My thoughts cut off as I appeared in front of the Boss. She had dark coloured clothes and long black hair with blue highlights. The tips of her hair seemed purple almost. Her eyes were a sharp glowing blue that stood out in the dark room while her cheeks were a rosy pink compared to her pale skin tone.
She sat behind a dark coloured desk that was covered in books and papers with a cup of pens on the corner. The room itself had black wallpaper and dimmed lighting to make it darker. The only window in the room was above The boss's head and shone a blinding light in my face.
To her right stood a girl. She appeared to be an assistant of a sort but didn't exactly look like one. (She looks like above really so yeah). She had spiked clothing and a long spiked tail. A pair of wide feathered green wings were tucked in behind her back. I already know they were enhancements with magic but I was quite impressed with the shadowy aura around them.
"Sean McLoughlin. You know why you are here, yes?" A dark, yet friendly, voice spoke. Felix's cold words came back to mind and I remembered how little he actually cared about me. My mind flickered to Mark and how much he actually cared. I felt my heart begin to ache and pushed him out of my mind.
"Yes," I said bluntly.
"Dj, excuse us for a moment please," The Boss said with a wave of her hand. The female beside her bowed slightly and shifted into shadows. She was clearly shadow jumping but her skills weren't as high as mine so I could see her surge of dark magic trailing through the walls into a few rooms across from us.
"So, Sean. Did you complete your mission?" The Boss asked, her friendly tone replaced with a darker tone.
"Yes," I replied. I wasn't lieing. I did kill the headmaster, I just revived her and kept her memories of me, and a few more.
"So the Headmaster is dead?" The Boss asked to which I remained silent. "Sean."
"Stop calling me that," I said quietly, but loud enough for her to hear.
"Excuse me?" She said, leaning forward as if she didn't hear me clearly.
"I said, stop calling me that," I said, raising my voice.
"Hmmm, thought So," she said before I felt something stab at my mind. I let out a gasp and clutched my head. Only two people have ever been able to enter my mind without my permission. The headmaster and... Cry.
"You broke a rules Sean. Now you must face the consequence," the Boss's dark voice filled my head as I felt my mind being split in two. I felt my legs give way and I collapsed to the floor.
"I'm sorry Jack. I was ordered to," Cry's voice filled my mind. It was too loud. Too loud. Too loud...
~flashback~
Shouting. That's all I could hear. It was very loud to me and made my head hurt.
"Be quiet," I whispered but the shouting didn't stop. It was too loud. Too loud. Too loud.
"Sean? Are you Okay?" A loud voice asked. I kept my eyes shut, trying to block out the noise.
"Too loud," I whispered, flinching at how loud my own voice sounded.
"No one is talking. The room is silent," the voice shouted, sounding worried. I opened my eyes to see everyone looking at me, their mouths shut but the voices still shouting.
"People are shouting," I whispered. I felt tears in my eyes as my headache worsened. "Make then stop."
"No one is talking. Sean, do you need to lay down. Maybe the nurse can help you," the voice said softly. But it was still too loud. Too loud. Too loud. Too loud.
"He's a freak. He can probably hear the voices in his head!" Someone shouted, sounding ten times louder and making me flinch. Then everything went quiet. No screams no nothing. I felt numb all of a sudden.
I stood up without intending too and turned around, seeing a boy standing up and looking at me with a smirk. His face dropped suddenly and black shadows surrounded him. I was terrified. Was I... doing this?
I didn't know what was happening. Everything was quiet but everyone looked like they were screaming. It's as if the shouting I heard earlier was meant to fit in here. Like I heard it before it happened. But, why is this happening?
"Sean!" A sudden shout snapped me back to reality. (Oops there goes gravity :P) I blinked a few times, staring at the lifeless body on the floor. Shadows swirled around it and began to encase it like a coffin.
"I-I...," I choked on my words. I know I was the one who did it but I didn't mean to. I don't know what happened. I just... snapped.
Everything became a blur as I ran home. It became a blur as I killed my parents, as I began to kill and kill and kill and kill. I became a monster. I became the monster everyone said I was. I became the shadows and the monster that controlled them. The innocent boy was lost and the evil monster was born. Only, he wasn't lost.
My vision suddenly shifted and I was seeing something I'd never seen before.
"Girls, there is a powerful kind of magic. A kind of magic that is so powerful that not even the queen can break it." Mother said to me and my sister while she was teaching us about magic.
"It's called blood magic, it's the rawest and most untamed type of magic. Now the reason for that is because the laws of this magic is mostly determined by the caster. Now girls I want you to never use this type of magic, because the only people who can use it are ones who are completely consumed by darkness." she continued, Amber and I looked at each with creased eyebrows and looked over at mother before nodding.
My vision shifted again and I gasped for air, forcing my mind into Cry's and trying to attack his mind in order to stop him for breaking mine.
I watched a boy stare in horror at a man as he killed a woman, something must of clicked in him, because almost immediately he closed his eyes and chanted some kind of spell. When his eyes opened they were red, his skin went a shade greyer, and shadows were flying around him. He effortlessly waved his hand to where an army of about 4000 men were and enclosed them all with darkness. When the shadows disappeared, all that was left were ashes of the men. I froze time around me to take a quick moment to absorb what I just saw. A boy who was 16 or 17 had enough control over dark magic that he could kill 4000 men at once… Just to spite his own father… I took a deep breathe and let time continue. I now saw that the boy was fighting some of the elite members of Amber’s organization. It took all of them to keep him at bay. For now….
I had fully forced Cry into defence and shoved his mind off mine. I took a deep breath but felt my mind shift again, being pulled into another flashback.
After I came back to the battlefield, I saw that all of members of Amber’s organization were knocked out. Amber was no where to be seen, I assumed she went somewhere to regain her strength so she could fight again. Although the Warlord was no longer a threat I still had to be cautious, the boy was still a threat. I flew around and saw the boy on the roof of some warehouses far away from the original place battle. I flew down towards him and cautiously walked to him once I landed on the roof. He was grabbed his head as though he was in pain, I knelt down next to him and he didn’t seem to notice, I continued to extend my arm to grab onto his shoulder. I used my powers to read his mind, I saw his memories and his darkness.
“Darkness can be controlled, but you cannot let it control you.” I said to him in is mind.
He didn’t seem to respond, so I did something I hadn’t done in while. I connected with him, and I gave him some of my light magic and took some of his dark magic. Just enough that his mind was sane again, he now looked up at me with a confused expression.
“Who are you?” he asked me clearly still shaken from what happened.
“Aura.” I responded with a kind smile.
I know these memories belonged to the headmaster and were only brought up because Cry was trying to tear my mind apart but the information they held made me realise what was actually happening. All the missions I had. They were all to weaken the Headmaster and bring power to the Boss. She wants to kill me to take that magic. And with my mind suddenly weak she is going to take that to her own advantage.
The Warlord was in a state of shock when I went up to him. He didn’t even notice I was there until grabbed onto him. He and I were both high up in the air when I summoned my dagger. I was about to kill him but refrained from doing so at the last second. Instead I knocked him out and teleported us to the one place on this horrid planet that time was frozen. It is impossible to find and a perfect place for him. I used my magic to push him into area before creating unbreakable walls around the entire area. He was unconscious and frozen in time, he was stuck in this eternal prison. Forever.
