head. "Not until he marries Mom, and even then I still won't consider him family…"

Melissa sighed and dropped the topic, not wanting to argue. She finally found a cute enough outfit and got dressed.

Andi was wearing a pair of jean shorts, a black tank top and boots while Melissa was wearing a white skirt and blue top, complete with white flats and matching jewelry.

"Girls! Can you come down here!" Their mother called up the stairs.

The two of them went downstairs and into the kitchen where Pepper was cooking dinner. "Can you guys help me with a few things?" Their mother asked.

"I thought you didn't want us to help" Andi said, referring to not even twenty minutes earlier when Pepper had kicked them out of the kitchen and asked them not to help.

"I changed my mind," Pepper said, handing Andi a bowl. "Can you make the stuffing?"

Andi nodded and got to work, the stuffing was usually what she ended up making back home.

They played music and danced around as they cooked and Andi wondered if this is what Thanksgiving would have been like had her parents stayed together…

Andi pushed those thoughts out of her head, she wasn't going to think about that anymore… It was over, her mother was going through with her wedding to John, there was nothing more they could do…

"You three look like you're having fun…"

Andi turned towards the door where John was standing. She rolled her eyes and went back to finishing the stuffing.

"Hey" Pepper smiled, going over and kissing his cheek. "I wasn't expecting you till later"

"I thought I'd come early and see if I could help" He looked between the two girls. "Wow, you two really are identical…"

"Well we are identical twins…" Andi muttered, rolling her eyes again.

Melissa smacked her in the shoulder. "Be nice," She whispered.

They went back to making dinner and Andi practically ignored John the entire time. When he'd ask her something, she'd reply in short and rude answers, which is what she did when she first met him.

Pepper wanted both her daughters to like him, but she knew she couldn't force it.

When they finally sat down to eat, Andi was a bit nicer to John, mainly due to the fact that anytime she was rude to him, Melissa would kick her under the table.

"So Andrea-"

"Andi," She corrected.

John nodded. "Andi, what do you like to do back in New York?"

Andi shrugged. "I dunno, hang out with my friends, my boyfriend…" She was never going to get used to calling Peter that. "Piss off my father… Ya know, the usual…"

"Do you prefer living in California or New York?" He asked both girls.

They both shrugged. "I don't know, it's kinda hard to choose because one place we grew up in and the other we haven't really spent much time in," Melissa said.

Andi nodded in agreement, stuffing her face with more food.

After dinner, Pepper decided that they all would play some games. Andi won at most of them, especially kicking everyone's ass in multiple games of Clue.

Andi had tried to be nice and get along with John, after her mother and sister told her to, but she just couldn't. She blamed him for her parents not getting back together even though she knew it wasn't his fault. John just loved her mother, he didn't know all of the drama and everything that he'd be getting into when getting into a relationship with her and and after he found out, he still decided to stay.

The girls had hoped that after watching the tape, their mother might feel differently about their father, but they didn't even know if their mother had even watched it and they couldn't find the type anywhere. Their mother didn't act like she had seen it, but there was something about her now that seemed like just maybe she did…

Finally, after what felt like forever, it was time for John to go home. Andi was relieved, but she knew her mother would be upset with her about the way she acted.

Once the door was shut behind John, Pepper walked into the living room and crossed her arms. "I know you don't like him Andi, but you at least could have been nice"

"I'm sorry, I tried but I just couldn't…"

Pepper sighed. "I know you guys want your father and I back together but that isn't going to happen. You need to stop with this whole thing… Liss, how do you like John?"

Melissa looked down at her hands. "He's nice…"

"Melissa…"

Melissa sighed. "He's alright, I just… I don't know… He's not one of my favorite people… And it has nothing to do with Dad or anything like that…"

Pepper nodded. "I can't force you guys to like him, but you're going to have to deal with him since we're getting married"

When she said the word married, there was a look in her eyes like it pained her to say, like she didn't want to marry him…

The girls helped their mother clean up everything from dinner and then afterwards they went up to bed.

"Are we really going to stop with everything?" Andi asked, sitting on Melissa's bed.

Melissa nodded. "Yes, we are. We tried getting them back together and it didn't work. If we keep trying it'll make everything worse for us. We need to accept the fact that they're not getting back together… Mom loves John…"

"Does she though? You can tell me that you don't see how it's like she's forcing herself to go through with this marriage"

Melissa sighed. "I do kind of see what you mean, but it also seems like she's just trying to get through everything that happened and everything that she found out, not that she's trying to force herself into marriage…"

Nodding, Andi sighed and laid back onto Melissa's bed. "I don't want her to marry him…"

"I know…"

"I want Mom and Dad back together…"

"I know…"

"Why do our lives have to be like this…?"

Melissa didn't have an answer. Neither of them did. It was a shitty situation, but they had to make the best of it…

After the girls had gone upstairs, Pepper sat down at the kitchen island and poured herself a glass of wine. The tape kept playing through her mind ever since she saw it, she didn't know what to think of it.

Tony hadn't intentionally cheated on her… It wasn't his fault, and yet she had blamed him for over a decade… She couldn't take it out on him when he was barely even coherent when it happened… He was assaulted…

Pepper felt bad for blaming him all these years, but she couldn't have known… Maybe she should have gone and talked to Christine or her assistant when it had happened, instead of just automatically blowing up on him…

She did still love Tony, she never stopped loving him, and she would always have a special place for him in her heart, he was the father of her children… And even though she now knew that he didn't intentionally cheat on her, she still felt hurt… She didn't want to be hurt anymore, but it wasn't going to go away just because some new information came to light, she had been heartbroken for over sixteen years, that wasn't going away overnight.

Something Andi asked her a while ago popped into her head…

'Do you think you and Dad would ever get back together?'

Pepper still loved Tony, but she didn't know if she'd want to get back together with him… Plus she was with John now and she loved him, but she and Tony had something special… She loved John, but not like she had loved Tony…

They were Pepperony, as Clint had dubbed them, and they had a special kind of love…

But Pepper was engaged now… And she was going to marry John… No matter what…
