"Yoongi." Someone pushed my shoulder and I groaned and ignored them. "Yoongi!"
"What?" I groaned out as I peeled my face off the keyboard I had fallen asleep on.
"Do you have any idea what time it is?" Seokjin paced the room like a worried mom and I rubbed my face to try and wake up.
"What's the big deal I fall asleep at the studio all the time?"
Seokjin stopped pacing and glared at me. "The big deal is Minji ended up sleeping on the floor until I finally got here and found her! What were you thinking? Just because you don't know when to stop doesn't mean you can expect Minji to be the same way!"
"Wait? Where's Minji?" I looked around the room and saw that the blanket I had put over her had been folded and placed on the desk.
Seokjin threw his arms up in the air in frustration. "I woke her up first and she went to go try and find some food before she came back here to work on the song. I swear that girl still can't see how crazy you are."
"Hyung! You know you love me because I'm crazy." I flashed a smile at him and he just rolled his eyes.
"Whatever, but I swear if you keep that girl here all night again I'll beat you up for her."
I held my hands up in surrender. "Sorry hyung. I promise I'll even personally walk her home."
"You better." Seokjin headed towards the door but right before he walked out he looked back at me. "And I expect to see you at the dorm tonight too."
Seokjin opened the door and stormed out and I just shook my head and turned to my computer. Luckily nothing had been deleted even though I had fallen asleep on my keyboard. I saved the file one more time and emailed it to myself as well as put it on a flash drive. You can never be too careful.
I closed the program down and put the computer to sleep. Letting out a deep sigh I leaned back in my chair to wait on Minji to return. Just like always I was waiting.
Opening one eye I looked over at the keyboard sitting on the desk. I rolled my chair up to it and stared at the row of black and white keys. To a normal person each key would look exactly the same. Plain, with no excitement or life, but to me each key seemed to have something special about it.
Gently, I laid my fingers against the keys and waited for them to tell me what they wanted me to hear. In the back of my mind I started to hear a faint sound and allowed my fingers to move across the keyboard. At first it was an almost cautious sound like the sound was afraid of something. Seeming to want to sneak past everyone and not allow them to hear it's song. However, after a few notes the sound seemed to come alive. Beautiful noise flowed around the room filling it with life and color. I smiled at the beautiful sound and continued playing joyfully.
Then, something changed. The notes seemed to slowly die off as if something had gone wrong. The sound seemed to become afraid and cautious again. As if the joy had only lasted for a moment as a false hope. Still the sounds did not seem to be as afraid. They seemed to exude confidence and when I played the last note it seemed to hold just a small tiny hint of hope. Enough hope that maybe one day they would be as joyful as they used to be.
After the last note I let my hands fall from the keyboard and stared at the keys again. They still seemed to have so many stories to tell.
"Yoongi." Minji's voice came from behind me and I turned to see silent tears streaming down her face.
I smiled awkwardly and got up to embrace her. "You know, you really need to stop crying every time you see me. You're going to make people think I'm a bad person."
"That song, it was so beautiful." Minji pulled away from my embrace and wiped her eyes on her sleeve. "What is it for?"
I looked at her tear soaked face and her jogging pants and sweater and smiled at her. "I'm not sure yet."
I held out a box of tissues that had been on my desk for Minji. She silently took one and wiped her eyes, which had grown puffy and red. Is it bad that I think she looked cute?
"Anyway, I brought snacks for us to eat but I left them in the practice room."
I followed Minji out to the practice room only to find that the snacks had already been discovered by my members. "I swear food can't be left unguarded around you guys for five seconds!"
Everyone looked up at me and Minji with their mouths still stuffed full of snacks.
"It's fine I bought enough for everyone." Minji looked at the members that were looking away in embarrassment. "Please enjoy."
I rolled my eyes and grabbed the remaining snacks and sat on the practice room floor with everyone else. Minji quickly sat beside me and the members awkwardly tried to look everywhere but directly at her.
