Harry and I decided to take his car to drive to our spot on the beach, since it was a bit far from the city to go by foot, at least for me because I'm not used to walking or running that distance; and also because it was the best way to avoid the reporters at the front of the hotel waiting for him.
The rain had stopped for good and the sky was slowly clearing up, letting us enjoy the last rays of sun of the day through the car windows, before sunset.
As Harry was driving I didn't doubt of intertwining my hand with his' over the gearbox.
I heard him sigh and his shoulders visible relaxed.
"I can't handle all of this, Lou."
"It's okay not to be able to handle things. It actually shows your humanity, Harry."
"But Lou, they're counting on me. And God I'm so frustrated, he ruined everything! He abandoned us, do you understand that?!" - Harry sighed again and stopped the car. - "I'm sorry, I don't even know why I'm yelling at you."
"It's okay, let it all out on me. C'mon."
"Louโฆ I'm fine."
He opened the door and got out of the car, I followed suit behind his steps.
"No, you're not. Shout it all out, you need it. C'mon."
Harry stopped walking and turned to wait for me.
When I reached him, he took my hand and he guided me down the lane to the shore, our usual spot already visible on the horizon.
"How the hell am I going to keep functioning all these hotels around the country if we don't have money? Not even to pay our employees!" - He yelled and I thanked that we were alone in this area so nobody would hear him. - "He took it all, and now we have to fix it for him, to keep the reputation, there's no way we can do it." - He said and let himself fall on his knees in the sand. - "What should I do, Lou? It's all going down, I can't do this."
He looked up at me, clinging to my hand as I knelt in front of him too.
The sand was pretty wet and sticky for all the hours of the storm before, but it was still our special place, nothing would ruin that. Not even the rain.
Though I thanked having my boots on.
"You know how I feel about you working in something you actually hate just because you're forced to." - I said softly, lifting my free hand and cupping his cheek.
"So?"
"I don't think it's appropriate for me to tell you my opinion, you should probably decide this on your own."
"Tell me your opinion. I want to hear it."
"Harryโฆ"
"Please." - He said with big begging eyes.
"I think that if this is already sinking, then it is probably your way out of it. You could sell the place and spend the rest of your life doing something you want to. Maybe music, or anything else. I don't know." - I shrugged.
Harry closed his eyes, dropping his head to the ground, avoiding my stare.
"I can't do that to Gemma. Or my mother, she left it all to build this business next to my dad, it was her whole life."
"But it's not yours, baby."
Harry quickly raised his head, looking straight at me.
Babyโฆ I like that.
Harry smiled widely at me and I was glad to see his smile again.
"I heard that." - He said.
"I heard yours too." - I bit my lip and I probably blushed.
Harry smiled back at me and leaned over to kiss me on the lips sweetly.
"Now that I calmed down, do you want to go for a walk with me and we can talk about us?" - He asked near my lips.
"What about the hotel and your father?" - I asked, confused.
"You said it yourself. I can't resolve anything if I'm not in a good state of mind. So I'm going to give it a rest."
Harry stood up, wiping the sand off his knees as I stayed still, looking up at him from where I was kneeling, still confused by him.
"What are you still doing down there?" - He asked me. - "I thought you would want to talk."
"About us?" - I smiled hopefully.
"Yeah." - He giggled.
I smiled to myself and leaned over to peck the sides of his bare ankles that were right in front of me.
"I'm completely at your feet." - I said, jokingly.
"Yeah, quite literally." - He laughed, extending his hand and pulling me up on my feet. - "C'mon."
By now the sky had already cleared and the night was already falling on us.
It had been quite a long day.
I looked at Harry on my side as we walked together along the empty beach, his skin had turned tanned and golden as the summer days went on, and it had some kind of glistening under the moonlight.
He looked absolutely precious.
"I heard that." - He whispered, looking now at me.
I stopped walking and pulled him by his hand, making him turn and stand up in front of me.
I moved my hands to grab his hips and bring him even closer to me.
I fixed my eyes completely into his', analyzing every single detail of him, his eyelashes, his pupils, the colour of his iris, everything.
"I could admire you forever." - I breathed out, a few inches from his face.
"Shut up." - He laughed, shyly.
"Why? Are you blushing? Do I make you blush?" - I teased.
"It's justโฆ" - He shook his head with a shy smile forming on his lips. - "You make me feel so beautiful."
"You are. Inside and out." - I smiled, leaning up to kiss his lips gently.
He and I both knew that there wasn't anything else to say at that moment, and that we could just get lost in each other's lips without worries. Because it was alright.
Everything was alright.
Harry surrounded me with his arms, running them in my hair and in my back, sweetly accompanying our kiss.
I gripped tighter on his hips, rubbing circles with my thumbs over the fabric of his shirt as I kissed him deeper, mixing our tongues together, working as one.
I'll forever be grateful to the summer for bringing me to you.
"I heard that."
"I know." - He smiled into the kiss.
"Soโฆ you wanted to talk about us?" - I said, placing a hand on his chest, separating our bodies a little.
"Mhm..." - He mumbled, leaning in again to kiss me once more, a bit more slow this time.
Then, Harry broke the contact with my lips, moving his mouth up to kiss my forehead as he continued leaving a trail of little kisses down my cheeks, prowling his lips on my nose and my jaw.
"Nice conversation." - I whispered and he laughed. - "Very productive."
Harry then moved his lips down to my neck, kissing gently on my skin up to my ear.
"Can I call you my boyfriend?" - He whispered into my ear.
I cupped his cheeks, pushing him back to get a full view of his beautiful face.
"Are you serious?"
"Yes."
"Okay, let me remind you one thing. You were the guy that not long ago told me to not keep my hopes up for you. Do you remember that?"
"Yes, not my brightest moment."
"Are you sure you're the same guy? Or maybe you're the evil twin or something?"
"Louisโฆ" - He rolled his eyes.
I laughed out loud and pulled him down to peck his lips.
"Yes, of course you can call me your boyfriend."
