Regular - NCT 127
There's really nothing that's cruising through Jeongguk's mind as he stares at the abandon looking warehouse through the lenses of his black wired glasses. His eyes soars over the now fixed windows that was once broken, the old bricks and fading graffiti that was once bright and fueled with colors.
Now it's all barren.
Trashed.
Abandon.
And completely invisible.
Perfect place for a hideout where the police won't suspect of suspicious behavior.
Yeosang and Hwanwoong have learned well, picking a warehouse where one wouldn't look twice without thinking that this place needs to be redone or just not worth the effort to even glance at.
There's only been probably around three occasions where Jeongguk has entered this hideous building, being taken back by how advanced and organized it was on the inside. Yeosang was wise relying on Soobin, Felix and Wooyoung to make the place look as though one is getting a glimpse of a high leveled facility instead of a dump. These three know a lot about technology, can make the most abandon worthy thing into something high tech and expressive in a matter of seconds.
Those are just three of the brightest in those skills, but the rest are just as unique in their skills as well.
Jeongguk has met the infamous Phoenix crew probably once, together as a whole at least. It's usually during the New Years gathering just for the sake of their families. Why once? Well since they're not exactly an old crew. They've known each other while growing up due to their family ties with the Oasis boss, while some others met later on within their time. They decided to form the Phoenix crew after they were more older, more experienced in their areas of expertise, and that's how a year ago they decided to come together and be their little bad boy crew.
Well that's how Taehyung refers to them as.
When Jeongguk met the whole crew last year during the New Years Celebration, he took them to his office along with their powerful families to create a contract, or a treaty. The Phoenix crew will not be reckless and cause conflict with any other empire, leaving the heavy and dirty work to them, but they will be making sure that the Oasis empire will be respected.
Almost like the goons.
If Oasis needed something to be taken care of, from any branch, they will handle it. Either if it's exploding a shipment, divert the officials away from them, go to another country and get a job done or constructing new drugs, they were there for it.
No one messed with Phoenix, and their reputation is something that makes Jeongguk and the rest of the families proud.
They're definitely going to be great heirs to their areas for sure.
The thought of that twitched a frown to Jeongguk's lips, remembering his son's rebellion to the crown while his other son clearly prefers avoiding any talk on being the leader. One way somehow, either of the two will have to step up.
They can't run from their duties forever.
A hand slithers down to Jeongguk's hand, diverting his attention from the building and to the side, meeting Taehyung's firm gaze but delicate touch of his fingers interlacing with his tightly.
Almost as if he knew Jeongguk needed that comfort now.
As for now Oasis has two powerful leaders, and Jeongguk is going to continue to be a powerful boss with Taehyung along his side as far as however long life catches up and fucks it up.
Not like Jeongguk is afraid of it, it's something he's ready for.
There's no choice really.
Part of life.
So Jeongguk squeezes Taehyung's hand back and waved his other hand to signal the driver and the other goon to stay and just keep eyes outside. Wordlessly the powerful couple strolls to the front door of the warehouse, to which Taehyung raised his multiple ringed hand and knocks his knuckles against the wooden frame now with them waiting for a response.
Maybe it took a minute or two long for someone to answer, and right when Taehyung grew impatient and was about to bang against the door, it swings open to reveal Hwanwoong.
And he's.... A bit weird?
He's smiling way too wide, leaning against the door in a very strained way of acting casual, making Jeongguk slightly cringe to the horrible acting skills.
No wonder he doesn't want to be a leader, he can barely look secretive without making it so obvious.
"Hello fathers, how was the ride here?"
Okay, something is going on, clearly.
He wasn't even the only one who noticed it too because when he spares a look to Taehyung, the other only glances back at him with that same suspicious look as well before looking to their son.
This should be good.
So Jeongguk shuffles a hand in his pocket, "Decent, now are you going to let us in or are we interrupting an orgy?"
Hwanwoong's cheeks blazed pink, bursting out a very nervous chuckle before extending the door open wider, "Come in."
