Chapter Twenty-Five, Meetings and Classes Reinstated

Minerva McGonagall sighed as she looked at the portfolio which showed all the money Hogwarts had lost because of Dumbledore, and thought about all of the classes he'd removed; well hopefully one of the problems will be fixed today. She had a meeting soon with the Board of Governors about reinstating the classes, normally she wouldn't add more problems with the Chamber of Secrets being opened but this needed sorting today so the students could pick the classes for their selections next year. She was just thinking of ways she could get money back into the school account when there was a knock at the door bringing her from her thoughts.
"Come in." Minerva called. "Mr Weasley, what can I do for you?" She asked politely, as the door opened revealing Bill Weasley.

"Good morning Professor McGonagall." Bill greeted upon entering the room, and taking a seat in front of her. "The Curse is progressing slowly but we're hopeful we'll soon crack it. But there is more troubling news. We've discovered traces of two Horcruxes within the school."
"WHAT!?" Minerva yelped, shocked and appalled, the Wards had not registered anything. Just what had Dumbledore done?
"We can help you and the Professors check the Wards but we found one in the Room of Requirement, in a room where thousands of things had been lost. It was actually in Rowena Ravenclaw's lost Diadem. Sofia has taken it to Gringotts to be removed, but the second we are having trouble tracking down. It has moved all over the school and no definitive Tracing Spell has been able to locate it. We fear it's been bewitched against it being tracked and found to a degree." Bill explained heavily.

"Thank you Mr Weasley. I'm seriously concerned over what Dumbledore has done to the Wards of this school as they were only checked this past summer. Maybe something has been cast on them to appear fine, I do not know. As for the Diadem, allow the Goblins to keep it once the Horcrux is removed and destroyed as payment. Perhaps all the things in the Room of Requirement can be used to boost the monetary value of the school." Minerva mused, casting a Tempus charm she filed everything away in a locked draw of her desk and stood from her seat. "I apologise for cutting this short but I have a meeting with the Board of Governors."
"That's fine Headmistress. Let me know if there's anything else we can do." Bill assured, standing from his own seat.
"Thank you William." Minerva smiled as the pair left her office, Bill heading back to Gringotts and Minerva to the Staff Room where the meeting would be held with the Board and the teachers.

As Minerva entered the Staff Room, she was greeted to the sight of Sirius and Severus almost nose to nose, arguing while Remus tried to break them up but only seemed to make things worse.
"Sirius! Severus! Remus! What is the meaning of this?" Minerva asked sharply.
"I'm fed up with him bullying Izzy! He's petty as he tries to get his own back on James, Remus and I by taking it all out on Izzy when she's innocent. We have tried to apologise to you for what happened when we were kids, but you cease to accept it!" Sirius explained, before he ended up shouting at Severus once again. "How would you like it if Remus and I were doing that to your Godson!?" Sirius demanded.
"You probably would." Snape sneered at the pair.

"No we wouldn't because he's an innocent child!" Remus and Sirius argued hotly.
"Plus he's Andy's nephew and I may hate most of my family but I wouldn't take it out on him!" Sirius added maturely.
"Severus enough!" Minerva snapped, as more teachers filed into the room. "I have warned you of your behaviour towards not only Izzy but the rest of the school. This is your last warning." She ordered firmly, before she took her seat, waiting for the Governors and the rest of the teachers to arrive. Not long after Professor Sinestra arrived the Governors started trickling in.

They were Augusta Longbottom, Lucius Malfoy, Mary and Philip Abbott, Drusilla and Damon Greengrass, Steven Goldstein, Melissa Zabini, Ernest MacMillan, Jeremiah Johnson, Louisa Spinnett, and Terence Boot.

"Thank you all for coming." Minerva started, once the last person had taken their seats and the house-elves had delivered refreshments. "The reason I call this meeting is thus; I'd like to have the classes Albus banned reinstated. I know now is not a great time with the Chamber being opened - that is being looked into I assure you - but I feel the students have been deprived of a well rounded education for too long, and would like to rectify this before the students pick their classes for next year. Also, the Curse Breakers in the school have found a dark object in Ravenclaw's Diadem, found in the Room or Requirement.

It is, in this room, I feel we can make back the money Albus wasted due to the vast amount of objects in that room. A second dark object has been traced within the school grounds, they are tracking it down as we speak and will be assessing the Wards once again, as I fear Albus has done something nefarious to them, proven by Voldemort being attached to Quirrel last year. The person responsible for the second object will have to deal with Madam Bones." Minerva explained to a stunned room.

