Ch.15 Waves stopped
~Y/n pov~
The Queen had called a meeting so we stood outside waiting.
"Thank you for answering my sudden call, Heroes." The Queen smiled at us and welcomed us into the room.
We walked into the room and saw that six chairs were neatly arranged.
I sat in the chair beside Itsuki and waited for her to start talking.
"I had you come here to discuss an important matter."
"The bar monsters?" Ren asked.
"You found them too?" The annoying blonde added, "They didn't seem to be dimensional monsters for a wave either."
"The wave countdown stopped too." I stated as I glanced at it.
Yesterday, the countdown just completely stopped.
"So it's true, then." The Queen sighed, "The legendary monster called the Spirit Tortoise has revived within the kingdom that bears its name, the Spirit Tortoise Kingdom."
"Spirit Tortoise?" Naofumi asked.
The Queen nodded, "It's said to bring horrific disaster to the world once every few centuries. We believe that the monsters you heroes encountered are an effect of its revival."
"Sorry. Remembered something I have to do." Ren stood up.
"Me too." The irritating blonde also got up.
I turned to look at Itsuki and glared at him before he could even think about getting up. (That's right bitch.)
"We were summoned to another world to fight the waves. We don't have time to deal with any other problems you might have." The brain dead blonde stated before leaving the room.
We don't need some weak ass annoying bitch like you anyway.
Naofumi also remained seated as Ren and the blonde idiot left.
"So about this Tortoise thing?" I turned back to face the Queen.
She smiled, "Will you accept this job?"
"Of course we will." I answered, shooting a glance at Itsuki and Naofumi.
"The Spirit Tortoise Kingdom is a big place, but the Tortoise has already destroyed several territories and important checkpoints as if heads for the capital. Many have died. It's located far to the east, but it won't be long before it reaches us." The Queen explained.
The meeting was then concluded.
"Y/n." The Queen called just as I was about to leave, "A word."
I sat back down.
"It's just I thought it was odd there were five cardinal heroes when there are only supposed to be four so I looked into it." She pulled a book out and showed me a page about other types of heroes, "I believe you are a vassal hero. Though if that's the case I'm not sure why you were also summoned."
"Regardless, I've been summoned so I'll help." I smiled, "Thanks for looking into it without me asking."
She smiled and nodded before dismissing me.
I stood up and walked towards the door.
Our party and the shield hero's party were waiting for us.
I noticed Itsuki talking to Rishia.
Just what is he saying?
All I know about the situation is that Rishia admires the bow hero and wanted to join our party.
I wasn't there when it happened so I can only go off what our party told me.
Itsuki had rejected her without asking me first.
I would've let her join and helped her improve.
I walked over and smacked Itsuki over the head, "What are you doing?"
Ralphtalia looked at me in surprise and then smiled.
I turned to Rishia and smiled, "How are you doing?"
She looked surprised that I talked to her.
"I'm good, thank you." She bowed.
"Sorry if this idiot was bothering you." I apologised, "There's no need to bow."
"No, it's fine." Rishia blushed and looked away, avoiding eye contact.
I raised an eyebrow at this before turning to the shield hero, "Bye. I look forward to working together."
Then, I turned back to our party and dragged Itsuki away.
"What was that about?" Itsuki asked with an annoyed expression.
"Be nice to them." I scolded him.
Our party laughed as I told him off.
He huffed before grabbing onto my hand and pulling me to walk beside him, "So what did the Queen want?"
"She told me she thinks I'm a vassal hero. Which I'm assuming are similar to the cardinal heroes." I stated, "Though it doesn't really matter. I'm stuck here either way."
We looked around for a bit, getting new armour and weapons to prepare for the mission.
I'm not sure what to expect so it's good to be prepared.

"I'm hungry." Mori whined as she clung to my arm, "Nakei agrees too."
"Well, I am starting to feel a little hungry." Nakei sighed.
"What about you, Aki?" I asked.
She smiled shyly, "I think we've done enough for today."
"You're right. We'll call it a day and set out tomorrow." Itsuki nodded and turned away from the weapon rack he was looking at.
Why was he even looking at weapons when he can't use them??
~*~
Light shone down on my eyelids, blinding me.
I groaned, turning away from the light and burying my face in Itsuki's chest.
He laughed, making his chest shake.
"You're awake?" I asked slowly, prying my eyes open to look up at him.
"I have been for a little while." He smiled fondly down at me, his hand moving to brush some of my hair away from my face.
I smiled tiredly and clung to him, "Let's just sleep."
"We need to get up." Itsuki tried to pull my hands off but they were stuck.
He eventually gave up and just laid there.
I sighed and tried to feel awake.
I wish I could just sleep and not have to think about all this hero bullshit.
After a few minutes, Itsuki decided to just get up.
He sat up and wrapped his arms around my waist, lifting me up as he got out of bed.
The cold air hit my skin.
Guess I'm awake now.
Itsuki placed me down on the cold floor and laughed as I huffed at him.
I stood up quickly.

