Life was getting better for me as I learned to somehow adjust with my triplets and being a mom.
All thanks to the helping and generous hands of my brother, friends and - is it safe to say- in laws?
Ni hindi ko nga alam kung aasa pa akong babalikan nya ako.
Oo. I'm pertaining to Matrix.
It has been three months, November to be exact.
And still, I waited for him to call and apologize.
But ever since, he left for an 'international conference', he never returned home.
It's as if wala syang fiance na naghihintay sa bahay at take note, manganganak pa.
I sighed and hummed lullaby to my sons.
It has also been a two months since I started to consult with a psychologist, my elementary schoolmate, Duchess.
As if on cue, my phone rang.
"Hello, Dutch?" I answered.
"Hey, are you coming in today?" She asked and I can hear soft music in the background.
I glanced at the time and saw that it was almost three in the afternoon.
I was scheduled at four!
"Hala, girl! Pinatulog ko kasi ang mga bata! Can you wait up for me? I might be late. But I can ask someone to drive me there."
"We can reschedule it, Clari. Calm down." She said in her nurturing voice. "Besides, it's raining like crazy. It may be hard for you to get here by that time. The highway was blocked near our clinic. They said it's not passable as of today. Let's just schedule it next week, alright?"
"Okay. Thanks anyway for informing me." I sighed and glanced outside the window.
I must have dozed off because heavy rains do seem to fall hard on our roof.
I hung up my phone when we bid our goodbyes and went downstairs after I checked the triplets one last time.
I saw noone in our living room.
Probably, Ate Thalia took her daughter with her to the bedroom.
The nannies and helpers were also spending time at the maids' quarters since the triplets were extremely picky with their caretakers so I ended up taking care of them this afternoon.
No wonder, the climate is indeed inviting. Enough for everyone to result into deep slumber.
I decided to watch some series in Netflix and made some popcorn for myself when I heard knocks on our main door.
I lazily dragged my feet to the door and was shocked to see Matrix De Silva in his wet and drunk look.
"Elo, Babe." Matrix gave me his boyish grin and I blinked in surprise.
---
Minutes later, I was staring at him while he let his head hung at the backrest of the sofa.
If I were back to my usual normal self, without the anger bottled up inside, I would have jumped to him and hugged him and took cared of him.
But in my current state now, between anger and disappointment, I chose to keep my silence and let him get wasted.
"Clarinet, babe." Matrix grinned and hiccuped. "Dyan ka pala? Di mo man lang ako miss? Tegal tegal ko nuwala. Di mo ko hanap? Asan mga babies ko? Babyyy! DITO NA SI DADDY!"
I was shocked when he started yelling.
Frustrated, I gave him a slap on his cheek. My hand left a mark there.
Matrix just chuckled and met my eyes.
"Tumigil ka! Wala kang anak dito! Lumayas ka na! Marami ng nagpapahinga dito!" I answered back, almost hissing snidely at him.
"Tang ina! Semilya ko din ang bumuo sa mga anak ko! Tapos, yaw mo saken pakita?" Matrix hollered, obviously not caring if he woke everyone up.
I cannot take it anymore. I burst into tears.
"Konting konsiderasyon naman! Ilang buwan kang hindi nagparamdam sa akin! Sa amin! Tapos bigla mong kukunin ang mga anak ko?" I begged. "Anong karapatan mong maging ama kung habang tayo pa, may mga kabit ka ng kung makalingkis sayo daig pa ang ahas!"
Matrix' eyes watered as I speak my thoughts.
"Hindi ko sinasadya, Clari. Sinet up lang nila ako!" Matrix voice turned straight immediately as if he became sober again.
He was about to utter another word when the main door opened and revealed Kuya Winston, still in his doctor attire, and my other kuya, Kuya Walnut.