"This is an excellent idea, Minerva, and will certainly raise the money needed to replace items within the school." Augusta praised, satisfied the other matters were being dealt with sufficiently.
"If we are needed to help deal with the room's vast contents, please let us know as I have no doubt it will take years to successfully sort through and sell those items." Drusilla asked.
"Thank you Lady Greengrass, that is most appreciated." Minerva said with relief.
"What classes are you looking to reinstate?" Jeremiah Johnson asked.

"I propose that we give the students a better education by improving the teaching for History of Magic as most of the students, if not all, use that class to sleep. As for Divination, I recommend setting a test to see if they have the gift so they can't use it for an easy grade. But first and foremost, I would like to propose the reintroduction of Introduction to the Wizarding World." Minerva proposed, getting murmurs or agreement. 
"The current Muggle-raised students will require a more intense class to catch up in the following year. So perhaps two Professors for this class to ease the burden.

But it will cover The Olde Ways from everting from First Rites and homage to Mother Magic, courtships. The holidays: Samhain, Yule, Ostara, Litha, Lughnasadh, Bealtaine, Mabon and Imbolc along with their celebrations, how to remain proper women, the correct way to address people in our society and wearing their hair up. Hopefully this will give our society a magical boost it so desperately needs."
"Wonderful goals Headmistress but what if the students do not follow this?" Lucius asked shrewdly.
"It will be made clear to them in class that it is non negotiable." Andy said firmly. "Like in other classes."

"What are the other classes?" Lady Zabini asked intrigued.
"The others are; Basic Spell Crafting from Third Year, which changed to Intermediate, Advanced and Expert. The Intermediate class will be for fourth years, Advanced for fifth years, and sixth and seventh years for the Expert class, each becoming more demanding. They can learn to create a variety of objects,  from stuffed animals, to bandages, and clones of themselves for emergencies. There will also be a spell to look up their inheritance alongside the current potion which will give a more in-depth look at bloodlines.

In Sixth Year, the students can take up Healing, Curse Breaking and Ward Design, How to Cast Rituals and Ancient Magicks, Wizarding Laws and Regulations
and the Forgotten Arts. There is a severe lack of architecture nowadays, the last manor built was in the 13th century." Minerva finished explaining, impressing not only all of her staff but the Board of Governors as well, as it looked like Hogwarts would soon be well on its way to becoming one of the most prestigious schools in the Wizarding World instead of being behind and the most lacking school in their community. The only reason why parents send their students here nowadays is due to either attending here themselves, not having the fee for other schools, bribed by Dumbledore or due to its history I.e. the Founders.

"Thank you Minerva. We can see our children will get the best education possible with you as Headmistress." Mary Abbott said happily.
"All those who agree on what has been discussed raise your wand." Philip Abbott commanded, everyone raised their wands even a reluctant Lucius Malfoy. "Then it's settled. We will start looking for Professors for those new classes and History of Magic by putting an ad in the papers." After that the meeting finished and they left to get the ball rolling as it were.

Later that night, after Izzy had finished in the shower she picked up the mirror and called Sirius.
"Pup? What's wrong?" Sirius asked worriedly, seeing how nervous she was.
"Siri, would... Would you accept my First Rite?" Izzy asked uncertainty. She hadn't issued it before due to how busy Mr Weasley has been lately, plus, she'd been wary at the start of the summer, then she'd had no one she could ask at the start of term.
"Of course pup." Sirius beamed feeling incredibly touched. "I'll Floo to the common room." He added, before he ended the call. Smiling happily, Izzy put the mirror on her bedside table, picked up her brush and hurried down to the common room where Sirius was already sitting waiting in the armchair next to the roaring fire, a cushion on the carpeted ground in front of him. 

"Siri!" Izzy beamed, rushing over to him and hugging him tightly, let alone happily.
"Hi pup." Sirius said happily, hugging her tightly for a moment before he reluctantly pulled back. "Let's get your hair dry before you get sick." Sirius added, accepting the brush from her and gently pulling her long, dark hair on to his lap as she sat in front of him. As he brushed Izzy's hair he hummed softly, both of them relaxed in each other's company and the roaring fire. At some point Izzy had been lulled to sleep by both the calming atmosphere and motions only to be gently woken by Sirius when her hair had long since dried.

"Sorry Padfoot." Izzy apologised with a yawn, as she accepted the stands and dropped them into the fire which turned turquoise for a moment signalling the offering had been accepted by Mother Magic.
"Don't be sorry, Izzy." Sirius assured, he knew how stressed she'd been since Samhain. "Just go and get a good sleep and I'll see you in the morning." He said softly, helping her stand. Once she had got her bearings he pulled her into another hug, kissing her forehead. "Goodnight pup."
"Night Pa'oot." Izzy yawned, making her way up to bed with Sirius fondly watching her go. While in the boys Third Year dorms Fred relaxed down into bed smiling happily as he felt Izzy relax for the first time since the summer.
