Chapter 11/ The Future
~Flashback~
It was mid July when in Underswap, everyone was freed by a young child named Chara Dreemurr. Blue and Fell were married happily as they had a child named Lavender.
Blue was still in the Star Sanses though, not quitting the team. Ink was a bit more mature and Dream was happily living with Cross.
"And that's how I met your father" Blue said, smiling at his 8 year old daughter, Lavender. He got up as he turned the lights off in her bedroom. "Alright, time for bed Lavey"
"But dad! I don't wanna go to bed!" Lavender whined, sitting up on her bed, refusing to sleep. Blue sits next to her, sighing. "My dreams are weird!" she said.
"Hehe, all dreams are weird." Blue replied, sitting next to her, grabbing the brown, fluffy teddy bear that she loved. US Papyrus had bought it for her when she was born and she kept it ever since, even when other kids told her that she was too old for toys.
"Dad!" she said, having Blue's full attention. "My dreams are WEEEEIIIIRRRDDDD!"
"Honey." Blue said in a gentle tone, holding her close as he gave her the teddy bear. Lavender held it close as she nuzzled it. "Something weird could just be something familiar viewed from another angle, and that's not scary, right?"
Lavender still looked scared, still not sleeping.
"Hey, how about a song?" Blue asked Lavender, oh how she loved how he sang her songs. She nodded, holding the teddy bear a bit tighter.
"Let's go in the garden, you'll find something waiting~🎶"
"Right there where you left it, lying upside down~🎶"
Lavender's eye sockets began to droop, falling asleep on his lap. Blue smiled as he kept singing, kissing her foreskull.
"When you finally find it, you'll see how it's faded, the underside is lighter when you turn it around~🎶"
"Everything stays, right where you left it, everything stays but it still changes~🎶"
"Ever so slightly, daily and nightly, in little ways, when everything stays~🎶"
Blue gently put her on her bed, tucking her in. He got up and went to the door, he turned around and smiled.
"Goodnight my little sunshine" he quietly said before leaving the room, closing the door behind him.
~End of Flashback~
Lavender was at least 15 by now as she placed a blue-colored rose on a tombstone, smiling. Fell watched as he tried not to tear up again.
"You and dad were the best parents I could ever ask for" Lavender said, hugging Fell. "I want to thank you two for that!" she placed down the teddy bear next to the rose.
"I bet he's really proud of you, bucko" Fell said, smiling.
"You really think so?" Lavender said as the two headed towards the house.
"I know so.." Fell replied. "He always was proud of everything you've accomplished."
"I wish he was there, though." Lavender said.
"I don't think he ever did leave us, not by heart I guess."
"You mean like he was with us in spirit? Like we can't see him but he can see us?"
"Yeah, like that."
"Heh, that sounds a bit weird, but at the same time, that could be true."
"Yeah..."
"I love you dad"
"Love you too, Lavender."
Lavender looked back at the tombstone, it was far away but can still be visible. She smiled slightly.
"Thank you for being our hero, dad"
*THE END*
