Sixty - Seven

Life has its moments where there's light.

Moments where life feels normal, like going to buy ice cream and enjoying the breeze of the wind with the sky smiling down at you - gifting you with a beautiful day.

Moments like going to an arcade with a group of friends, then going to skate down the middle of the street in the darkness of the night, but smiling knowing the stars feel inspired by the youthful energy.

Moments like going to cafes, studying for hours, enjoying some coffee and maybe even stresing about classes, but that's okay because at one point it all ends, and that moments of stress fades yet makes us feel human.

Then there's moments where there's darkness.

Where everything feels lost.

Moments where the sky is blue just like the emptiness of a broken heart of desperation, perhaps when feeling like a failure to life.

Not getting the dream job your fought, hoped, and prayed for.

Failing a class, straying you farther behind than your true capability.

Loss of someone dear in our lives.

Someone who meant to live.

Life is full of those moments, light and darkness.

And in Yeosang's life, he has face more darkness than light.

He's seen loss.

Pain.

Torture.

Like a failure, more times than one, especially as a heir to a mafia.

He has faced all those dark moments, drowning him down until he finally fought back.

That's where he met his light, Jimin.

Jimin was the fresh air that pushed against that darkness Yeosang was so used to swimming in, while also demonstrating every layer of his soul that he can be good.

That Yeosang is capable of living a normal life.

He's not a lost case.

Never for Jimin.

And now that darkness came back, the hope that things could be better now gone.

Now swallowing down the fact that Taemin isn't by his side anymore, feeling like a piece of Phoenix is gone, but also having to be in this hospital this very moment - Where Jimin is being held in.

He's awake.

He fine.

He's recovering well actually, but with a problem when he woke up.

A cockroach managed to escape the Orchids building before it exploded, and had the agenda on killing the heir for the betrayal. So, he slammed a metal rod against his skull from behind. A brutal swing that forced Jimin to also slam his skull first on the cemented ground, knocking him out.

So with a force that traumatizing, there had to be something as a result.

And well.... Jimin's result was amnesia.

He doesn't..... Remember anything.

There's no core memory tracing to anything about him - No family memory, his friends, his name, where he was - nothing. He does remember how to eat, drink, breathe, sleep - but everything else is gone.

Completely gone.

Since the news was revealed when Jimin woke up, Yeosang felt his world around him completely crumble even more before his eyes.

He was going to go in to see him.

He was going to step into that room, hoping it'll trigger a memory for Jimin - anything.

But when he stood in front of that door, looking through the window and seeing Jimin looking around aimlessly with those innocent eyes.

The same eyes as that boy of the portrait - scared, innocent, and confused - Yeosang couldn't do it.

He just.... Couldn't.

His parents stood with him as he decided on it, confused that he didn't go inside but at the same time - Jeongguk understood.

He lost his memory before, he knows the confusion Jimin is going through right now - the fear, unease of just anyone around you - he knows it.

And if he wasn't a mafia boss, he probably would've preferred Taehyug to do what Yeosang did at that same moment - let him go.

When they asked why isn't he going inside, Yeosang only stared at Jimin from afar with his teary eyes, hiccupping a painful sob in his throat, "I-I can't guarantee him a safe and happy life with me," He whispers weakly, rubbing his chest weakly, "H-He suffered so much because of this life, and he wanted his inner child to be free. So.... I'll set him free."

And both parents saw their son's sacrifice and love for this man, just by this act along.

Putting Jimin happiness above his own.

Giving him another chance.

Since that day, Yeosang still comes to the hospital, checking everyday how Jimin has been with the doctors and nurses, and watches Jimin from afar.

Of course, it'd be cruel for Jimin to be alone in these confusing times too.

So, Yeosang called Joshua.

It didn't take long for the best friend to book a flight here in a blink of an eye, hysterical undoubtfully but trying to be strong for his best friend. However, before he went in to see Jimin, Yeosang spoke with him outside.

He told him the same thing he told the doctors, that Jimin got into a car accident which is why he's here. From there came the hard part, and it was for Yeosang to tell Joshua to not mention him to Jimin at all.

Nothing in relations to him, as though he didn't exist.

Joshua's not stupid, he could tell this broke Yeosang's far more to say than he let on.

He always knew the two probably had a chemistry hidden under the layers of bickering they would throw off to each other, and judging by Yeosang's words to him, it was far more than a simple crush.

So, Joshua granted his wishes with a weak smile.

And Yeosang knew after the first smile Jimin broke out to Joshua after they spent an hour together, that he did the right thing.

Now he can let him go.

And give him the chance to live the life as he deserves.