Taehyung forces a small fake smile to his son before leading the way inside to make sure nothing suspicious is going on before letting Jeongguk in after making sure it's safe. So far nothing is going on that seems out of the ordinary; Soobin and Taemin are working on motorcycles, gearing it up in preparation for a next mission out. Wooyoung and Felix are hover over the computer section, pointing out to things on the screen.
The only things that seems a bit odd is how Ten is tied up to a chair, staring in distaste to Woosung sitting in front of him with a notepad in hand; Appearing like a regular therapy session really.
Guess he lost his sense of control.
Jeongguk's eyes narrowed as he looks for a familiar face, finally finding it when he glances to the stairs, to where Yeosang is sitting down while sharpening a knife and holding onto this troubling expression on his face in full focus. There's nothing really that seems odd about that since he always looks as though he's ready to stab someone at any given moment.
A look that's definitely familiar.
When Jeongguk and Taehyung made their presence known in the warehouse, that's what made the boy turn his head from the knife to meet is fathers gazes. Of course he wasn't exactly delighted, but he did relax upon seeing them.
They're his parents after all.
Everyone- except for Ten clearly- stood up and offered the two leaders a bow to their presence, just out of respect. Meanwhile Yeosang stands up and makes his way towards them, twirling the knife between his fingers before settling it on his strap and stands in front of them with arms crossed.
"I'm behaving if that's what you're worried about."
Taehyung twitches a smirk, patting his son on the shoulder, "Surprised you're staying here and not at the hotel."
"Won't be for long," His voice remains monotone and casual, the same tone he always uses with them, "Classes begins in three weeks again. I'll be here for the time being but be going back to the hotel soon."
Jeongguk tries not to frown upon hearing this, or let the fact that his son is far away from his reach bother him. He's grateful enough that him and Hwanwoong have such a close connection that Yeosang doesn't forget his sense of family, since he clearly can't share that with his parents if they're always busy, but Jeongguk wants to keep him close somehow.
But he can't force him either way.
Yeosang is an adult now, not a child.
If he wishes for independency and freedom, Jeongguk won't be one to hold him back.
"I see," The powerful ravenette murmurs, his eyes scanning over the area before his eyes landed to Woosung. He could see his face perfectly well, sometimes would be blocked by Ten's head when he would glance down to write down on his notepad. For a moment Jeongguk forgot how to breathe when Woosung catches his gaze looking at him, locking the stare.
Some things never change, or past emotions.
It didn't last long though because Jeongguk instantly broke it when he slowly fixes his gaze to the ground, pushing his accelerating beating heart aside to look back to his two sons now as Taehyung speaks with them in regards to the celebration tomorrow.
There's no doubt that Yeosang instantly refused to go, but after meeting Jeongguk's icy gaze in such a way that he would do when he was a child, he was swayed that he might make an appearance.
Key word, might.
But Jeongguk wouldn't be disappointed if he didn't show up.
"We actually came for a different matter now," Jeongguk says calmly yet authoritative, that made both boys immediately stand up straight with hands to their back as they listen, "It regards to our alliance with the Shadow family."
Yeosang furrows his eyebrows, "Are they breaching the treaty?"
"More like wanting to re-adjust it," Taehyung remarks indifferently, taking Yeosang's knife from his pocket and observing it with his perplexed eyes, "They are growing suspicious over our loyalty. After the shipment from here to Japan sandal with a kilo of coke going missing. Even if we did manage to pay it back, they are hesitant of something like this occurring again."
This now made Yeosang's face coil, perking an eyebrow, "But it's not your fault if a kilo went missing-"
"Yeah but they're the one's receiving, our family is providing," Hwanwoong inputs in, "They buy the coke, expecting to have the full amount and to only to receive a quarter of it gone would suggest that our family are not being responsible with our shipment or our alliance."
Taehyung and Jeongguk tried not to gawk in adoration to their two boys diving into this so easily, so naturally actually.
What a nice family meeting.
