The Sound of Moonlight

Percy tapped his foot impatiently in the waiting room of the clinic. His nervousness and impatience got the better of his bodily functions as he couldn't stop himself from turning his head side to side looking around the room. The posters of the clinic were suddenly the most interesting thing in the world.

His wife Artemis was in the room with the doctor and her brother, who coincidentally was also a doctor and so wanted to be there. In fact, he was her twin brother, so it made even more sense for him to be there.

The day had been a long one. Too long for Percy's liking. He had bags under his eyes to show it, having not really gotten any sleep the night before aside from a quick snooze in the waiting room of the hospital. He couldn't go home, not while Artemis was getting the operation. What if something went wrong and he couldn't be there?

That was a grim thought, yeah, but at the time he'd rather have been safe than sorry. The others had gone home to sleep though since they all knew Artemis would be out for hours anyway. Percy couldn't bear to take the chance. He had to be there for his wife, even if she wasn't conscious to know that.

As he sat in the waiting room Percy found himself reminiscing on just how he had met Artemis only a few years ago.
