Chapter-5
Ethan came running towards me.
"Did you have an idea about the love growing between Stacy and James before?" I asked him breathlessly.
"I knew that they had become good friends but this was unexpected." He spoke almost as surprised. We both ran near the the field and there they stood. Stacy Adams was a simple girl. She wasn't very much into make up or fashion and was rather a tomboy. They both stood hand-in-hand with Fiona by Stacy's side.
" Congratulations brother. I am so happy that you both are a thing now." I wished them.
"Congrats. By the way, I just hope Stacy, that you will be able to handle this man. He is kind of paranoid." Ethan giggled.
"I just hope too." Stacy chuckled.
"Guys! Let's come to the point now." James said grabbing everyone's attention." I am holding a party tomorrow at my place at 6:30 pm for this blessing which God has bestowed upon me." He winked at Stacy. "Make sure you all attend it."
"Of Course we will," all three of us cheered in unison.
We parted as I made my way down the pavement to my car. I couldn't focus on anything. All my thoughts took me to one place: The Soulmate Guide. I reached home and without even glancing at mom and Charlie, I quickly ran upstairs to my room and sat down to read the guide.
So now you here you are. Now you believe me? As I told you, you will coming running towards me.
Looked like the guide was mocking me too. I turned the page with curiosity.
Now we move towards the first characteristic of your soulmate. She has dark eyes. The dark eyes match yours and it gives your relationship a beautiful meaning. It signifies that you both will stay together forever. Your stars are connected. Your charms match to give a perfect definition of love. When you will face her eye to eye, you won't realise but your charms will. The eyes never lie my boy, you will eventually know.
Below it was a picture of dark eyes. The picture was so clear that I could see every intricate detail of those eyes. They were beautiful! I quickly turned to the next page but it read, Don't be so impatient. One day, one characteristic my boy.
"Holycrap man why?" I mumbled in annoyance. I quickly took out a notepad from my drawer and wrote the first characteristic. Dark eyes. My mind wandered through the corridors of Amethyst High as I thought about all the girls with dark eyes. There are so many of them. Stacy is one of them too. Does that mean she is my soulmate? Of course not. So are Fiona, Madison, and even Professor Emily. Vanessa Hudgens had dark eyes too. Does that mean, she is the one? I had to stay calm. Until I did not get all characteristics written down and well analyzed, I couldn't find her. I wrote down the names of all possible girls in my batch until a thought struck me.
What if she isn't in my school?
I became very exasperated. It was impossible for me to find girls with dark eyes. She must be in Egypt. Or France. Or Australia. Or Italy. Or India. Or Turkey. Or probably in USA but in another city. Probably in New York but some other place. How could I find her?
Pretty hopeless, I closed the guide again. Suddenly, my cell phone buzzed. I picked it up. It was a call from Ethan.
"Hey Blake. Let's go shopping for tomorrow's party at James' house. I have nothing to wear." He spoke.
"Sure. I will pick you up. Be ready at 5." I took a quick shower and put on grey t-shirt paired with a dark blue denim jacket which complimented my eyes. Settling my hair, I got into my car and drove to Ethan's place which was just a few metres away. We drove to the mall by the side of the street. It was a bit far away. I wanted to tell Ethan about the guide. About how things were taking a magical turn in my life. But I kept quiet. I had to. Who would believe it? Who would believe that I found a book that shows the path to true love? I remained quiet till we reached the place.
We both entered the mall and headed towards the Forever 21 store. Fortunately, we found the type of clothes we wanted in almost no time and after the payment, we headed to McDonald's for some snacks. We sat down there and waited for the orders to arrive when my eyes met two girls sitting at the corner table. Leah. Rachel. Ethan and I chorused the names. They turned to look at us. Rachel waved at us.
"What are you both doing here?" she asked.
"We came here to hunt donkeys. If you see one let us know," Ethan said annoyed by the senseless question.
"What is the need to hunt? Haven't you checked out the mirror? " Rachel made a face at Ethan.
"Don't tell me... Are you both also coming to Stacy's party?" Leah interrupted.
"We are going to James' party." Ethan narrowed his eyes at them.
"Of course we are, after all James is one of our best friends. Are you two also coming?" I couldn't help asking.
"Well. Stacy invited us. She is one of our best friends too." Rachel smirked.
We all spend the rest of the time at the mall together and it was 8:30 at night when we finally parted. I dropped Ethan and drove to my place. After having dinner and feeding Charlie, I lied down on my bed. I was kind of excited for tomorrow's party. Finally some fun time with my friends. And also, tomorrow a new characteristic was supposed to unveil. I gently closed my eyes.