That's why they admire talking about business with them, they instantly are well educated on the manner.
The family matter to be precise.
Hwanwoong is all about numbers and exchange, Yeosang is about being even and making sure no one gets out of line.
The two together in the future would be the most intimidating duo to ever walk the dark world.
Yeosang hums quietly to Hwanwoong, flickering his eyes to his parents, "If they're doubting your loyalty then I would recommend raising the profit for the coke they receive as a lesson. Remove the discount of shipment, raise the cost for the coke, and let them suffer the consequences of their buyers going insane for more coke."
Sadistic bastard.
A twitching smirk perks Jeongguk's lips, "That would be ideal but I have a better option, and that's why I need the assitance of Phoenix to solve it for me."
The sons immediately listens, ready to receive the order when demanded.
This time Taehyung grins gracefully, clasping his hands together, "Well we need names on who our snake who stole our kilo is, and from there send our best regards to the Shadow empire as an apology. If it was someone from their empire, leave a message on behalf of Oasis."
Jeongguk watches with a glint of pride to how Yeosang and Hwanwoong exchanged a broad smirk similar to Taehyung's own evil grin. There's no doubt that they'll fail, if there's anything they knew what to do is find someone and leave a message. His parents taught them well after all but now they have learned to be creative on their own.
Besides, all they need in order to find connections and answers are all in this warehouse.
Yeosang perks an eyebrow and fixes an eye over the computers and his members, his smirk growing before looking back to his parents, "Consider it done."
That's more like it.
An impressed smile forms Jeongguk's lips as he ruffles both of Yeosang and Hwanwoong's hair, sending a look to Taehyung with a nod to the door to leave, "I think we are done here-"
A loud boom abruptly echoes the warehouse.
Immediately Taehyung yanks Jeongguk behind him, pulling his gun out in seconds with a stare so murderous in his eyes to any sharp movements in case anything shoots out to attempt to kill his husband.
Wouldn't be the first time an ambush were to happen, make that Taehyung a bit paranoid.
However Yeosang instantly shoots his hands up, "Woah relax! No need for that!"
Taehyung didn't budge as he looks at everyone here, who instantly tensed up to the loud noise as though they were caught doing something they weren't suppose to do.
Jeongguk observed this careful but snaps his head when a loud rattle -similar to chains- slams from one of the doors at the lower level of the warehouse. He didn't notice how the rest of the boys were sweating bullets now, neither the less Taehyung as well when he followed where the noise came from.
"What the fuck was that!?"
Taehyung's voice is in a very low and brutal octave tone, especially when another loud bang slams against a metal door a few feet to their side.
Everyone glanced at each other nervously until Hwanwoong suddenly chuckles, snapping his parents to look at him, "Oh that? We... Got a new dog."
Jeongguk blinks to his statement, observing how he seems almost strained to hold his composure intact.
Alright, maybe Jeongguk is growing paranoid because of his previous experiences. These kids know how to take care of themselves so maybe they did need a little mascot or something.
Consider on perhaps leaving it be, Jeongguk was just about to bid it off but the second his eyes met with Woosung's once again, he stopped. The other looks worried, maybe a bit anxious by the way he's nibbling his bottom lip.
That's strange, Woosung is never one to be typically concerned.....
That was all the answer Jeongguk needed.
"Taehyung, check the room."
That phrase alone was as though they were opening the gates of hell. Yeosang instantly sprung to the door the second Taehyung stormed his way towards it, blocking his way.
"Don't go in there."
Taehyung's glare intensifies, teeth snarling almost animalistic with the gun still tight in his grip as though he's ready to shoot at any given moment, "Move."
"I-If you promise me-"
"Speak the fuck up!" Taehyungs roars now, clearly growing annoyed with the mystery of the damn door, "We did not raise no weak son!"
Yeosang gulps thickly, gathering his composure to stand straight with a monotone expression, almost like a switch to his heartless side unlike how panicked he was moments ago, "This is my business. I don't involve myself with your shit, don't involve yourself with mine."