"Minji, is that your guitar in the corner over there?" Seokjin suddenly asked.
Minji nodded her head and smiled. "Yeah, I brought it from home because I can never think without it."
"Will you play something for us?" I looked over at Seokjin and raised my eyebrows but he just shrugged his shoulders.
Minji looked around at everyone nervously but still got up and grabbed her guitar. "Don't expect anything amazing."
She sat down and placed the guitar gently in her lap. After a few seconds she started to strum her guitar. Sensing that something amazing was about to happen I pulled out my phone and set it to record.
The song that Minji played was a beautiful flowing song full of love. A love so pure that it almost hurt to listen to the song. We all say awestruck as she continued to play. She hummed along to a melody she had made and I recognized it as the one she had hummed in the elevator. With the guitar and the melody the song had a very beautiful sound but it quickly changed.
The love that had flown from the song started to waver and fade but even when the love seemed to be at its weakest it was still incredibly pure. It was like hearing what it's like to loose someone you truly love. At the last strum of her guitar we all sad in silence and tried to process the song. Then, like a ton of bricks, an idea came to me and I quickly grabbed my phone and headed towards the studio.
"Minji let's go, we have a song to write." Minji ran into the studio after me and I closed the door.
I quickly pulled up what we had been working on and set up the recording mic for Minji.
"Okay will you play the verse of that song again?" Minji grabbed the headphones and started to play the verse of her song.
As soon as she was done I started organizing the different parts of the song in a way I liked . "Now can you pick the melody out on your guitar?"
With no hesitation Minji picked out the melody and I combined it with the piano melody to create the intro. Slowly but surely the song was starting to gain form. Minji looked over my shoulder at the screen and frowned slightly.
"Is something wrong?" I asked as I continued working.
Minji hesitated for a second before replying. "But doesn't it seem like this song has no ending?"
I turned around to look at her in confusion. "What do you mean?"
"Well the whole song is full of love until it goes bad but then there's no end. Like the love turns bad but the love is still there so it's like the song is unfinished because the situation is unresolved."
I looked up at Minji's face for a second before speaking? "Then what do you think the ending should be?"
Minji leaned in closer to me and paused for a second. "How about we end it like this."
Minji leaned in and kissed me deeply. I leaned in and used my hand to pull her closer to me. All our years of separation made the kiss passionate and fiery, like it could be our last kiss. Unwilling to break the kiss, but running out of breath I separated our lips long enough to faintly whisper, "I think that's a perfect ending." I quickly leaned back in to continue to kiss her.
Not able to stand the separation any longer, Minji turned my chair around and sat on my lap. Everything in me felt like it was on fire and I knew that this was the person I had loved for years. Even though she had broken my heart I still loved her.
Minji's hands started to make their way down my chest towards the bottom of my shirt and I let out a moan full of desire. She started to lift my shirt up just as the door to the studio opened and I heard a scream.
Quickly Minji stood up and I pushed my shirt back down terrified of seeing who was at the door. I focused on the frozen figure at the door and realized it was Namjoon and let out a sigh of relief.
"It's about damn time." Namjoon said before smiling at me and Minji.
I picked up the pillow on the floor next to me and threw it at Namjoon's face. He dodged and ran out of the studio laughing. I think I faintly heard him calling for Seokjin but I was to focused on Minji who was trying to stifle her laughter.
I smiled at her before getting up and walking over to engulf her in a hug. Leaning into her ear I whispered faintly, "I love you Minji. Please never leave me again."
Minji hugged me tightly and whispered against my chest, "Only if you promise never to leave me."
"I promise I'll be beside you as long as you allow it."
"And I promise I'll let you stay by my side as long as you want me there."
I pulled gently away from the hug and kissed Minji one last time before grabbing her hand and pulling her towards the practice room where the members would surely be waiting on us to leave the studio.