We met up with the Shield hero and his party.
I looked up at the sky and realised the sun was barely rising.
"It's not even morning." I turned to glare at Itsuki.
He smiled nervously.
Mori grinned, "Aww, come here."
She pulled me into a warm embrace, making me feel sleepy. (Hand in marriage pls)
The others started to climb into the carriage.
Itsuki narrowed his eyes at Mori and snatched me away, "No. Get your own girlfriend."
Mori smiled teasingly, "Why can't I have yours? She's so cute and warm."
My cheeks flushed and I turned to hide my face.
They started to argue.
When Itsuki let his guard down, I broke out of him hold and made a run for a carriage.
I sat myself down next to Rishia and smiled.
She smiled back shyly.
She acted similarly to Aki.
"Get in before we leave." Nakei told Mori and Itsuki as they were the last to get in.
They stopped arguing and both shared a look before racing towards us.
Itsuki sat on the other side of me and smirked at Mori as she was forced to sit next to Aki.
"I'm gonna sleep." I stated, resting my head on Itsuki's shoulder.
He wrapped his arms around my waist, warming my body as the cold air rushed past.
The carriage started to move, the movement causing a slow rocking motion.
I closed my eyes and was lulled to sleep by the slow rocking and Itsuki's warmth.

We were cooking some fish and sat around the fire.
I sighed and leaned into Itsuki, trying to escape the cold air nipping at my skin.
Aki had sat on the other side of me to try and stop Itsuki and Mori arguing again.
We had been travelling for a few days.
I smiled as I ate the fish and potatoes.
It was good.
Filo's hair started to twitch.
"Huh? He's here. We're heading to the Spirit Tortoise Kingdom, far to the east." It sounded like she was talking to someone, "Okay, I'll ask. Master, Fitoria wants to know if you're going to the Spirit Tortoise."
"Fitoria? So that little hair is like an antenna." Naofumi stated, "The world demands sacrifices from all life, huh? What's that got to do with the Spirit Tortoise?"
"What is she talking about?" Rishia asked.
"If all the cardinal heroes can't get along, we'll be killed by Fitoria, the Filolial Queen."
"Huh?!" Rishia looked at us all with alarm.

After a few more days travelling, we had finally made it.
I heard people outside the carriage spreading rumours about the cardinal heroes.
We've only just made it here so there's no way anyone else made it here before us.
The others refused to come anyway. I have no idea what they could be busy with as there are no waves right now.
A huge swarm of bats appeared in the sky as we stepped out of the carriage.
They covered the sky like a black sea , the flapping of wings looking like waves.
A hoard of monsters ran towards us.
They were covered with white fur and had shells on their backs like a tortoise.
I looked at them but the only thing that came up was Spirit Tortoise familiar.
Citizens screamed and ran as bats swooped down and attacked them.
We all quickly moved into action, evacuating as many people as we could while holding back the monsters.
More and more seemed to keep appearing, no matter how many we defeated.
There was a big explosion as Naofumi went out of control.
The monsters all turned and ran, disappearing from sight.
I turned back to face Naofumi and saw he was stood in a big crater.
A woman in a cloak was stood at the top of the crater, "You're the shield hero, I presume? The bow hero and staff hero are here too! How unexpected."
She stared at us for a moment before locking her hands together.
"Please, kill me."
We stared at her in surprise and confusion.
~*~
We held another meeting to decide what to do.
The nobles were all discussing how many people to send to fight and what exactly to do.
"There's no much time." The shield hero stated.
"We don't need the help of the four heroes." One man protested.
"Defeating the Spirit Tortoise by normal means isn't possible." Another argued.
I sat there silently as they argued back and forth.
The door suddenly opened, interrupting the meeting.
It was the woman we saw yesterday, she seemed to be important.
"I didn't give you my name the other day when we met, did I? Allow me to introduce myself properly. I am Ost Hourai." She smiled, "I am a familiar of the Spirit Tortoise."
Is that why she asked us to kill her?
Maybe killing her would also kill the Spirit Tortoise. But that wouldn't make sense if she was just a familiar.
I feel like there's something she's not telling us.
"Don't tell me, you're the same as those bats and yetis?" Naofumi asked in surprise.
"Yes. I just take human form. The task of the Spirit Tortoise is to block the Waves of calamity from appearing, using souls as a resources."
Lives in exchange for stalling the waves?
"Even if it stops the waves, there'll be no life left to protect when the seal is broken." Ost finished explaining.
"Someone broke the seal?" I raised an eyebrow.
Who would do such a thing knowing the consequences?
I thought back to the people from another world. Could it be them?
"Only I'm supposed to know how to break the seal." Ost frowned, "The duty of a human-type familiar was to tell the four heroes how to break it and defeat us."
"What? Why would you tell us that?!" Naofumi narrowed his eyes at her.
When we asked how to kill it she looked confused as if she didn't know the answer.
"It's head." She finally answered, clapping her hands together, "You cut off its head."
"Yeah, most monsters die if you cut off their heads." Itsuki deadpanned.

A/n finally the next season came out. Though since it's so short it means I won't be able to write that many chapters and I also decided to only write about certain parts too.