Here's the thing with Taehyung and Yeosang; They both are very temperamental. Sure Jeongguk is too, with his psychotic tendancies and stuff, but Taehyung is more emotional. That's why he always know how to stop fights between Jeongguk and Yeosang. But when Taehyung is pissed, he's pissed.
And he doesn't care about being a peacemaker.
Both Taehyung and Yeosang are stubborn so they don't back down in fights, which makes it very lethal when they start to swing at each other.
So that's why Jeongguk places a hand on Taehyung's shoulder, being his anchor to calm down, before fixating his eyes to their son, "Yeosang, move."
"But father-"
"Now," His tone is stern with not a trace to compromise. Yeosang clearly wanted to continue further but only let's his gaze drop and moves aside instead.
Without anymore time to wait, Taehyung steps closer to the door where the banging and thrashing are coming from, not wasting time in swinging the door open.
Darkness, that's the only thing Jeongguk could really notice. Maybe there's a bit of light from the computer screens against the wall but other than that, it's completely dark.
For a second Jeongguk began to doubt on himself and his sense after scouring the room with his eyes to see no one in sight, but a loud crash snaps Taehyung to the noise with his gun up while making sure Jeongguk stays behind him.
That's when they see someone; A boy cowered in a corner, chained to the wall with duck tape covering over his mouth. His skin is drenched with sweat and his eyes are swollen from the series of crying fit he's been going through. He's uncontrollably yanking his wrists against the chains, screeching against the duck tape, trying to get to his feet but kept falling by how weak his legs give out.
There's been many occasions where Jeongguk has seen a sight similar to this, not really feeling anything to it, but what made him become completely taken back by it has to be the familiar face that's chained up like a fucking animal.
There's no way Jeongguk was making sense to anything at this point, but all he knew was that he found himself taking Taehyung's gun and striding towards the man with the gun pointing to his forehead firmly.
He knew he shouldn't have trusted this fucking rat-
"Wait father stop! He didn't do anything wrong!"
Jeongguk grits his teeth to Yeosang's plead, keeping his eyes on the boy as he hugs his body close with teary eyes focused to the ground.
Almost as though he didn't notice Jeongguk even standing there.
"You have a minute to explain to me what the fuck is this," Jeongguk growls, his grip in the gun tightening as his trust issues began to blossom to full light.
He hears footsteps and he fixes his gaze to his side to see Yeosang standing there, desperately trying to keep a hold of himself together from not panicking.
"He was kidnapped by Orchids. I don't know what's going on with him but now he's just panicking and would stop screaming-"
Jeongguk snaps his head to his son, eyebrows furrowed now in a troubling expression, "What did they do to him?"
Yeosang didn't answer immediately and that only made Jeongguk grab his collar and yank him forward with one hand, making the boy flinch to the sudden assault.
"Talk, now."
There's this hesitation in Yeosang's eyes but then he finally gives in, "It wasn't what they did to him..... But what he did to them," He whispers in unease, unable to look at Jeongguk dead in the eye, "He snapped somehow, he began to shoot in the place and exploded the building. He's a civilian, he has nothing to do with this life-"
A rough shove back made Yeosang collide to the table, but all Jeongguk could focus on is the boy on his knees to the ground, shivering and whimpering through the duck tape. He doesn't say anything, only observed quietly and nudges the gun to the boy's head.
The boy didn't even react.
Hm.
"Uncuff him," Jeongguk orders, to which made Hwanwoong instantly pull out the key and let the restraints from Jimin's wrists crackle against the ground lifelessly, "Now get out."
Jeongguk didn't have to look to see the draining of colors in the members face, shrieking as Taehyung shoves them out of the room, including Yeosang as well. He was desperately protesting to not kill this little thing, but Jeongguk only kept his empty gaze on Jimin until everyone was finally out of the room.
The last thing Yeosang sees is Jeongguk crouching down to Jimin's body and Taehyung closing the door from the inside, holding onto a devious smirk on his face before the door closed shut.
